This comment is about the sister with brain cancer. I'm a nurse and sometimes if you have a brain tumor or multiple tumors your personality can change. Normal brain tissue is destroyed by the cancer. If this isn't her normal behavior ask her doctor about it. There probably isn't anything that can be done but at least you'll have a better understanding of why she has changed.
last story i think things are good with op and his gf he just needs to let her know that he wants her and him to spend more time together spending time with her friend is fine but if you do it to much it may come off a little weird seeing you dont spend the much time with your partner hope things end well
Story 3 : to entitled mom even if your kid’s Nuro diverse and wanted to stay in the pool area, I ask you what about any Nuro diverse ADULTS who literally CAN’T be around kids because they get overwhelmed too? Did you think of them? NO! And it’s people like you that make it really hard for me to even consider going outside because I DO get triggered by kids and no one ever seems willing to hear my side of the story when I’m running away from kids just begging my brain to not go into full meltdown before I get away… (I have mild Autism along with other ether invisible or barley visible disabilities)
I had knee surgery too and healing sucks because mines didn’t heal correctly so I’m currently using a brace and a cane to help me walk in the meantime. I once went into a supermarket and went to use the mobile carts and while driving it around one lady kept blocking me and tells me “Your not supposed to be using this. This cart is for actual disable people.” I basically showed her my cane and my brace and went on my way. She followed me and was recording me. She was escorted out by security who saw her harassing me. I had my air pods on so I wasn’t listening to what she was going on about.
I will say, they shouldn't have been running with the wheelchair. It's property of the store and they should have been respectful of it, if they had damaged it, it wouldn't have been available for others. But the Karen should have brought it to the attention of an employee, not approached the herself.
5 days of silent treatment for buying a dish mat for yourself in with your own money to use in your own house without asking your house guest for permission? I wouldn’t feel so worried about tarnishing a relationship like this…

Honestly I kinda get where the Karen in the first story is coming from. I used to work at Walmart, and it is definitely not rare to see people take scooters and wheelchairs and derp around the store with them when they definitely aren’t in need of it. Yeah it’s all fun in games, until someone actually hurts themselves and sues the store, or if someone desperately needs one and 3 dudes are playing Mario Kart in the store. Granted it’s not her job to bug them about it, talk to a manager or something I hear Karens are good at that. And common sense, if they are bandage up, they’re likely not faking it. The most annoying managers would’ve have stopped there. Sorry the op was bugged about it in the store but just be wary about what playing in a wheelchair in a store looks like.
I work retail I see kids messing around them all the time. One morning at 8am two girls were just going back and forth backing them into the walls like bumper cars. Then one summer this group of friends were riding around in them. One of them needed a charge and one of the dumbasses rode his cart all the way to the end of the plaza. I’m so glad we have new motion tracking ones now.
I have to say, and one story I actually disagree and that was the one where the kid was in the hot tub. If they didn’t realize he was there until they turned around. It sounded like the kid was being quiet and I get it was a adult only area now if the dogs were in the nude and stuff like that, I would understand but other than that if he was just being quiet playing next to his mom. then I think they should’ve let the kids stay

Story 1: I 110% disagree. As a former retail work. As a former retail worker this kind of shit happens every day. It isn't appropriate and often causes damage to display units or products. This is creating more work for store employees. It is not ok and the Karen is justified in calling out this bad behavior.
Just because a kid MAY be neurodivergant does not give their parents the right to break rules and make the kid everyone elses problem. And yes, my neurodivergant kids are taught the rules, and I take care of them. Especially on vacation! They aren't anyone elses responsibility.
With the last story even if it is not nefarious, I've seen innocent friendships turn into romance and hurt the other partner. And the excuse is "it wasnt planned, it just happened, i didnt mean to fall in love with them" so ya. Be worried.

I have fetal dr*g effect and it completely screwed up my skeletal structure to the point that doing anything for too long, even standing still (AND TYPING THIS) causes pain. I literally once had a lady refuse to move for me when I asked her politely if she could possibly move her cart over a little bit because I needed to get past her to the pharmacy area. She actually moved her cart further in front of me and refused to look me in the eye. I do have a question, This morning i woke up to my grandma wanting me to take a shower and put on fancy clothes, She wanted me to wear long pants if i could not find shorts, (I don't wear long pants much since i sweat a lot) i said no but i asked her why i had to dress up so fancy for the morning and she said "Because we are going to a restaurant" she Never told me she Never told me we had to get ready for a restaurant. I told her that i kinda just didn't wanna go but she was upset when i didn't want to go. She said "Thats ugly of you not to go for everything (My grandmas daughter) did for you." I yes she did "Some" stuff for me. I'm not sure if you only take stories from Reddit, but if you would consider doing mine, I would appreciate it. It's not that dramatic, but here: When I was about seven or eight years old, my mom started dating again. I never had a dad growing up, so it was just me & my mom. When she started dating, I think she made a wrong choice. It's not the fact that my mom decided to be with another female, its the fact that the girl was an alcoholic. (I won't be saying their name or age for personal reasons.) So this girl was very nice to me when I first met her. I met her the day before Christmas, so the day after, I was forced to meet her family. Her mom, dad, brothers, her brothers wife & her nephews. They were all really nice to us, but I just didn't like the fact that my mom just told me this randomly. She didn't sit me down to have a talk, it just came out. So fast forward a year, my mom gets sick of living with her mom, dad & brother. We move in with her girlfriend & I hated it. It was really boring & I spent most of my time alone. The girl had a dog that she treasured like a princess. So let me remind you, I was 8 years old. I was still a kid, so yes, I did this. I liked to jump on her couch like a trampoline & pick up her dog. Obviously, she was furious & eventually I had to ask her if I could pet the dog. When we went back to our old house to pack more things, I went in my mom's room while she was on the phone. I dont remember what I said, but she turned to me, put the phone on silent & said, AND I QUOTE "You ruined my relationship." I to this day, can't belive she told me this. She said that she would always take my side & be there for me. She told me that I was the most important thing in the universe & still says that. She didn't tell me in a calm way, she had a furious look on her face & said it aggressively. Moving on, we lived at her place from January to April. They had a huge fight one night when I was sick. I was watching a movie in my room after I took some medicine. I heard them screaming from the room with the door closed. Then mom's girlfriend opened the door & told me "Your mom is pregnant, so its time for you to get out." I almost started crying. It was bad enough that I felt like crap, but then she told me that? She knew that I hated the idea of having another sibling, because I was scared of favoritism. I didn't want to be a shadow of another child. The next day, we packed our things & left to live with my grandpa, grandma & uncle. I asked my mom if she was actually pregnant, & thankfully, she wasn't. Fast forward again, to my ninth birthday. We went girt shopping, so I already knew most of the stuff that I was getting. The previous month, in April, I broke my wrist & had a cast. (That story is not for another time.) So the day of my birthday, I got to take off the cast. That night, I set up a tent on my bed & slept in it. I woke up at neat 12:00 to screaming. I didn't know what they were even fighting about. (I spent the night at her Girlfriend's house that night.) The next thing I know, my mom went into my room & started taking my things, putting them in bags. She told me to go wait in the car, so I did. We drove back home, it was a 2 hour drive. A while later, I was busy playing a game in the car, while my mom & her girlfriend were at the the store. Her girlfriend got in the car & asked me a question. I didn't respond, since I was busy. She was furious. She left the car & then my mom came in. She told me to apologize to her, & I had no problem doing so. When she got in the car, I told her that I was sorry for ignoring her, but this entitled lady said, "No, im not gonna let some little girl make me cry" while tears were streaming down her face. I swear, I hated this lady more than anyone I've ever met. She was so dramatic. My mom heard this & was extremely disgusted. She then replied with, "I'm not gonna let some woman treat my daughter like that. She apologized." Its been years since that happened, & my mom still keeps in contact with her. She's trying to stop drinking & isn't so entitled anymore, so I'd say this was a good ending. That's it.
Last story: So let me start this off by saying that I do think guys and girls can be friends. That said, I feel the GF is going about this in a very suspect way. How? She is doing things that OP clearly wanted to do with her, first, with this other guy. This, to me, is not a good sign. It means she either likes the coworker or wants to keep his attention. Neither of which, imo, are good. Also, why place OP as an afterthought as a sort of “oh yeah we can come back to you after we finish our thing”? I am not saying the GF cannot have male friends. But the way one goes with establishing friendships during a relationship needs to take into account their partner. Friendships need to include the partner so both parties can feel comfortable during the times one is absent from the other. With that in mind, the GF is failing at that and honestly I would hold off on buying a home and wait a couple more years to see how this goes.
Story #4 I know that it's hard to hear this. But you were nothing but his side chick. All the signs were there and you just ignored them. Oh well! Sucks to suck!
There was no need to "prove" anything to anyone. If someone's bothering you, you ask staff for help. It comes down to OP and friends starting the whole thing with their jacking around inappropriately. It's no wonder someone thought they were faking. Not Karen's place to confront them, but not their place to be jacking around, either.

Karen should have accepted the OP's word that she was entitled to use the wheelchair. Und as others have said, anyone who thinks that someone who is using a business provided wheelchair or mobility scooter doesn't have a legitimate need to use it. They, if no other reason than their own safety. Should *NEVER* confront the person. Instead they should go to a store employee with their concerns. Take them somewhere to pet puppies or bring them goofy balloons or something. You don't jack around in a store in a wheelchair. Just because one peeks around a corner to the next aisle and doesn't right off see anyone or because one thinks there's not a lot of people there or whatever doesn't mean that by the time you run and push the chair around that corner that there won't be someone there. I've been run into. It's not fun. *THAT'S* what's wrong with it.

But the craft stores that I have been in have had a more upbeat, happy, almost party vibe. Hell, there have been times at several of the big box stores. Either myself or another customer or an employee have come close to colliding *NOT* that anyone did anything wrong, it does just happens. We'd joke und laugh about it, saying something like "let's play bumper cars," or "don't worry next time I'll run you over," then we all laugh und go on our way. *EVERYONE* feeling better for having had a little unexpected fun in their life.
@@DigitalCowboy000 Accidentally bumping into someone walking at normal speed pushing a cart or wheelchair at a corner is a whole different thing than having someone who is running, pushing a wheelchair as fast as they can, crash into you. Wheelchairs have metal footplates sticking out in front and so forth. It's very different from a store cart or even an electric cart. There's no *valid* reason for anyone to be doing stuff like this in a store. It's dangerous and stupid. As I said before, there are plenty of ways to help someone cheer up that are reasonable and safe. This is NOT one of them.
First i see u needed the wheelchair but the let people have fun if not need wheelchair i disagree. Do u kw how many xs stores had no available cart or wheelchair because people playing with them n not needed. So if needed i get bit if not needed leave it for those who need the chair.
It's completely wrong to use wheelchairs or electric carts as playthings for any reason. They are mobility aids for people who need them, not toys. They can say all they want that they weren't hurting anyone, but they just lucked out. All it would take would be zooming around a corner and flattening a little kid or knocking a fragile senior to the ground or hitting someone so hard you break their leg with the chair. Checking an aisle first doesn't mean someone couldn't have entered the aisle after you "checked". Karen didn't need to confront them herself, she could have gone to staff, but OP and their group are a bunch of jerks who need to grow up.

She didn't tell me in a calm way, she had a furious look on her face & said it aggressively. Moving on, we lived at her place from January to April. They had a huge fight one night when I was sick. I was watching a movie in my room after I took some medicine. I heard them screaming from the room with the door closed. Then mom's girlfriend opened the door & told me "Your mom is pregnant, so its time for you to get out." I almost started crying. It was bad enough that I felt like crap, but then she told me that? She knew that I hated the idea of having another sibling, because I was scared of favoritism. I didn't want to be a shadow of another child. The next day, we packed our things & left to live with my grandpa, grandma & uncle. I asked my mom if she was actually pregnant, & thankfully, she wasn't. Fast forward again, to my ninth birthday. We went girt shopping, so I already knew most of the stuff that I was getting. The previous month, in April, I broke my wrist & had a cast. (That story is not for another time.) So the day of my birthday, I got to take off the cast. That night, I set up a tent on my bed & slept in it. I woke up at neat 12:00 to screaming. I didn't know what they were even fighting about. (I spent the night at her Girlfriend's house that night.) The next thing I know, my mom went into my room & started taking my things, putting them in bags. She told me to go wait in the car, so I did. We drove back home, it was a 2 hour drive. A while later, I was busy playing a game in the car, while my mom & her girlfriend were at the the store. Her girlfriend got in the car & asked me a question. I didn't respond, since I was busy. She was furious. She left the car & then my mom came in. She told me to apologize to her, & I had no problem doing so. When she got in the car, I told her that I was sorry for ignoring her, but this entitled lady said, "No, im not gonna let some little girl make me cry" while tears were streaming down her face. I swear, I hated this lady more than anyone I've ever met. She was so dramatic. My mom heard this & was extremely disgusted. She then replied with, "I'm not gonna let some woman treat my daughter like that. She apologized." Its been years since that happened, & my mom still keeps in contact with her. She's trying to stop drinking & isn't so entitled anymore, so I'd say this was a good ending.

Last story: So let me start this off by saying that I do think guys and girls can be friends. That said, I feel the GF is going about this in a very suspect way. How? She is doing things that OP clearly wanted to do with her, first, with this other guy. This, to me, is not a good sign. It means she either likes the coworker or wants to keep his attention. Neither of which, imo, are good. Also, why place OP as an afterthought as a sort of “oh yeah we can come back to you after we finish our thing”?
I am not saying the GF cannot have male friends. But the way one goes with establishing friendships during a relationship needs to take into account their partner. Friendships need to include the partner so both parties can feel comfortable during the times one is absent from the other.
With that in mind, the GF is failing at that and honestly I would hold off on buying a home and wait a couple more years to see how this goes.

There was no need to "prove" anything to anyone. If someone's bothering you, you ask staff for help. It comes down to OP and friends starting the whole thing with their jacking around inappropriately. It's no wonder someone thought they were faking. Not Karen's place to confront them, but not their place to be jacking around, either.

Yes, the OP was under *NO* obligation to prove to the Karen that she was entitled to using the wheelchair. Karen should have accepted the OP's word that she was entitled to use the wheelchair. Und as others have said, anyone who thinks that someone who is using a business provided wheelchair or mobility scooter doesn't have a legitimate need to use it.
They, if no other reason than their own safety. Should *NEVER* confront the person. Instead they should go to a store employee with their concerns.

Take them somewhere to pet puppies or bring them goofy balloons or something. You don't jack around in a store in a wheelchair. Just because one peeks around a corner to the next aisle and doesn't right off see anyone or because one thinks there's not a lot of people there or whatever doesn't mean that by the time you run and push the chair around that corner that there won't be someone there. I've been run into. It's not fun. *THAT'S* what's wrong with it.
@@nadinesharp9766 if I remember correctly, they were in a craft store. I don't know about the craft stores near you. But the craft stores that I have been in have had a more upbeat, happy, almost party vibe.
Hell, there have been times at several of the big box stores. Either myself or another customer or an employee have come close to colliding *NOT* that anyone did anything wrong, it does just happens.
We'd joke und laugh about it, saying something like "let's play bumper cars," or "don't worry next time I'll run you over," then we all laugh und go on our way. *EVERYONE* feeling better for having had a little unexpected fun in their life.
@@DigitalCowboy000 Accidentally bumping into someone walking at normal speed pushing a cart or wheelchair at a corner is a whole different thing than having someone who is running, pushing a wheelchair as fast as they can, crash into you. Wheelchairs have metal footplates sticking out in front and so forth. It's very different from a store cart or even an electric cart. There's no *valid* reason for anyone to be doing stuff like this in a store. It's dangerous and stupid. As I said before, there are plenty of ways to help someone cheer up that are reasonable and safe. This is NOT one of them.
First i see u needed the wheelchair but the let people have fun if not need wheelchair i disagree. Do u kw how many xs stores had no available cart or wheelchair because people playing with them n not needed. So if needed i get bit if not needed leave it for those who need the chair.
It's completely wrong to use wheelchairs or electric carts as playthings for any reason. They are mobility aids for people who need them, not toys. They can say all they want that they weren't hurting anyone, but they just lucked out. All it would take would be zooming around a corner and flattening a little kid or knocking a fragile senior to the ground or hitting someone so hard you break their leg with the chair. Checking an aisle first doesn't mean someone couldn't have entered the aisle after you "checked". Karen didn't need to confront them herself, she could have gone to staff, but OP and their group are a bunch of jerks who need to grow up.
