This is my reaction to Svenska nyheter - Sinophobia is not ok
In this video I react to Swedish comedy satire television show venska nyheter and their take on Chinese tourists and the Chinese government.

Good times, I catched this on TV. Almost shat myself laughing... Indian Food and comedy doesn't mix well apparently.
That is actually a very funny way to tackle criticism. Atleast it is better than what many arab nations do when someone in another country does something they do not appreciate (death threats and bounties)
China is still a dicatorship though and not a very nice place for the common chinese person to live in

I honestly think you would enjoy all the episodes of "Svenska nyheter", it is an entire show of political satire. It is nice because you laugh and you learn things too. They often start in one angle and then after a bit you learn that situations are complex and you get some more info. It is quite nice. They almost made Sweden unable to join Nato due to picking on Turkey. :-)

It's pretty much a swedish version of "Last week tonight" or "The Daily show".
I wouldn't call reporting on a dictatorship "picking on" them. Certainly not while they are conducting an ethnic clensing of the part of northern Syria they invaded.

The show is pretty much Last Week Tonight but Swedish. This particular episode wasn't the last to cause international political incidents
The difference from 'last week tonight' is that Svenska nyheter doesn't lie.
Several American shows, like Last week tonight has been sued for their already disproved "news". They have however never been sentenced because they openly say that the
program is humourous and not factual.

I love Messiah but he doesn't even come close to Jesper Rönndahl.
Messiah is great and much better than kristoffer, but Jesper was easily the best. I was sad to see him leave.

Might I suggest the quiz show “Invandrare för svenskar”, very funny show and you’ll learn more about the culture of us Swedes of immigrant backgrounds. Very offensive jokes towards everyone, it’s great banter
It is actually true that Chinese tourists peed and pooped in streets and squares, behind shops and in private staircases and gardens. There were bus trips that stopped at various small communities on the west coast of Sweden. It became such a big and disgusting problem that they had to fix the whole thing. A Chinese shame!

Before China and Russia became best buddies, there was actually several Chinese tourists that was jailed for taking a dump inside museums and food stores.

@@znail4675 In China they have strict laws and highly efficient police, so I guess they think it's ok abroad as long as they don't get caught with the crime. The fact is that people on vacation do NOT behave the same way as at home. Many behave more carelessly and rudely towards others. "Nobody knows me, so I do what I want."
Kristina Lugn was a Swedish poet.
I think she appeared in a segment earlier in the show.
And she talked VERY slowly...
And she talks really calmly and slow.

The one you asked about first was Povel Ramel. You have reacted to his biggest fan, Henrik Dorsin a few times.
Povel Ramel was a musical and comedy genius that could have been internationally famous in the 50's and 60's like, say, Victor Borge if he'd been working in English. He tried a few times but it didn't come off.

I used to like Svenska Nyheter back when Jesper Rönndal was hosting (like in this clip). His team successfully toed the line between informative and impertinent. My favorite was the "Skol-ko" episode. Then when Kristoffer Appelkvist took over, it seemed like the writing room had been taken over by 14 year old edgelords with zero desire to fact-check, so I stopped keeping up. The newest host, Messiah Lastname (or whatever it was) is just unbearably smug from the clips I've seen, so I've never watched a full episode of his show.

Svenska Nyheter translates to ”Swedish News”. You know, as opposed to the non-Swedish news everyone else is broadcasting, lol.
That bear is "Björne" (pronounced Bjoerne) from "Björnes Magasin", that was aired 1987-2000 and reinstated shortly 2002-2004 with a different actor. It is probably THE most well known kids show in Sweden from that time era.
The show was hosted by Björne who had mid acts in between different cartoons. Björne was wholeheartedly kind to all and everyone, but quite often rather oblivious and had to be explained in depths to understand. Björne can be perceived as homosexual in his appearance, voice and manner, that's why they put a picture on him there.
Edit: Robert Gustavsson often appeared on Björnes Magasin, including the first episode.
Björne is for children !!

Nile City is the MAJOR hit series by Killinggänget (Robert Gustafsson, Johan Rehborg, Henrik Schyffert, Jonas Inde, etc).
Except their first show "i manegen med Glenn Killing", it's pretty much the introduction of the Swedish era of ironic humor in the 90's. The follow up to the series was later "Percy tårar".

Jesper Rönnlund the host of Svenska Nyheter, is from my region of Sweden, the good region, one of the funniest comedians in Sweden.

I used to watch this back when it was new. This one has a few years to it by now. The program is still going, but they are on their third host now I think, and I stopped watching when this guy, Jesper Rönndahl, who was the first host, stepped down. Only watched a couple of episodes with the second host and none of the third host. I'm sure they do a fine job, but Jesper was the OG and also it's on so late in the evening on Fridays, and I've never been one for watching reruns or VOD's on the Play service.

Great reaction. Jesper is a great comedian. This used to be a great show. The current show host is pretty unbearable though unfortunatly.
More recent seasons have taken to completely ruthlessly kick swedish politics in the ribs for all the absurd mismanagement thats going on. It's fantastic, it is a wonderful way to actually bring attention to real problems to the masses.
There was an episode where another host were making satire about Erdogan. It reached Turkey....

In a follow-up segment - following massive Chinese backlash as a result of this clip - Jesper apologized to the Chinese people, but made a point of underscoring that his apology did not extend to the Chinese regime.

I met a Chinese yesterday and i asked what his name was. He said "Ling" and i asked if that was first name or surename? Then he answered "my name is Ling Ling". I got very confused and asked is your name Ling Ling? Ling said "Solly i have terrefone, Harrow?".
Basically the reason he said "Kristina Lugn this is the slowest way to die" is cause she had reporters trying ask critical questions to her and she tried to get them off her by saying "You have to get away from here. I'm smoking, you're gonna die"

The Swedes have always been admirable when it comes to standing up for democracy and freedom of expression. But things are slowly but surely changing there too. The NATO application and the gang violence have been bad for democracy.

I think the scary part about comedy about racism is that racism actually exist. There ARE people who get the crap kicked out of them, based on their skin colour... but most people getting their ass handed to them, not only in Sweden but in general, are being assholes all the way to someone who doesn't take any crap and hands them their ass. This person in turn is often also an asshole. And sometimes that asshole hands you your ass just for being there, peacefully.
I guess you just gotta be lucky with what people you meet, and hopefully you have common sense, else you become part of some tragic statistic.
Anyway, people are generally kinda similar the world over. The very most are peaceful, living in harmony with the other harmonic people. Then there are piss pants, some of which goes into politics and piss all over relationships between harmonic people divided by country lines they didn't sign off on, by stirring up irritation among the few assholes on both sides of the country line.
