7:57 - You've never seen the analgoue booking place? Instead of signing up online or with an app to schedule your time in the laundry room (communal laundry for those living in the apartments, not laundry for everyone like how the US can have Laundromats where people bring their stuff) this is the old version. Each apartment gets a little lock (similar but smaller style to the one in your front door) and you place that lock on this board to book a date and timeslot. Because it is locked in place you can't move someone else's which menas no one can just take your timeslot.
Only problem with such things as Bank ID is that its so integreted that it can be really hard for non citizens that live here(without personal number etc) to do things
And since it´s run by the banks they control it all. Including what OS you have in your computer - BankID decided to only support windows and ios... ☹ It should have been an online service run by the government instead of a profit searching company.
@@thomash3716 I agree, BankID should been a platform to host various types of electronic identifications, with that platform and general application being open-source and maintained by like Skatteverket or something. Since then it not only would be more secure, but also free (as in freedom) and it would allow for easier development and support of every operating system that people use. But also they do support Android currently. I'm was able to use the app fine with my ADB de-googled OxygenOS, using Micro-G instead of Play Services and so far the apps runs fine and i've had no issues.
BankID is great, the only problem is that most serious businesses in Sweden use it for payments, so Swedish people think it's mandatory to sign with it when you use a credit card. In reality you can just pay with the credit card without BankID, it's up to the recipient. So you can get scammed when you think you are 100% safe. As long as you know that it's fine but most people don't.
The only negative thing i can say about bank id is that it makes the banks not having toreimburse people if they get robbed. Sometimes thes people call old people and since they have the phone number all they need is the bank id code, so they call and say its from the bank or whatever and they need u to tell them the code u have. Obv most people wouldnt do this coz its obv a scam but old people who might have problems actually tell those people the code and obv their account is empty afterwards and the bank refuse to reimburse. Berry picking, u can go into the woods anywhere and find berries and u dont have to pay, obv u cant go into someones lot and pick berries.
Swede here, why Us dont include taxes in the price, all states even towns have different sale taxes. Its a mindfield. Think of bank id as a personal password, that works for alot of things.
Jesus Christ mate, I'm a Swede in Australia and the one thing I miss the most is BankID. Here, to verify your identity, you have to submit signed copies of your driver license, your Medicare card and utilities bills. It's nuts. They don't even have a nationally recognised ID card system. Just imagine trying to run a business, to hire someone, I need about ten documents. It's crazy. Don't get me wrong though, Oz is a great place. They just don't know how bad they are at ID stuff, online and IRL. A bubble.
Rasberry (hallon) grown in the wild has small worms (not poisonous, only disgusting!) in them quite often, but garden-grown has none. And they are a bit bigger as well.
We have a completely digitalized booking system for laundry rooms where I live-you need an Electronic tag which your landlord provide. You can also book by logging in on your phone and nobody else can get in to the laundry room on your booked time=no theft and nobody can take your time. Cause if it's something Swedes hate it is having their laundry room booking intruded on😉
So what do you do when internet is down, or if you don't want to pay for having internet, or a PC, or a smart phone? Sounds like a horrible forced digital system to me.
"The coffe is so much better here, like...Yes" YES is for doing dishes, not coffee, so I wonder what she is drinking ;) By the way, don't complain if the taxes are not added into the price if it is 7%. Here it's either 15 or 25% depending on what you are buying, so I guess it's around the same cost.
Just to make this super clear. Any citizen required-service you might have as a Swedish citizen is done online today. Meaning you pay your taxes, applies for driving permits and deal with your potential debts towards creditors. This in not unique across Europe, fun fact is that Ukraine is leading this front in terms of tracking down citizens, for obvious reasons, and also applying it to new services. While is does in practice offer citizens the option of visiting an office, in a city, to apply/deal with bureaucratic issues, this is the new way.
Wherever I go in the entire world, including Sweden, I am always disappointed with the coffee if it isn't Arvid Nordquist Franskrost. All other coffee is irrelevant. Wait....there used to be another one but it is so elusive now, have just seen (and bought) it once in many years: Löfbergs Lila Crescendo. It is on par!
BankID is greate if you can get it, as it coperation between the big banks, so if you not a swedish citizen or want to use a small back, you may not get BankID, and then some services can't be used at all.
Yeah, it's a forced mandatory must these days. No alternatives really. That is why I do not like it. You could also try to get an ID that the government issues, it also has a sort of digital id code, but it is not as usable in so many places online. It's called an E-identity, or something like that. You do not get that on ID cards issued by the Police stations, only the ones issued at the so called service stations or tax goverment buildings.
Well, yeah Bank-id is the best! So simple and quick way to verify your identity. You use it every day more or less. Our coffee is very good and have a very high quality. The thing with taxes that we have is very easy indeed, BUT we are paying taxes of the taxes we already paid. I pay taxes every time I buy something or when I get my salary, but somehow it often gets wrong and you have to pay more because they decided that you paid too little during the year. But also you can be paid back because of that you had paid too much. I think Sweden have the highest taxes in the world, but we also have free healthcare too.
Without Bank ID when living in Sweden you're basically are a stranded fish. You need it for all financial or goverment errands, more & more purchases etc. Its a must. So far, it has not been any severe critical issues.
@catd11ng74 Can do most things but then u have to do it manually, on site; bank transfers, see doctors appointments, log in to governement service sites etc etc. It's like sayi g you'll do fine without a smartphone, use a Nokia fr 1999.
@periculosumadversario Using a Nokia fr 1999 works just fine. It can still do what it's supposed to do. No problem calling or be called with an old phone. So no you are not stranded like a fish. You can still continue with your life.
BankID is... I don't know how bad it would be without it, well I do know since I lived in Germany for a few years... life without BankID is annoying, let's leave it at that.
That's exactly the trap they want you to fall into. Making not having one such a hassle that you think you want one and need one. It has become a forced thing, not a choice.
@@Wintermist-SWE If it truly is a free "choice" then try to chose to be without one in Sweden. Then tell me how much of a "choice" it really is. I think the basis for propaganda is that when you have managed to weane people into believing they by their own free will they actually want what you tried to advertise to them, is when the propaganda has really succeeded. Then any other choice can be removed and the transition into what the people behind the propaganda wanted to implemented remains the only choice. Then the people are fully braiwashed into believing the propaganda without even realizing it.
Yes BankID is great but coffee nowadays are so expensive just like a lot of other things but if you want coffee you have to pay..... and coffee is the best.....
There has been a lot of incidents where a person that is close to another person sees the other person enter their code and then steals their phone and uses it to buy things on credit. Happened to my friend with her now ex boyfriend. He did it while she was sleeping because he was a scumbag. Bought an expensive bike. Usually when BankID has been used they see it as if it must have been the real person doing it. So it's 50/50 if you can dispute it successfully.
I like it. Makes life 200% easier, but there is a negative side to this and it's how they vastly leaned into this world and completely left our not-so-tech-savvy elders behind. It's hard for them with all these apps all the time. I have, i think (one of them hasn't come by in a while), four elderly ladies in my apartment complex that come knocking on my door every time they have to do something necessary like paying their bills or booking their doctors appointments. Obviously I will help them, but maybe we shouldn't have gone too fast and taken away the old system before those who only used that one still were around.
Yeah, that is partly why i don't like it at all. It's not a choice anymore, it's a must. Forced upon us under propaganda slogans such as "for your convenience" etc.
You have to have BankID on two units, just in case. You can have it on your daily phone and an old phone, or a pad. I think the maximum is tree BankID.

Bank id is great and very very secure. Coffee cost 7-8 dollars not 3. It's easy to file taxes in Sweden, if you don't have a house or a company and dont own a lot.. "fredagsmys", means "Friday cozyness"
BankID is fantastic
I love the Bank ID system, it makes life so much easier
I agree, but I'm happy they are working on solutions now.
The trick with raspberries is to not look, the maggots taste the same.
Lol!👍
Swish and bankid is great
Swede here, why Us dont include taxes in the price, all states even towns have different sale taxes. Its a mindfield.
Think of bank id as a personal password, that works for alot of things.
Fredagsmys is not only chilling with the family, it's also eating crisps, candy and watch TV. You can't do that every day.
lol never knew bank id was something special to sweden :D
Jesus Christ mate, I'm a Swede in Australia and the one thing I miss the most is BankID. Here, to verify your identity, you have to submit signed copies of your driver license, your Medicare card and utilities bills. It's nuts. They don't even have a nationally recognised ID card system. Just imagine trying to run a business, to hire someone, I need about ten documents. It's crazy.
Don't get me wrong though, Oz is a great place. They just don't know how bad they are at ID stuff, online and IRL. A bubble.
The prices of coffe has increased a lot since this video was made.
Rasberry (hallon) grown in the wild has small worms (not poisonous, only disgusting!) in them quite often, but garden-grown has none. And they are a bit bigger as well.
Så odlade hallon kan inte ha mask? Herregud... 🙄
@@Herkan Inte mina under 23 år i alla fall!
@Lord_Funk You go to the laundry room and book directly on a screen outside the door and use your tag to "identify" yourself
It's difficulty for elderly people or others who can't use a bank-ID they out-locked from many things.
"The coffe is so much better here, like...Yes" YES is for doing dishes, not coffee, so I wonder what she is drinking ;)
By the way, don't complain if the taxes are not added into the price if it is 7%. Here it's either 15 or 25% depending on what you are buying, so I guess it's around the same cost.
Well, about coffee, americans dont have (drink) coffee. What americans drink is colored water. Slightly colored water.
Coffee here is like at lest 50sek for like a good coffee. And up to like 60 to 70 kr
Lol!! No you're not like a stranded fish without bank id. You can still do everything. Bank id just makes it easier.
@catd11ng74 Can do most things but then u have to do it manually, on site; bank transfers, see doctors appointments, log in to governement service sites etc etc. It's like sayi g you'll do fine without a smartphone, use a Nokia fr 1999.
@periculosumadversario
Using a Nokia fr 1999 works just fine. It can still do what it's supposed to do. No problem calling or be called with an old phone. So no you are not stranded like a fish. You can still continue with your life.
@catd11ng74 That is still a matter of definition. Depends on what "life" is.
@@periculosumadversario
You're only lazy. I bet you could continue your everyday life even without a phone.
@@Lord_Funk Eh... it IS by choice, it's the best you could ask for.
Sluta att gnälla, gör det hemma och ta med 😄
When we have fredagsmys we use to eat something extra nice food and may have som candy and chips.
The price of coffee (in sweden) has changed alot in the wake of inflation during the last few years :(
which other countries than sweden and japan take off their shoes when they enter a home?
13:00 when i was growing up we had popcorn and chips and not tacos.
Make a video about traveling to Sweden for a visit
Coffee price has gone up though
I would say, You are lost in Sweden without a working BankID.
I lost my phone and had a struggle in my life for nearly 10 days.
@@Geekhobby Unfortunetly not on a too old phone. You might get the BankID app to run, but then if you try to also run it in conjunction with your bank acct app (and some other apps) it will not work. They require that you have an up-to-date O/S (operating system). Phones only get O/S updates for a certain number of years. If you have an older smartphone (not even very old), you for example can't even use the Postnord app to order direct to a lockbox, since it will not work to open the box. It's the same with many apps.
So basically all this "forcing" digital BankID on us has done is push more new smartphone and PC sales (put the cost on the customers). Force people to buy all that. Just imagine next year when support for win 10 runs out and you can't use that to log into your bank anymore (if a pc is all you use). Then you will be forced to get a newer PC which supports win 11 with all it's arbitrary hardware requirements. About 65% of PC's in the wortld run win 10 as of July 2024, only 31% runs win 11. Of course the tech companies cheers on governemnts and banks for forcing the whole digitalization upon us. It's all about the bottom line. Never about what is best for the people in general.

Yes, all mensright makes berry picking easy and fun!❤
Bank id is in all the Nordic countries I guess.
Not liking shoehorns is like saying no to modern civilization. 🤣🤣🤣
Bank ID is convenient but it is also an instrument of surveillance. Many people forget this.
As long as you don't have anything to hide it doesn't matter
@@catd11ng74 I have not. But I don't have anything to show either - that's the point.
The banks, with or without the help of the state, can also close your BankID at any time without explanation and then you become almost financially serf.

It doesn't matter to me. If they want to close my bank id so what. I can still do what i want. And i'm pretty sure they don't close any bank id if there isn't anything suspisious.
