Jacob’s musical universe is so cinematic, honest, and tastefully instinctual. Steeped in the old and bathed in the new. This guy is truly a musical savior!! Shout out to his fantastic and talented team!!!
I'm so conflicted by this. It's like he cant dance but can at the exact same time. He is literally the personification of his music. Both on and off beat in the most complex way that still makes sense but leaves you wondering how is that possible?
That’s how I feel about his voice. In terms of tone, I much prefer someone like Daniel Caesar, but I find that Jacob’s voice works wonderfully as an instrument, it’s interesting and pitch perfect, as well as tastefully composed, layered and mastered. And it is by no means offensive or distracting. I’d give it a 7/10 👍
In Argentina, in the 60s, there was a rock singer whose sweaters were as famous as he was. And today, when the fans meet him once a year, he raffles one original and one new!!! Maybe in the future, Jacobs do the same! :) :)
Jacob Collier has such a command of the language of music. He reminds me of Prince, that innovative, effortless harmony, the layering of vocals, the instrumental virtuosity and talent. He’s so young too, and he is just getting started.
This is my personal favourite so far! You are the sound of the future. Millenials and Gen Z have the most exposure to different genres of music (because of recent technology). The generations to come will soon tire of the familiar sounds and look for something new. And YOU are that "new". And it's good. It's like the birth of a whole new kind of genre. There was the rise of jazz, and then rock, and then pop, and now THIS. "Fusion" would be a good genre title, I think.

I’ve been writing dance music for 30 years and never managed to write such a funky chorus as this. His synthetic brass and bass parts in the chorus are so gooooooood. As well as the incredible imagination in the other parts of the song and Jacob’s lack of fear in his arranging choices. Bravo!

Amateur musician here and I cannot express how happy I am to hear all of those “weird chords” fully realized! So many musicians build beautifully dissonant chords but there is always a note or two missing so it’s like a beautiful dress- lovely and but flaccid and inanimate. But THIS GUY makes a freaking couture dress and puts a lady inside it and she lives and breathes and dances.

Diego Davalos it’s thirst traps made by teenage boys and girls, for the opposite sex. It’s just entirely different from “gay” TikTok. I’ve been on a lot of the different places on TikTok and the “straight” side is the only one that’s creeepy. That’s all I’m saying. It’s not about sexuality.

I’ve been writing dance music for 30 years and never managed to write such a funky chorus as this. His synthetic brass and bass parts in the chorus are so gooooooood. As well as the incredible imagination in the other parts of the song and Jacob’s lack of fear in his arranging choices. Bravo!

Amateur musician here and I cannot express how happy I am to hear all of those “weird chords” fully realized! So many musicians build beautifully dissonant chords but there is always a note or two missing so it’s like a beautiful dress- lovely and but flaccid and inanimate. But THIS GUY makes a freaking couture dress and puts a lady inside it and she lives and breathes and dances.
Everything just seems to be right when I listen to Jacob Collier's songs. He transforms songs into places where I really like to be.
I like how this song is the easiest to listen compared to other Jacob's songs. And still he killed it with an awesome dance video idea, and he seems as joyful as ever.
