The best shoot I've seen in such a long time . He's a true gentleman and an excellent ambassador for wrestling . It's nice not to have to listen to some bitter jealous had been talk shit about every one .
I found this one of the best and informative shoot interviews I have ever heard. Raymond shows his passion and expertise upon the wrestling business and his Rougeu pride. He is quite articulate even as he touched upon potentially, emotionally and volatile topics and past experiences. He also was humble to share his respect for his past colleagues in the business. I learnt so much from this shoot during a wrestling era that I was all too familiar with from my main viewership years.
I was never a fan of Raymond Rougeau while I was growing up and watching the WWF, so I was hesitant to even invest my time in this interview. However, after watching the whole thing, I have to say that I am glad I did. He seems to be a solid, honest individual, and I really like that. He now has a new fan, and that is probably the greatest compliment I can give him. Fabulous interview!
It is a rare thing to see a guy from his era in seemingly good health, in good spirits, not destitute and not so bitter about the business that he has to hate one everything and everyone. Absolutely deserves a Hall of Fame Induction. Wonderful interview!
Have huge respect for Raymond. With his class as a person I like to rewatch this interview to feel good and remind myself how good people can be in life and business. Thank Hannibal and Raymond for this interview.
Merci to Raymond for his time shared in this interview. He and his family are legendary for their achievements in professional wrestling. I've always had respect for them and after watching this I could listen to Raymond talk for hours. He is a true class act. Merci encore une fois!
A true gent. Look at his eyes - there is no lying there regarding the Dynamite Kid Story - same with his brother. I could listen to him and his brother relate the story again and again and not get bored.
HANNIBAL TV, thank you so much. I really enjoyed the Rougeau’s. What a gentleman and classy individual. I watched / listened to this interview twice. I wish I was always this Eloquent. I also enjoyed his brother Jacque interview. Thank you again.
Excellent interview! Raymond Rougeau comes across as a genuinely nice guy.He and his brother Jaques were a great tag team and it was a shame that they never got a run as the tag team champs.
I absolutely hated him and his brother when they were in the WWF because of how well they pulled off the heel role. But the shoots Ive watched with Raymond show him to be a easy going, classy guy. It's hard not to like him after this interview.
I watched that shoot 8 times. Its really my favorite of the channel. Ray should do a podcast or something like that. I really think he would be perfect for that
Great guy. Met him in Hull in early 70"s him and is dad where so nice to a newby like me really appreciated them. Still is a gentlemen after all this time bravo Raymond
Fabulous interview with Ray... Never been a fan but now I am and they should be recognized /introduced into WWE HOF... What a shame! I'm going to watch his brother interview now lol Thx Hannibal.. Awesome work! 💪🏻
Just a simple sound advice: record your interviews with mono sound or transfer your sound track to mono afterwards. I'm listening with headphones and I hear Raymond in the left channel only and your questions in the right channel. ;)
A class act all the way! I still have the Raw Magazine with pics of his boxing match with Owen Hart. With a pic of Ray and his son after his triumphant bout.
Just seeing that for the first time. What a great interview. I'm from Montreal, and I grew up in my teens with the Rougeaus, and Dino Bravo, Gino Brito, Rickie Martel, Maurice Vachon, Pat "le rêve du Québec" Patterson, Abdullah the Butcher, le Géant Ferré (André the Giant), and others. I do agree that the best feud was the Rougeaus vs. the Garvins, the intensity was off this world. First time I went to see a wrestling show was at the forum in 1985, and it was the first with the WWF. We had The Rougeaus vs. the Garvins in a Texas Tornado Match, Steamboat vs. Don Murraco, and Dino Bravo and King Tonga (Haku/Meng) vs. The Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff not that long after they had lost their title to the US Express (who in turn had lost them to the Dream Team of Valentine and Beefcake).
Thank You. The Rougeaus were big in Sudbury ON(which was part of Montreal Territory). I've seen them wrestle the Garvin's in a cage match at the Sudbury Arena in 1985 when I was 11. We got the program every Sat. at 12pm on MCTV and 6pm on the French station TVA(replaced by french WWF with same announcer's as Mont.). After they folded in 87 because of the WWF invasion we were serviced by the AWA till 1989 when the WWF came to town with 3 shows in 3 years and that was the last time we had a legitimate promotion that held a card in Sudbury.
+Fanik10 From 1980-87 it was known as Lutte Internationale(french) International wrestling (English). Between 80-84 Andre the Giant was an owner. Their territory was Province of Quebec and Northern and Eastern Ontario.
By far one of the greatest stories on this channel, great interview by both Hannibal and Raymond, enjoy hearing these stories, especially growing up watching these guys back in the day, thank you keep them coming 👍
Sounds like a man's man, stand up and classy guy. Really surprised him and Jacques are not in the WWE hall of fame yet. Especially since how loyal he has been to Vince. There are people in the hall of fame that have never worked for WWE and have had issues with them and yet the Rougeaus are not in. Crazy that the WWF tag teams of Demolition, Hart Foundation, Rougeaus, British Bulldogs, Rockers none of them are in yet. A lot of them even deserve to be in for their singles careers, other than Bret/Shawn who are in. Yet strangely the Bushwackers are in before all these teams(and I do appreciate and liked them) and the rumor is Nasty Boys will be going in next year..
Saw a lot of matches with the Garvins and they were the best......also saw the Rougeaus pile drive Eddy Creatchman's head into the mat....wild.......March 1,2016.
His matches in montreal were awesome! Saw them on tv in the 80s on city tv. Needs to be in hall of fame. If you think of wrestling families- his whole family should be in as well.
Watched hundreds of these shoot interviews, and I gotta say, this guy is the classiest dude ever. Even as a kid, as much as I marked out to the heel work, I always admired the Fabulous Rougeus. Now I know why. Great interview. Cool guy. Totally professional.
I love how most of his stories have the same theme. “I showed respect, we got along, I had no problem, he was a nice guy”. Goes to show a little bit of maturity and respect and a lot of hard work will open doors.
This guy is the man. I don't know what else to say. Honest and fully of integrity. Well spoken, obviously takes good care of himself and is a responsible guy. There's a reason why Vince always wanted to find jobs for him.
Thank you and your brother, yall made it so easy to love and hate you. I think one of the best singles and teams of all time. Oh and thanks for the great memories i just relived.
Always liked Raymond. Never got why him and Jacques got so much heat with other wrestlers. True gentleman. Im English and im glad Jacques got back at Dynamite. He may be my countries greatest ever Wrestler but he was a bully. The theme tune for the Rougeous was Awesome too.
Raymond is a role model wrestler when it comes to making it a career. great In-ring and on mic talent, clean lifetstyle, healthy post retirement, financially secure, total pro
His Copperfield example is perfect. In the age of social media, there are more/better opportunities to kayfabe angles and gimmicks. Just because we know its fake doesn't mean that you should acknowledge that your product is fake.
+Joe S A friend of mine and avid wrestling fan loved the spoilers. Totally ruined my Monday Nights when he would tell me what's gonna happen. I still don't understand that one.
He doesn’t appear to think he’s a legend or bigger than the sport like some others. He’s the guy you sit at the bar with and buy drinks just so you can listen to his stories.
Only going from the interview, somehow didn't know him well watching in the 1980s, but he seems like a super great guy. Can tell he is the minority of wrestlers who didn't abuse steroids and drugs. My opinion of the British Bulldogs as gone completely south after hearing everyone shoot on them.
Originally only came to watch the other video that only had the clip where he talks about the British Bulldog incident. In spite of never remembering him or watching him wrestle, I'm coming back to watch this whole interview. Love this guy. Will be interesting to hear his brother since he says they are a bit different. Ty for this upload.

agreed 100 percent
garrett spillane his bro is a good lad too

They performed well but were largely like 1 step above jobbers in WWE. They might not see them as hof worthy.
Class act.
I was never a fan of Raymond Rougeau while I was growing up and watching the WWF, so I was hesitant to even invest my time in this interview. Same here man
Everett H-Top I loved their heel theme. it was awesome
lol, fabulous interview is right!
same. spot on
I am exactly the same. Had no time for the Rougeau's as wrestlers, but Raymond is fantastic to listen to
It is a rare thing to see a guy from his era in seemingly good health, in good spirits, not destitute and not so bitter about the business that he has to hate one everything and everyone. Absolutely deserves a Hall of Fame Induction. Wonderful interview!
It's a shame that WWE hasn't seen fit to put the rougeau brothers/family into the Hall Of Fame, they certainly deserve it.
Oh the WWE has got to start having balloting. That way you would have The Rougeau Brothers, Demolition, Rick Martel and other talent overlooked in.
Fanik10 macho man only going in after he died was horriblr
After watching the interview, this man has easily become my most respected person in the business by a long shot.
raymond rougeau is all class, the Jean Beliveau of pro wrestling . Excellent interview.
Well said.
Absolutely love the Fabulous Rougeaue Brothers, and Raymond is just radiating with niceness.
What a nice guy!
or he could be like his wrestling character. Full of crap :)
Met him at Summerslam 2019 he was all class
Have huge respect for Raymond. With his class as a person I like to rewatch this interview to feel good and remind myself how good people can be in life and business. Thank Hannibal and Raymond for this interview.
One of my favorite shoot interviews ever. Such a humble man. I have a world of respect for Ray Rougeau
Merci to Raymond for his time shared in this interview. He and his family are legendary for their achievements in professional wrestling. I've always had respect for them and after watching this I could listen to Raymond talk for hours. He is a true class act. Merci encore une fois!
This man is a class act and a credit to the wrestling industry.
A true gent. Look at his eyes - there is no lying there regarding the Dynamite Kid Story - same with his brother. I could listen to him and his brother relate the story again and again and not get bored.
They told the exact story
And it would be the same every time, a sign of the truth being told
One of the best shoot interviews ever, props to Raymond and the interviewer for asking different questions than the usual run of the mill ones
+Lee Hallewell Hannibal of GNW is asking the questions.
Great interview. Humble, with no ego. Loved every word. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
A retired 80s wrestler who can afford to have a plane built...kudos
Quelle Classe... MERCI Monsieur Rougeau... This was Pure Gold!
In such an awful cut-throat and sleazy business, this guy is truly a touch of class. Another great shoot, Hannibal!
Raymond is really enjoying life
I absolutely hated him and his brother when they were in the WWF because of how well they pulled off the heel role. But the shoots Ive watched with Raymond show him to be a easy going, classy guy. It's hard not to like him after this interview.
He should go into the Hall of Fame, seriously.
Raymond is so cool. He smiled the whole interview. You can't fake that.
I love Raymond Rougeau. I could listen to his interviews all day ☺
This was awesome it went by so fast. Mad respect for Mr. Rougeau.
Interviews like this makes wrestling awesome again, so good. Thank you!
Hannibal's shoot interviews are always well worth a watch.
I watched that shoot 8 times. Its really my favorite of the channel. Ray should do a podcast or something like that. I really think he would be perfect for that
These guys have the best father. Instead of telling them to walk away from a fight at work “use a roll of quarters”.
Best shoot interview ever. I’m back for a second listen.
My favourite tag team of them all, made me laugh so much, we used to do all their moves at school, wasted childhood but fun. Great interview.
Thanks for uploading!
Glad Raymond is looking so good, gives a great interview with great stories.
the way he looks just proves to you that he really was clean during his career.
This is AWSOME. Please do more vids with old schoolers like this.
Wish i can like this video 1000x's
I could listen to Raymond talk all day. Great interview, and he seems like a great guy.
Thank you Mr. Rougeau! Also, thank you Hannibal for all the great shoots!!!
Raymond just brought a touch of class to my life. One of the best the WWf(e) ever had. Really enjoyed this interview. Thanks.
I'm going to watch his brother interview now lol
Thx Hannibal.. Awesome work! 💪🏻

Guys done really well for himself. Made his money and banked it well. Fantastic shoot interview 👍🏼🇬🇧
A class act all the way! I still have the Raw Magazine with pics of his boxing match with Owen Hart. With a pic of Ray and his son after his triumphant bout.
Whats not to like about the Rougeaus ? As a cajun fan I loved hearing french accents from national stars . Their work was super solid .
Sounds like a super fun live event to attend.
@@abrothernamedgeorge Yeah, the atmosphere was incredible. And of course, it was full kayfabe at the time.
We can't forget Edwuard Carpentier, one of the all-time greats!!
What a lovely guy. This is a great interview. Well worth the time if you’re a longtime WWF fan who remembers the matches, angles and that song.
i have so much respect for Ray, such a nice guy :)
This man is just awesome very chill and very insightful and not one to mess with...love the rougeaus
Raymond Rougeau = a class act!
Awesome guy.
GOD BLESS y'all!!!!!!!
The Rougeau Bros.
WWE Hall Of Fame
What a classy guy! Great interview
Ray rougeau is an honest guy who worked to live not lived to work. That can be done even in the wrestling business despite what they say.
HANNIBAL thankyou for these interviews
I remember seeing him in 71 in hull was just amazing
The good old days of wrestling in this area
Thank you for having the good sense to put some effort into lighting your subject well. It makes a world of difference.
This is brilliant, one of the best shoot interviews ever. Credit to you Hannibal young man.
I've watched this probably 10 times.
Thank You. The Rougeaus were big in Sudbury ON(which was part of Montreal Territory). I've seen them wrestle the Garvin's in a cage match at the Sudbury Arena in 1985 when I was 11. +Fanik10 From 1980-87 it was known as Lutte Internationale(french) International wrestling (English). Between 80-84 Andre the Giant was an owner. Their territory was Province of Quebec and Northern and Eastern Ontario.
Big Bisk
excellent, thank you!
I keep hearing that Bobby Eaton is the most universally likeable person in wrestling, but... Ray Rougeau might give him some competition!
By far one of the greatest stories on this channel, great interview by both Hannibal and Raymond, enjoy hearing these stories, especially growing up watching these guys back in the day, thank you keep them coming 👍

Ray is back working for WWE now doing French commentary. Jacques is still not on the best terms which is probably why the HOF has not happened yet.
Saw a lot of matches with the Garvins and they were the best......also saw the Rougeaus pile drive Eddy Creatchman's head into the mat....wild.......March 1,2016.
Alfred Kloos i saw that on tv... international wrestling was awesome
This is what retired wrestler sounds like that didn't use drugs or alcohol and didn't abuse their body.
thx , another great shoot hannibal ,
Congratulations Mr Mayor😊😊
What a great guy! Awesome interview
@ THE HANNIBAL TV - Excellent interview!! Any chance you can find Z-Man Tom Zenk and get an interview w/him?? thx!~
Great job Hannibal
needs to be in the hall fame
He's back working on the WWE's French commentary team now so it's probably just a matter of time.

Love this Interview! Great to hear about 1 of my Favs, Dino Bravo!! RIP Dino Bravo..THE STRONGEST Wrestler to step into WWF(Along with Kerry)
Ray might be the classiest pro wrestler I've ever heard. Smart and tough with a great attitude.
Fantastic interviewWould have loved to hear Raymond's recollection of the July 1972 card at Jarry Park
best interview i have ever seen. top bloke

Excellent
of course he still listens to Barry Manilow!!
Very good interview.

Raymond Rougeau for Prime Minister!
At the moment he's actually the mayor of his small town or Rawdon. Gotta start somewhere!
@@sportsjefe He's on his way up!
Shit, how many wrestlers blew their money? Seems like he's the only one with his head on straight.

Great interview
