Love Superstar Billy Graham. He's my first memory of ever seeing a wrestling show on TV in the mid-70s was The Superstar. My goofy family made me root for the baby faces of course but it was the crazy evil guys that made it all exciting. Captain Lou Albano, George The Animal Steele, Stan The Man Stasiak, The Valiant Brothers, Wild Samoans. I did like Ivan Putski. My grandmother was hardcore Polish. Bob Backlund drove me nuts because he was sooooo boring. Loved his reset as a lunatic a few years back. This is a great interview.
I have some of the same memories. Superstar was so over he was a heel half the fans rooted for. If he would of went baby face with the title it would of been huge.
Exactly! Unlike RF videos... holy shit that guy doesn't shut up and Mark's out too much and over talks everyone he interviews and you can see most of the stars get visibly frustrated when he keeps cutting them off.
Love, love, LOVED watching this! I started watching SBG in the tail end of his wrestling career (early 1980s/my early, EARLY childhood) and I am so thankful that I can say that I grew up watching him. He’s quite the storyteller. If he ever writes a memoir, I’d definitely buy it!
I still remember the day I first saw Super Star tag-teaming with Pat Patterson on a local TV station in San Francisco Channel 44. It was his first match tag team match on TV he picked up Ray Stevens and dropped his neck over the top of the rope, boom 1,2,3. I had never seen anyone ever pick up any wrestler with such ease. He was also one of the biggest wrestlers (muscles) I had ever seen. He wrestled at the Cow Place, what a Star. Thanks to Super Star for talking about one of the best ever, Ray Stevens. In San Francisco, we had some of the best wrestlers at the Cow Place matches. Pat Patterson was also in the top 3. Both he and Ray could work the shoot better than anyone. Super Star had learned from two of the best back in the old days. When we lost Ray Stevens to a massive heart attack if felt like losing a family member. SuperStar should have been the Hulk Hogan of his day. He actually knew how to wrestle for a big man. He did not run around the outside of the ring-like Jessie the Boday Ventura.
This may be in the top 3 greatest shoots ever on RUclips.. SSBG is an absolute legend.. a legend amongst the legends.. this dude legitimately set the standard of what a pro wrestler is. 😎🤟💯
The Hannibal TV, thanks for posting this great interview with the "man of the hour, the man with power, too sweet to be sour". The one, the only Superstar Billy Graham!
Without a doubt, he was the architect of what the business became in the 80’s and 90’s. He was a decade before his time, and what he contributed to the business is immeasurable. Some may argue, but he is one of the top 5 heels ever to don the tights. Praying that you will be pain free and with God.
Me and my friends use to take the train to the garden to watch your matches with Bruno. Thay were great. I still remember all the matches you did. All of them were great. You are also was a great talker. So happy to hear from you. God bless.
Hannibal, thank you for preserving these precious memories. I had the privilege of watching SBG wrestle at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles during the 70s.
Incredible legend.he may be a grandfather now but so will the rest of us one day and unlike us in his prime this man was a,charasnatic pioneer the origional superstar.charasmatic to the end.great privalege to hear this 4 hours of him talking
This is an epic interview! So good his memory and truthfulness remained the same. The more time it passes, the more he deserves a very special place in wrestling history. Cheers
I be inly ever heard of The Superstar in short quotes talking negatively. Mostly about the HOF, but he comes across much better when listening to him in full interviews. Very entertaining , came across very likeable .
Thank You Hannibal!!! I Appreciate this! Superstar is so Awesome! So are you man I hope you get on Tough Enough! You are a WWE Superstar and you are what the WWE needs right now! I think they will see that soon!
Me too. I saw him on Wrestlemania IV, managing Don Muraco, and I'm like, who is this guy- he looks cool! I would find out he was a former WWF champ and so I'd collect as much videos and magazines of the guy that I could.
One of the greatest ever. Look who came out of his persona. Hogan, Ventura, Dusty, Flair, they all used the "Brother" and the "Daddy", when they would cut a promo.
There was a similar situation with Dusty in Florida in 73 and 74. Eddie Graham was smart enough to turn Dusty face, Vince Sr wasn't smart enough to turn Superstar face.
As a diehard wrestling fan, thanks so much for this. This is magic. Like an oral history of all the major and outlying wrestling territories. All the stories of the crazy characters. And to hear him echo my sentiments about Bob Backlund. Long Live Superstar Billy Graham.
I remember seeing Billy in Florida in the early mid 70s he was fueding with Dusty Rhodes wow those two guys were awesome I liked both them and I also remember them teaming up man what a tag team they were great times back then growing up in Florida with some of the best wrestling there was to see great memories 😊❤️
What a fantastic interview. We've been needing this for a awhile! A pure legend of the business. It's a blessing just listening to him let alone being graced with his presence in the ring or a room. Wow Hannibal, Good look man! 🤘🏻💯
Awesome interview. PLEASE, shoot interviewers, do more interviews with 1960s to mid-70s WWWF wrestlers and/or people who wee there in that era or at least are very familiar with that era of the WWWF!
Superstar was the first wrestler I looked at in awe . I needed to know who this guy was that looked like Superman .This was about 1977 . Before him , as a kid , I was only interested in masked heels basicalky to see them getting unmasked .
Just like Billy was in awe of bodybuilder as a kid I had the same experience watching Billy on WWWF In The 70s! He blew my mind with his larger than life look!
In the early 1970s my Dad was a truck driver and met Billy Graham in a truck stop when my dad had to refuel. They talked for a few minutes over coffee and my dad told me later that Superstar was a legitimate gentleman. Quiet shy and reserved. The exact opposite of his onscreen persona
superstar was so ahead of his time and should have got longer as wwwf champ,he had great charisma, could work well in the ring, had a great look and one of the greatest talkers in the history of the business was much much better than howdie doodie bob backlund.Plus the small fact that the biggest name in wrestling history modeled himself on the superstar
What a series of matches Billy Graham had against Bruno Sammartino after the Baltimore title change. They wrestled in all the major cities, Boston, Madison Square Garden, Pittsburgh, Hartford, Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia for a couple months in return match after return match. They used lumberjack, Texas death, steel cage matches where all of the fans saw Billy escape in each match by the skin of his teeth. Disqualification, count outs, stoppage because of blood. After a couple months of this we realized Bruno was really retiring and wasn’t coming back. I got to see one of the last of these matches in the 17,000 seat Philadelphia Spectrum that is in the record books as the largest event ever held in the Spectrum. On February 17th. 1978 they recorded 20,000 fans paying at the box office. They left 5-10 thousand waiting outside of this sellout. Bruno kicked Graham through the cage door to the floor and Graham was declared the winner.
One Saturday in 1978 while waiting for Championship Wrestling (Tri State) to come on, there was a commercial for the upcoming New Orleans "Super-Dome Extravaganza", and on the screen come Superstar talking about what he is going to do to Dusty Rhodes. I was immediately hooked, and I was only 10 years old, maybe.. Thanks for the really good shoot! Best I've seen with Superstar. You can tell that you are really a big fan, or so it seems. Keep up the good work man! PS: I did get to see that Superdome show, and they're match wasn't so great iirc, but had one of the largest responses of the night.
Cause usually people don't want the interviewer over talking the star unlike RF videos where that lame ass fuck over talks, cuts off, and shouts at his interviewees. God that guy from RF video is annoying as hell, this guy with hannibal is a breathe of fresh air and just let's the star talk because that's who we are all here to listen too and see anyway.
Muhammad Ali invented that style ...superstar wasthe only one smart enough to emulate him. The funny thing is that Ali was convinced to develop his heel personna by talking to Gorgeous George
I remember seeing this guy in wrestling in the 70s. I was very young but as soon as I saw him he was THE guy. I couldn't understand where he went? Was too young to know about the politics of wrestling and did not even recognize him when he came back as the karate master. Imagine the run this guy could of had at that time if they wouldn't of went with boring Backlund.?
THIS MAN WAS BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN HULKSTER, THE BLOND HAIR AND MASSIVE PHYSIQUE, I THINK SUPERTAR BILLY GRAHAM WAS THE ORIGINAL REAL AMERICAN// LONG BEFORE HOGAN/ AND MANY OTHERS.
Dr Jerry ? Yeah , he was an absolute nutcase . Most old timers still talk about that . I learned it from Jody Hamilton aka The Masked Assassin in his book " Assassin - The Man Behind the Mask " . - Scott Teal @ Crowbar Press
Loved the Superstar. As a young child in the 70’s always liked the babyfaces until the Superstar won the belt..Sr made a huge mistake taking the belt off Graham and putting it on Backlund..
Hell ya I've been waiting for this, your channel rocks and these shoots are epic
Klutz FBI V. Cciddettw V
Billy could come out now and be a main eventer. He's got the most charisma I ever seen
Love Superstar Billy Graham. He's my first memory of ever seeing a wrestling show on TV in the mid-70s was The Superstar. My goofy family made me root for the baby faces of course but it was the crazy evil guys that made it all exciting. I have some of the same memories. Superstar was so over he was a heel half the fans rooted for. If he would of went baby face with the title it would of been huge.
This is about the third time I have watched this. Fantastic interview and great historical documentation.
Great job by the interviewer. You asked questions and didn't talk over Billy. Well done!
Only if he did his own reading on the audio book. He's hilarious.
This is pure gold.
Love to hear his reverence for Bruno Sammartino. The friendship and respect really is nice.
“He was Bruno Sammartino , the WWWF World Champion, he was dropping the strap to me, the least I could do is bleed for the man.”
Great interview; Billy's a guy that's fascinating to learn about. He inspired so many future wrestlers!
This may be in the top 3 greatest shoots ever on RUclips.. SSBG is an absolute legend.. a legend amongst the legends.. this dude legitimately set the standard of what a pro wrestler is. 😎🤟💯
Pure Heat .....and the Grand Wizard of Wrestling ......
The Hannibal TV, thanks for posting this great interview with the "man of the hour, the man with power, too sweet to be sour". The one, the only Superstar Billy Graham!
He was my first favorite Wrestler as a kid in the AWA days, which made me become a Wrestler years later 😊
Awesome interview! Glad to hear Billy and Ray Stevens had a dislike for Dick Murdoch’s racism. Next good story I hear about Murdoch will be the first.
Without a doubt, he was the architect of what the business became in the 80’s and 90’s. He was a decade before his time, and what he contributed to the business is immeasurable. Some may argue, but he is one of the top 5 heels ever to don the tights. Praying that you will be pain free and with God.
Probably one of the best if not best interviews ever conducted with a former wrestler on RUclips
I like listening to Superstar tell stories he's very good at it this is the best interview out there
Grand Poppa Pump
That's a good one!😂
Lol. Huh basically

I could listen to Billy Graham and alot of the old timers talk all day
+Kent Freeman If you listen to Billy Graham, you'll hear him flip/flop and cry all day!!
Absolutely!!!! There are a lot of them who give extended testimonies, too.
Incredible legend.he may be a grandfather now but so will the rest of us one day and unlike us in his prime this man was a,charasnatic pioneer the origional superstar.charasmatic to the end.great privalege to hear this 4 hours of him talking
A legend plain and simple
Love superstar, this guy was my hero when I was a child. I wanted to be just like him.
Amazing man, Amazing Interview! This guy is underappreciated, and the first W WE Star from Arizona.
Absolute royalty in the business. Tons of respect!
Man, he's like a grandfather telling tales. You can tell he enjoys it.
Great interview
This is an epic interview!
So good his memory and truthfulness remained the same.
The more time it passes, the more he deserves a very special place in wrestling history.
Cheers
great shoot thanks hannibal these are awesome!!!!
Saw Superstar Billy Graham vs. Bob Backlund at The Boston Garden-1982... Loved it!!! Ivan Putski, special referee...
This guy is my favorite of the before my timers.
Me too. I saw him on Wrestlemania IV, managing Don Muraco, and I'm like, who is this guy- he looks cool! I would find out he was a former WWF champ and so I'd collect as much videos and magazines of the guy that I could.
My 5 favorite Superstar Billy Graham opponents
5. Da Crusher
4. Dusty Rhodes
3. Harley Race
2. Ivan Putski
1. Bruno Sammartino
The Greatest champion ever !
One of the greatest ever. Look who came out of his persona. Hogan, Ventura, Dusty, Flair, they all used the "Brother" and the "Daddy", when they would cut a promo.
and you gotta love the grand wizard of wrestling.
This guy is a true original. No one did it like him until he did it.
There was a similar situation with Dusty in Florida in 73 and 74. Eddie Graham was smart enough to turn Dusty face, Vince Sr wasn't smart enough to turn Superstar face.
I have always wondered about that myself. Great point Diane!
True , Sr wanted hos own Jack Brisco after Brisco's popularity had droed up
Very enjoyable interview. Thanks Hannibal!!
Hanibal, you're a Hell of an athlete brother and a True Wrestling aficionado, bless you man.
As a diehard wrestling fan, thanks so much for this. This is magic. Like an oral history of all the major and outlying wrestling territories. All the stories of the crazy characters. And to hear him echo my sentiments about Bob Backlund. Long Live Superstar Billy Graham.

Awesome interview
Thanks Hannibal
My hero! Thank you for helping him Hannibal, please keep us updated on how he's doing.
thanks Hannibal
I can listen to billy graham talk wrestling all day
Very articulate and entertaining. Obviously a very bright guy.
3.5 hours, with the Man with the Power!
Half way through this and not bored at all and Superstar was a little before my time!
superstar was so ahead of his time and should have got longer as wwwf champ,he had great charisma, could work well in the ring, had a great look and one of the greatest talkers in the history of the business was much much better than howdie doodie bob backlund.Plus the small fact that the biggest name in wrestling history modeled himself on the superstar
Amazing shoot, I love it !
Thank u so much bro for the full shoot interviews and all other badass vids.
Superstar was one of a kind

Remember when Philly was fun and never thought of getting shot.😅
A living legend.

Great interview!!! Thank you.
AN AWESOME Person!!!!!!!
GOD Bless
RIP Billy Graham. 💪
Awesome interview. I am so glad I am getting to hear a full length shoot with superstar graham. It's kinda hard to hear you hannibal
What a cool guy! I loved listening to all of this. Very intelligent and really engaging.
This guy could come out right now and would be the top guy.
one of a kind...a real gentleman.
finally a long comprehensive interview with SBG! would have been better if we could hear the questions though.
+Guy C. read my mind... was thinking could they not afford 2 microphones or what. Interviewer was great from what I could hear.
A lot of big names in the business borrowed their look and promo skills from SBG. His importance can’t be overstated.
THE SUPERSTAH - THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME AND THE TRUE ORIGINAL!
If you can call anyone a trailblazer The superstar Billy Graham is the greatest look how many people imitated him
I'm the man of the hour, the man of power, I'm too sweet to be sour! Superstar invented the trash talking promo hahaha
Muhammad Ali invented that style ...superstar wasthe only one smart enough to emulate him. The funny thing is that Ali was convinced to develop his heel personna by talking to Gorgeous George
Great Interview
Actually reading your book now and you touch on and go really in depth fantastic read!!
I lift barbell plates, I eat T-bone steaks , I 'm sweater than chocolate cake, How much of me can you take!
He is the man of the hour, too sweet to be sour!!!
Loved his mic skills also!!!
I remember seeing this guy in wrestling in the 70s. I was very young but as soon as I saw him he was THE guy. I couldn't understand where he went? He was the one who set the standard and made the bad guy cool
Cap lock key stuck, Junior?
He was so good on the mic, and so entertaining.Stu Hart really stretched this man, and broke him into the business Dungeon style.
These dirty breaking my hats oh my God so funny he put me in a front face lock
The greatest of all time there will never be another
two wrestlers were inspired by "Superstar" Billy Graham.
Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan. they owe their success to him. He was their mentor.
THAT DEAD MOTHER in the front seat is one of the craziest stories I ever heard...
Dr Jerry ? Yeah , he was an absolute nutcase . Most old timers still talk about that . I learned it from Jody Hamilton aka The Masked Assassin in his book " Assassin - The Man Behind the Mask " . - Scott Teal @ Crowbar Press
Nice interview
