The problem was, they had no pedigree - no success before that time, so teams didn't fear playing them. Unlike if you're playing a not very good Italy, Germany or Argentina etc, you still fear them.

Now, if Peter Schmeichel had just been a couple of years older and/or Sepp Piontek have had the bravery to give him a chance back then, it would have been perfect...

That's right. But they lost with Spain in the euro of 1984 and the world cup of 1986, in two greats matches. But Simonssen, Arnessen, Lerby, Elkjaer, Lauridsen, Laudrup, Morten Olsen, Jesper Olsen... was incredible players. The match against France in euro'84 was incredible.

The Danish Team that won the Euro was not very good, but the danish team, who a few years later, won the king fadgh cup in 1995, was actually almost as good as the dynamite 80's team, in my opinion. The most attractive football by a danish team in the 90's.

Actually, you are right.
At the 1986 team, the weaknesses at the goalkeeper position became appearent (oh, why did Piontek, the coach, didn't take a chance with a very young Schmeichel?) when we went through 2-3 keepers in just four matches.
