He was an amazing player but what is most memorable about this GK was that he conceeded some of the prettiest & most wonderful goals in Football history! In those times European cup tournaments were so big, so massive and impressive that after seeing it once, you keep remembering them for the rest of your life, for decades, almost every game of those. Just like myself. Nowadays, something went totally different. Try to remember anything truly valuable about e.g. Euro-2012. Not that easy, right? I might be wrong though...
For me nothing has changed i still enjoy the Euro and World Cup way more then regular competition. There is a different feel to it + it only happening every 4 years makes it a rarity and winning the tournament will cement your name in history with makes it intense especially in the knockout games. Winning it is a way bigger achievement then any other football prize.
