The Brazil of Tele Santana, Maradona's Argentina, West Germany, Enzo Bearzot's Italy were monsters too. At Euro 1984 France had to overcome a number of tricky opponents like Spain, Portugal and Denmark, it was a perfect tournament for them.

It's interesting to see how great teams are mythologized. This France defence is (rightly) considered one of the greatest of all time but Thuram gave away a number of cheap penalties throughout the tournament and the entire defence, especially the great Desailly, were at 6s and 7s for Denmark's first chance in this game. Had Denmark converted that chance and gone on to eliminate France I wonder how differently this France team would be remembered
France would've still had good chance of going through even with a loss here as 3 teams would've finished on 3 points and that's if France didn't take last game as seriously like they didn't in the end because they were already through. And that's also irrelevant because not only did 🇫🇷 not lose this game they won it 3-0. So I think they were good enough for at least a draw here even if they had conceded that early chance. A draw wouldn't have been damaging for them at all. 🇩🇰 had an awful Euro2000. Who would've thought 2 years later roles would be reserved (apart from Denmark going on to win the tournament but I mean Frabce were awful in WC2002 and Denmark at least in group stage were the opposite and even Tommason scored against 🇫🇷 this time).

Undoubtedly French team was a beast back then but this particular game it was more a case of woeful Denmark than glorious France. I mean, look at their defending. Also, if only they scored two great chances at the opening, the game would have been so much different.
