PHAT HEAD RC You rock bro I am currently buying upgrades after upgrades the kit will be here in a few weeks time. Oh I can’t wait. Thanks bro for the reply back. 👍💪👊😀
PHAT HEAD RC Yes man huge help I take it like. I am very happy to get some responses back with help for the hobby. What more could I ask for. Have a great day own it you should you help others make their day. 🤘👊😀
As for tires i went with Proline TSL Super Swampers 2.2x 5.25 with Crawler Innovation 2 stage foam on some cheap Amazon 2.2 wheels. I will be getting the Bowhouse replacement skid and when I install that I will move the rear links to push axle back to center it better. There is very minimal rub, I lowered the shocks to lift it a bit. Will definitely be doing the Portal weights and Diff cover but I'm checking for grease in the morning. Thank you for the information, Have Fun
Great information, thank you. May I suggest a focus box on your work station to keep the parts in view. You earned a subscription and a like, thanks again
Oh ok yea I know what you mean now, I'm working on getting a new work bench area and so I'll have a bigger space to film I'm in a corner at the moment so not much room haha

Thank you for the input I appreciate, so the reason I dont have anymore videos of the gen 8 is because i was at my local hobby shop and a father and son were there and they were wanting a gen 8 because the sons birthday was in a couple of days. So they came in and was looking for one and the owner didnt have anymore in stock, I had mine with me and I wanted to help out so I sold the gen 8 to the father for the sons birthday party. If you have questions on your gen 8, I would be happy to help you out!
You should have Grease the portals before you even took it out for a run. If you did the WD-40 treatment after every run you wouldn't have any rust. Thank you for the info on the portal weights. You do make very good videos thank you for that. I will subscribe.
I dont know anything about the wd40 and there were barely and grease on the portals I just put some more in there, I'll give the wd40 thing a try I've seen more people doing that lately, and thanks for the info and the sub, I appreciate that!!
@@phatheadrc all the WD-40 treatment is if you know you're going to be in water you spray all your moving parts and the outside of your bearings. And then after your run use an air compressor to blow off on any excess water. then spray every joint and bearing again. is good to go till next time.
@@phatheadrc Yea I looked on eBay and could not find portal weights. I found the diff. covers. I found them on a different site but they were sold out.
Instead of over torquing that set screw, use a little loctite and you wont have that problem of bent retaining pins. You can also lightly coat that pin and the driveshaft with grease and that will help disperse the water and slow the rusting, but you need to clean that rust off and stop it from getting worse 1st. The best way to stop rust is anytime you get your RC wet, take the wheels off and anything that comes off easily, and blow it off with compressed air
My trx4 all the bolts rusted and my losi tenacity and my scx10ii it doesn't matter what brand you use if there not stainless steel they rust lmao. Once you stick an Allen key in the bolt it scratches the black coating off and it will rust no matter what brand RC.
@@phatheadrcYup they all rust eventually if your driving through water and rusted bolts doesn't make an RC bad lol. The guy who made the original comment is tripping to think it makes an RC good or bad when rust is all on the owner, 99.9% of all hardware used on every RC brand is the exact same shit.
Thanks for all your help in writing back to guys to help them & links 👍

I am learning pressure tolerance for screws to ensure parts stay on properly and do not need to be sinched up rock tight
I bent a few pins to
Yea its definitely a learning curve, i still end up over tightening some anyways

That makes sense good to know
@@phatheadrc just made a short vid of it.
Great video!!!
What bent the pins? Over tightening the wheel nut?
That's kinda what I'm thinking
Wheel torque bends the pins
This video is very useful video~!!👍👍👍
What kind of grease are you using.Great videos.
Vanquish grease
PHAT HEAD RC
Red and tacky works great for everything RC.
Try it it’s great grease.
I definitely will, thanks for the recommendation, I'm getting low on my grease anyways!!
Nice video..I got to get me some...the ones I tried didn't fit well so I went with wheel weights.
Yea get the ones I have they fit perfectly

Portal covers and Diff plate, just for the front only ?

Why did those parts rust? Is traxxas the same way? Shit! That's not good
