New Long Residence Guidance

In this video I look at the updated Long Residence Guidance (Version 20.0; 11.4.24) which has been amended to reflect the introduction of the newly inserted Appendix Long Residence, which replaced the long residence rules in Part 7 of the Immigration Rules.

Hello, thanks so much for this update. Please can I clarify your understanding relating to continuous residence, especially relating to the 548 day rule. If a qualifying period was between 01 June 2014 to 01 June 2024, what rules apply? 1) 01/6/14-11/04/24 - no single absence >184 days; is the 548 day limit still applicable for this period? 2) 11/04/24-01/06/24 - no absence >180 day in 12 months period. Does 5 years on derivative residence (Zambrano) count towards the 10 year long residence route?

Hope so...cumulatively, if passed 5 yrs through zambrano,,,its absolute right to achieve,,or another way like if u previously did 7 yrs and 3yrs or so under zambrano, u can do total 10yrs and get ILR....
