the way RF works is that they create ISR drone suppression at night and send DRGs forward to scout for AFU positions. When they find a weakness, they press the strong points to fix troops there, then attack the weak points. This is why their advances seem to be chaotic and not part of a concerted maneuver. They flow kind of like molasses or oil. If they encounter too much resistance, they abandon that point and attempt to flow around it. The AFU's lines are leaky and these leaks create flooded areas. If the AFU can stop the flow, RF builds up pressure with artillery and glide bombs which is like an erosion. Eventually, the lines leak again and RF flows forward.

It's worth noting that this approach only works if you have greater firepower & manpower. Otherwise you would just 'flow' into encirclement traps.
AFU faces the unenviable proposition of stopping a flow with a concentration of forces, only to create a target-rich-environment for bombardment.
Everyone can see what everyone else is doing, all of the time. And that's making the conflict play out in a very unfamiliar way. It most resembles WWI, except with much less troop density, making the lines more porous.
The Russian lines in Niu-York and Toretsk are drawing closer together everyday.

it's really kind of like a flood. It's not a big wave like in the movies...it is a massive, inexorable flow of water which always finds its way around obstructions. The AFU is a leaky dam through which RF flows then floods what was behind the barrier

It really is getting brutal for Ukraine. This is quite similar to ww2. Russia is like a freight train that takes awhile to get up to speed but becomes unstoppable once it gains momentum.
It's usually compared to WW1 when defence was meta and progress over trenches was slow or back and forth.
WW2 was more about mobile warfare.

@@abrvalg321 This war is slowly turning into mobile warfare as well. Using motorcycles has become a tactic to avoid drone warfare. Drones are one of the main reasons that his war has resembled WW1 more than WW2.
It's a demographic war actually. Even the Russians pulled back to the 2014 borders. The Ukraine would still have far more deaths than births and a population of under 10 million by 2035 and it will be in a terminal decline as the population shrinks every year.

The video titles are clickbaity anyway and the content is Russia captured 2 fields and are noe advancing further. This village has two names - ukrainian and russian (like many in eastern part of the country)
In ukrainian names there is basically no letter G - in its place there is an H. And in russian names the H is replaced by a G.........;)
How can there be a"H" in ukrainian, when the cyrillic alphabet (as far as I know it) has no "H". The cyrillic lettering on his map has it right.

Regarding the two options Russia will have after securing the southern half of New York, I suspect they 'll go west first. Given they 've been consistently using attrition tactics, at least to me it makes more sense for them to cut all supplies and reinforcements off first and take then their time to finish the job without changing their tactics. The only case of them going east first is if they see they 'll have stronger positions and flanks that way. Because for Russia's advances we almost constantly hear about improved positions and stronger flanks, which is not the case for NATO's Krinkies.

Honestly this is a very cheap war for the west and in comparison Russia has nearly exhausted its soviet stockpiles just look at the satalite images of before and after storage facilities for tanks ect and they are nearly depleted.
I am confident Putin had no idea that his army would be dependent on golf carts and motorcycles and pulling out tanks from storage that were built under Stalin. Safe to say this war is a disaster for Putin who thought it would be over in days.
