  • Peace Lily, aka Spathiphyllum is one of the easiest houseplants to take care, especially for beginners. With some indirect sunlight, regular watering and misting one should have a very healthy Peace Lily. This plant is a forest floor plant wanting low, dappled light and high humidity.
To rejuvenate a neglected pease lily:
    1. Remove all brown and dead leaves
    2. Replace some of the top layer compost or repot a root bound one
    3. Wipe the leaves for dust or give the plant a shower
    Tips for care
    1. Mist the leaves daily
    2. Remove any damaged leaves immediately
    3. Feed the lily at the beginning of the growing season
    4. Water the plant when the leaves start to show signs of droop or the top layer is dry to touch
    5. Place the lily away from direct light

Love Peace Lily's♡ I left out of town for 2 weeks so for 2 weeks it did not get any water (mind you, it needed to be watered when I left😬). It was flat like a pancake when I came back🥺😂. I gave it a nice good soak & she was back to normal!😁👌🏻.

You did a nice job of cleaning up that neglected peace lily. It looks much happier than at the start. Well done. I'd love to see how it looks in a couple of months. I recently over watered mine and she looks so very sad. I never know where to put it as every room has a heater at the window.

Thank you. I’m a newly hopeful house plant carer. Black thumb doesn’t begin to describe it, I’ve recently killed a mother-in-law’s tongue. And been given a peace lily. I think my family are placing bets on how long it will take me to kill it! But your advice is clear and simple, so now I just ask for thoughts and prayers for Phil the Peace Lily as he’s separated and repotted.

Green flowers are part of normal cycle of flowering...starts green, turns white then might go green again. But if it comes out green and STAYS green, it is a sign that it is getting TOO much light - move it to a place with slightly less light (but then the leaves will be less abundant). It could also be a sign of too much fertilizing...chexk the tips of gour leaves (if brown tips, it is definately too much fertilizer). You can cut off just the brown tips of the leaves.

It wadnt even secure in the pot when i got it so i put it in a smaller pot because its small and watered it and it is still sad 3 4 days later. Should i cut all leves off or put into water? Watering it didnt help. Maybe give it a full week first and if no different should i putits roots in water?

Hai Haley, please give more time for the plant to come out of the stress of negligence and reporting. There are many reasons for ur troubles on peace Lilly. One reason for dropping leaves is also of water, which u have rectified. Another one is over crowded roots and no nutrients in the potting soil left. I think u have also managed this! One more reason is over fertilising the plant, please check this one. For now pay particular attention to the plant and give it tlc. Wait and see what happens.

    • @NoumiNooruddeen
      @NoumiNooruddeen  3 года назад +3

Give it some time to recover from the root trimming, plants are very resilient. Division of peace Lilly is not an issue, you can always divide it as long as the rhizomes are intact. Don’t water for a while. I hope it helps.

Don't trim the roots. I get markdowns from Lowes. The one I got was rootbound and I just repotted it without disturbing the roots. It's been a week and it has two blooms starting. I have it under grow lights. I always buy plants from the clearance rack.

If the roots are not damaged or rotten, you still get leaves on it. What you need to do is to find out why all the leaves feel off, if it was overwatering then let the soil dry and the roots recover from the wetness, if it was under watering then just watering it will help the leaves come back
