I need to add one last touch to the blanket and that was the flower. I wish I could post a photo, it turned out perfect! Thank you once again for taking the time to help others learn!!! Renee

You're pacing with the teaching of names I feel will help me with patterns later, too.

    Update Jan 2021... I have made a blanket and scarfs and I’m working on a sweater
    July 2021: can make shirts and cardigans and have become obsessed with buying yarn 🤣
    December 2021: addicted to crocheting hats!
    March 2022: I’ve accumulated so much yarn! I have myself a yarn buying ban. It literally took over my craft room.
    Feb 2023: crochets so many sweaters I literally have no room to put them. Falls in love with chunky yarn. Is now a pattern tester! 🎉

    • @paige4201
      @paige4201 4 года назад +3

      @@fortunatelyno yeah! if you put the stitch marker through two of the starting chains (right across from each other), that would definitely work! just make sure you don't put it the entire chain, just through one part of the v (if that makes sense). if the chain marker is too short (as in it warps the circle), then a different colored piece of yarn would work just as well!

  • @haileymaurer122
    @haileymaurer122 2 года назад +16

    EDIT: Okay I'm back and I realized one tip for beginners struggling with their project becoming a "ball" is that you need to move the center looped stitches over so there are no gaps to form the petals. It worked! You do mention it at the end of the video to do this at 18min, but this was why my flower wasn't taking proper shape :). Thank you for your wonderful video!
    My first time and it became kind of like a ball. I think I didn't use the proper tension so the different sized stiches lost the petal's shape. But your tutorial is very clear and helpful. I'm going to keep practicing and watching your videos until I get the proper feel for it because I feel like it will click after several tries. Definitely the most helpful video I have come across.

    I have had the most difficult time being able to crochet anything! Even granny squares keep going awry and for months and months it’s been such an uphill battle. I finally was able to actually make something-this flower!!! Absolutely wonderful tutorial; as someone with a learning disability, even the “super easy” tutorials have ended with tangled and sobbing, but I successfully made your flower!!!! I am excited to try more of your videos, thank you❤

    If anyone else struggled like me, ill give you a tip! Pull your stitches of each petal together! Stopped it from being s big tangled ball and made a very cute flower!

    I think my yarn was thicker so I was only able to fit three petals, but I added a stem with some chains and made a cute clover!🍀I think to make a flower with thicker yarn, you can add more chains in the beginning loop :)

    Thank you so much for your clear instructions - I haven’t crocheted in a while and have never done flowers. I used them for clouds on a rainbow I crocheted. 🌼😀

    I did it! But I think my yarn was fatter so I only had room for four petals. Still turned out pretty cool and I got the general idea of how to make them now! Thank you!
    PS: If anyone ends up with more of a butterfly shape, slide the stitches together in the center circle.
