    We are in the process of connecting the pipes that will carry the waste from our homes to our waste management system. where the grey and black water will be cleaned into potable water and the solid waste will be converted into fertilizer and usable gas will be created.

    Great work Eric, I hope you are documenting all of your journey, to create a blueprint for best practices and planning, as this will help others.

    Why did you decide to use a waste treatment instead of the original plan at the house?

    The Pipes look pretty close to the surface.
    Gotta be Mindful of what/where people plant around the house!

      I suggest you cover them with dirt exposing only the expectation points (chambers). Pipes get weaker when exposed to sun. Ask me how I know 😅

      @@aberba Yes, I'm aware as I've also experienced it. They will be covered.

    My questions may sound stupid, but I am thinking about the long term use. Approximately, how long will those pipes last before the need to repair or replace? And what happens if they get blocked up?

    • @EricIsFree
      @EricIsFree  3 месяца назад +1

      You can find yourself changing sections of the pipe every 5 years or so, especially if they're left exposed to the brutal Ghana sun. Also, I have occasionally had yard workers accidentally damage them with the weed eater. But they are quite simple to repair or change. They contain access point to flush with a hose in case the get clogged.

    Awesome idea Eric.
    Just have a little concern about the required gradient….
    From the cluster of homes to the waste treatment centre.
    Do you have enough slope ?
    Well done 👍

    • @EricIsFree
      @EricIsFree  3 месяца назад +7

      Thanks. The slope is fine. Too much slope is just as bad as too little slope because when the slope is to steep the water will flow away without carrying the solid waste.

      Eric, Do you plan on utilizing the waste treatment system in all of the pockets or will the Soak Aways still be used for some of the homes? Does the waste system need to be licensed or inspected by the local government? Will operators require training? How close will it be to the Homes?

    Hi Eric will the pipes be visible? It would be nice if they were under ground or hidden under a structure or something.

      Yes, a small portion will be. Usually people decorate around the area with some type of plants.
