Reincarnation isn't a separate game. It's sort of an official arrangement album for Persona 4. (Persona 3 also had a Reincarnation album.) The girl in the thumbnail is related to the song, and all the context from the game makes the original version my favorite. The Persona Dancing games are rhythm games as you guessed, and their soundtracks are primarily remixes from the associated Persona game, including from a bunch of guest artists. So the genres end up varying wildly.
So, this song is significant because not only is it the theme for the dungeon that occurs at a turning point in the story, it's also the only Persona 4 dungeon theme with leading vocals. The Norihiko Hibino remix is my personal favourite, I just love how varied it is and how it goes from super chill to very upbeat.

Spoiler: He's also a victim, as he was manipulated, and that's around the time when you can choose to close the case because you found the culprit, and end of the game, OR notice that there's something wrong, and reach the "true end", where you stop the actual culprit.

This was great! Yes, that is the singer for all the Persona 4 games/anime. Persona 3's singer is different, but 3 and 4 have had some crossover games (Persona Q and Arena games), so they have sung together for several tracks, and even did the 2nd intro for the Persona 4 anime.
Whenever I play P4 and about reach the rescue Nanako part I tend to start preparing like a crazy person and I always make sure Dojima's social link is at max rank so I can bring Kohryu along because of the wholesome symbolic nature of it.
While I adore this song in all its incarnations, due to the context in which it plays in the original Persona 4, I always feel vaguely stressed out. It plays during a pivotal point in the story, and depending on your perspective this song is either a good way to alleviate the anxiety of the story, or an ironic counterpoint against a story point that is otherwise fairly upsetting.
Also I'm sure folks have brought it up to you but I would LOOOOOVE to see you play Persona 4 Golden (the enhanced port) someday. Considering how you have handled Xenoblade in terms of avoiding spoilers and limiting viewer engagement, along side vocalizing your musings on the story and such, would make a very rewarding playthrough for fans of the series.
I can't choose a favorite from any of these either man. It's crazy how the dancing version still has those killer vocals yet STILL takes a backseat to everything surrounding them. I’d like to ask, what kind of genre would Persona 4 Dancing All Night’s version be? Also Heaven is super interesting and sad once you understand what the lyrics represent for Nanako!
There's actually one more official version of Heaven, which is my favorite version of the song. There's an album called Persona Music Live Band, where they rearranged songs from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona Trinity Soul (an anime that came out between 3 and 4), and recorded them using a real band. This is actually my favorite version of most of the songs featured on that album. The Live Band mix of Heaven sounds similar to the original, but bigger, with more instruments.
I really love this song though it's a pretty sad song about loneliness. It sounds hopeful but the lyrics seem to be about holding onto a moment in time when everything made sense and not being able to let go out of fear of forgetting. The little girl Nanako is a pretty dark character for Persona since her mother died and her father is an emotionally absent detective who can't communicate his grief with her so he neglects her.
that little girl is called Nanako and is the cousin of the game's MC, the lyrics are basically telling the story of past trauma and how she tries to deal with it
The reincarnation version of the song is an álbum that made rearrangements of the original songs from the game, while P4D has rearrangements of those songs but made By different artists
there is so much emotion to Heaven. (major spoilers ahead) this song plays during a dungeon late in the game. each dungeon is essentially a creation of the hearts and minds of the person held in it. In this case, the person being the main characters little cousin (little sister, depending on how you wanna qualify their relationship. she is his uncle's daughter, but she calls him "big brother" as their relationship deepens). the chapter starts with Nanako being kidnapped by the killer after Yu and his friends thwarted several attempts on other potential victims. Nanako being a sweet, innocent child, having not experienced life enough to have developed enough darkness to twist her heart with doubt, her dungeon is a very serene looking heaven. possibly resembling the longing for her mother, who had been killed years prior as a side note, Heaven is the first full dungeon in the game where you don't wind up having to fight the shadow of the victim being held, as unlike every other person you have rescued up to this point, Nanako doesn't have a shadow manifest. she doesn't end up facing herself and open up to a truth deep inside her, essentially
Those trumpets in the last version give me serious Ghost in the Shell SAC vibes, I swear. Edit: Actually kindof the entire remix started to, especially after the saxophone came in- well, moreso Yoko Kanno vibes than Ghost in the Shell, I guess.

i believe theres a couple of versions more, one with Hatsune Miku (yeah its an oficial track from P4 Dancing), and Heaven is a dungeon theme, for a very specific moment of the game, wich elevates this song even more for me
@@JessesAuditorium when you heard I'll face myself from Persona 4, it was the Reincarnation version not the OG, that version was added in Golden for a special battle, but it was released in the Reincarnation album

Given context of this BGM, it's ironic your first impression of the track versus the game player's first impression of this track is almost the complete opposite. I'm not sure you'll ever get around to playing any of the Persona games and the major reason the majority of the comments have been so dodgy is that this dungeon is pretty much the climax of the game. Put simply, the song sounds mellow, but the invested player has never felt GREATER URGENCY until this point in the game.

The context of this song makes the lyrics hurt when you play the actual game.
Persona 3 “Memories of the City” cover by ferdk on RUclips is what convinced me to try the game. Loved it. Played 4. Loved it more. Played 5. Loved it equally. Never played 1 and only about 10 minutes of half of the second game. The first-person exploration turned me off.
Persona 4 is objectively my favorite of 3-5. Though its hard to admit, since pwrsona 5 was my first/gateway into persona
Golden* ill clarify
it's peak
If you didn't finish Heaven on the first day, you played the game wrong.
Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden are the same game, Golden is a remastered version of Persona 4
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a remake of Persona 4 Arena
Persona 4 Reincarnation is just an album of unique version of tracks in the game
Persona 4 Dancing All Night is a rhythm game
You absolutely need to check the original PS1 Persona soundtrack.
Take care yourself man!
“Sexy” 😭 without the context
Given context of this BGM, it's ironic your first impression of the track versus the game player's first impression of this track is almost the complete opposite. I'm not sure you'll ever get around to playing any of the Persona games and the major reason the majority of the comments have been so dodgy is that this dungeon is pretty much the climax of the game. Put simply, the song sounds mellow, but the invested player has never felt GREATER URGENCY until this point in the game.
Nanako! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Benjamin Franklin is the best lyricist!
Ayo Heaven??
yknow, playing an 80hr Persona game (like Persona 3 or 4) would be a great excuse to take a break :)
Nanako! 😭
