She’s awesome. Three years ago I’d never heard any Persona music. Now Lyn is my favorite singer ever and she, Shihoko, and Yumi Kawamura from P3 are my three favorite female singers.

Heartbeat Heartbreak is subtly foreshadowing the ending too, since the Izanagi and Izanami mythos is that Izanagi betrayed her since he was terrified of her face (being The Goddess of Hell/Netherworld) and sealed her in Yomi (The Japanese Netherworld), so the "You look so different, Glaring street lights" can mean that when Izanagi (Yu) returns and accidentally encounters her avatar, she is no longer there (and becomes Marie) and what is left is just pure resentment
I highly recommend Snowflakes and Pursuing My True Self. Pursuing My True Self was the original opening song for the game, Shadow World is the P4 Golden opening song.
Also, there is a really nice fan remix of Backside of the TV by Sapphire called "Persona 4 ‖ "Backside of the TV" ‖ @sleepingforestmusic ft. Sapphire, Khrys Williams & Max Boiko" I highly recommend that one too, although since that is a fan thing, maybe it does not strictly fit into a P4 OST video, I don't know how that works.

Was very excited seeing this on my homepage, P4G has one of my favourite OSTs! I must have spent a total of five hours just vibing out to and singing along to the music when playing the game. And I bet 2 of those hours were Backside of the TV alone haha

Snowflakes is also super good. this game means the world to me, it's always nice seeing it being talked about. the music feels like a warm hug.

7:30 Part of the point of "Shadow World" is that the song is not what you'll expect from the title, which goes well with the "can't judge a book by its cover" theme of Persona 4.
Time to make History was such a slept on track when P4G first came out, and yeah, the in game version is kinda weak compared to Reach out to the Truth, but the full version of the track from Dancing All Night I think can stand toe to toe with it's predecessor. The way the vocalist goes off meter for parts of the verse and the power of the second chorus really do something to elevate the track in an amazing way. Also, there are like... 4 different versions of "I'll face myself" that play at various parts of the game. The version in this video is the remixed Battle version. There's also the base Battle which is I'll face myself Battle, the standard I'll face myself, and I'll face myself another ver which swaps the lead instruments around, so the trumpet leads instead of the piano. There's also the version that was added to Sma5h alongside Joka, which is honestly one of the best remixes the smash remix team has ever done.
"I've been waiting for this!" /wait, that's for Persona 3 But yeah, of the modern Persona titles, P4 definitely (at least in my opinion) has the "pop"-iest feel to its soundtrack. Certain battle themes I think you would like listening to (in a hypothetical part 2) are "The Fog" (also called "The Mist" on some videos), "A New World Fool", and..."The Almighty". Certain dungeon/overworld themes you would definitely like are "Heaven", "Sky Full of Stars", "Snowflakes", and "Signs of Love".
Persona 4 has the most "mixed" soundtracks among the "newsonas", I'd not say it's "poppy". There are many Rock soundtracks - Time to Make History, Reach out to the truth, Almighty (peak), A New World Fool, etc There are many Jazz(and its variations) Soundtracks - Deduction/Reasoning, Pursuing My True Self, Youthful Lunch, Specialist, Signs of Love, Like a Dream Come True, Midnight Crossing Miracle Quiz and Heartbeat Heartbreak (maybe?) There are "pop" soundtracks - Your Affection (I think it's actually some kind of funk), New Days, Alone and some other ones I don't remember There are some of them that I don't know how to classify, like Heaven (but it's still a banger)

Persona 4's more pop style of music is probably my least favorite out of the modern 3 games but it is still my favorite game and my anchor for the series. This game helped me get out of a depressive state right after finishing highschool and having no plan or idea what to do with my life from there. Will always hold a special place in my heart even if it 3 and 5 are both much better games now after P3Reload.
But P4 is a lot of people's favorite tbh like yeah it having modern models and updated looks would be cool but the story and characters are just strong already

I love this whole series, but Persona 4 Golden was the one that introduced me to the series so it has a very special place in my heart, just like this soundtrack and the cast of characters of this game. How I would like to erase my memory and arrive in Inaba for the first time. ❤
"Shadow World" is the intro theme made specially for the Golden remaster; the original version had a very different opening, called "Pursuing My True Self"
Since I was a kid, this OST has been living rent free in my head. I was 9 when it released, and was how I met the whole Shin Megami franchise, but P4 will always be one of the best games I've ever played, I love its music, its story, the characters, is just perfect.
If you want more from the same composer (Shoji Meguro did the music for all three persona titles as well as Strikers) with an *extremely* different vibe, look up the music from Metaphor:ReFantazio! Also, the SMT Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga sound tracks are amazing.
Persona 3 and 5 have really good really stylized music, but Persona 4s soundtrack is just another level of skill. Everytime I hear Shadow World after not hearing it for a while it makes me tear up. It’s that good and the lyrics go with the story of facing yourself so perfectly.
You need to play persona 4 golden!!! The way this game completely changed the way i think about mother games and how it made me chnage as a person cannot be explained. Its just such a good game
If you are doing a part 2 I would recomend The Almighty, The Mist(Fog), Your affection, Snowflakes, Heaven, Kioku(memories), Pursuing my true self, Corridor.
Still my favorite game in the series. It's about a murder mystery, and yet... it's so cozy. Both in ambiance and also in vibes. It feels like you're spending a year with your closest friends. Even the other Persona games don't reach these heights.
She should definitely listen to both the Kirby star allies soundtrack and the super Mario 3d world soundtrack; both are criminally underrated masterpieces.

The best song on the whole sound track is Reincarnation - I'll Face Myself -Battle. Most emotionally charged song in the entire thing. Glad it made it in. Theres a lot going on in this fight in relation to the boss and the party.
While I like P4 and its music, it just doesn't hold up to P3 or P5 for me personally... But man, Reincarnation is absolutely amazing! The Fog as well if I remember correctly. Actually, I think music wise I put the original P3 and P4G in the same category but P5 and P3 Reload take it to the next level

P4, the Characters: P4's just feel so real to me and the idea of being happy despite being flawed. P5, the Style: Everything the Phantom thieves do is just really cool/stylish.
