Hi! I found your video randomly. I also was planning to buy something on Goyard online. In my case, it would be a Saint Louis PM. I live in the Netherlands and Goyard told me that it would cost 250 EUR to ship to my house. For that price, I can go to Paris by myself (Thalis, of course), take the bag, pay for my lunch, and come back. I am still planning to buy the bag, but I will buy it on my next trip to France.
Yaiks! Definitely a better plan to buy it from Paris 💎 their shipping fees compared to other brands are crazy high but maybe this reflects that they don’t want to have an online business but if someone really wants something but can’t get to a Goyard store thet can get the item with massive additional costs 🫤
I think so too! Maybe this reflects that they are not looking into making online sales as a part of their business... But anyway, I think it's nice that in case there was something from Goyard that I absolutely need to get, it would be possible without visiting a city that has a Goyard store :)
I’ve realized the “shipping and handling” fee is most likely their way to charge tax for customers not located in state with a boutique. I’ve purchased from distance sales before and I live 6 hours from a Goyard store in another state. Since they can’t charge sales tax because there isn’t an actual boutique in my state I previously only had to pay $20 for shipping. Recently I placed a distance sales order and the cost of the bag was $2700. The S&H fee was $290. This amount is equivalent to 10% sales tax ($270) plus shipping ($20). It’s still not as bad as markup on the aftermarket but they should really just say you’re paying for shipping and taxes.
Super interesting! I had no idea, there is the possibility to do „distant shopping“ with Goyard. Now I‘m curious for the shipping price to Germany 😁 - I think I would pay a max. of 20€ for shipping 🤔
What a SCAM! 😆 As others said, I wonder if it's the same if you buy from within the same country. My nearest Goyard is in London and that's a costly trip. I want to fill in the form myself now and see how much they would charge me. It may not always be easy to go a boutique, apparently there are always queues if it's the only one in the area.
If possible, I’d suggest making an appointment to Goyard to avoid the queuing! When I bought my Goyard bag from the Milan store I waited in line for almost 2 hours! 😅 it’s so ridiculous to spend that much time waiting (which is also away from the general travel time in Milan) but I wanted the bag 😬😆 after that experience I’d be more than happy to shop at Goyard from the comfort of my own home but not with those ”shipping” costs!

Thanks so much for sharing this tip!! I had no idea of this work-around. The shipping fee is nuts! They should really have disclosed that earlier.

Very helpful, thx for your detailed review, will maybe try to order a St Louis, but the shipping costs are outrageous 😅
If the shipping costs are the same for more expensive items as well then relatively it won't be that bad for the St Louis :D

Yep, transparency is the best way in my opinion as well! Thank you for sharing

It probably would be less than 70€. I’m just a bit surprised that within EU it would cost that much 😅
My bf has to pay 115€ for shipping to germany, sooo expensive

Thanks for sharing your story. For 70EUR I would rather buy a plane ticket to Paris 🙂
Yes agreed!
Ohhh, sounds a bit clunky and the shipping fee is extortionate. Sounds like they don't want international business 🤔
Yep clearly online sales is not their main business line and they are not interested in making it into one
They charged me 320 USD shipping fee!!!!
Ugh! Safe to say, they are not looking into building an active online business
Thank you ❤❤❤
My pleasure!
