2010 VW Jetta TDI - unlock the RNS510 VIM video in motion dvd player capability

Does your Volkswagen have a DVD video player? Do you hate that it shuts the video screen off when you drive over 5 mph? I do!! I dont watch videos when I drive, but my lovely lady does... and when she's happy, life is sweet. This easy task to turn that safety feature off made her really happy. She can now watch any DVD on long trips.

It worked on my 2010 VW passat TDI bleumotion (Europe). First it didn't take until i did a hard reboot and the system was unable to start up (enter SWL CD) then put the cd in and a minute later.................... GREAT SUCCES :-)

Hey great video! I also have the rns 510 and I have the VIM active and I was wondering will video only work from a dvd or can I also hook up an sd hard and load movies that way. Have you done anything like that?

Hi FEEL GOOD! As long as you have the same DVD model unit. This one is the RNS510. I know there are other updates out there for the other VW units - Here is a good thread that may answer that for you: forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=396449

Bluetooth handsfree for your phone calls. But not for music and digital videos. This model just lets you connect through Bluetooth to make calls through the "phone" button on the dash.
