    I have seen this guy drift at Ultrace this year, and I have to say, he is incredible! His control over the car and his near misses were amazing to see! He's got a lot of talent

    Those little 1200 GX coupés had an almost cult-like following in ZA. I always wanted one as a kid in the 80s and even then they were so rare. I had a 1400 Champ (the pick up version) and with slight mods it was tons of fun and dangerous in the wet. Very talented young man,

    As a sort of young person, it’s always funny to see car guys around Larry’s age be surprised that young car guys are into old cars lol

      Sometimes I actually forget that Larry is an older guy, cause he just seems so much younger than he actually is lol.

    We had a 1971 & a 1972 Datsun 1200 fastback in the 1970's & '80's. I think, that the original 1200cc engine produced 69 horsepower. They were fun cars.

    That kid is going places! Not only can he drift like a pro but also in a light small car which is way more snappier. I'm totally blown away right now! 😲😎👍

    I prefer the 1200 coupe over the 510 overall here in South Africa these chassis is very popular in the drag racing scene with all sorts of engine swaps under the hood

    NOTHING handles better than a 1200 coupe. Mum had one back in the 70's,and I thrashed it every where, can't kill them. Got a 240Z and a P710 would love a 1200 coupe but they are getting expencive, like the ones I've got. You need a bag of spuds in the back of it, too light to make good smoke. New Zealand

    Why is his age a big deal? Lots of young teens 13 years old are doing it. Maybe he comes from a drifting family and was introduced to it at an early age.. do some research and you'll see it's not a rare thing 😆🙄

    • @archygrey9093
      @archygrey9093 8 месяцев назад +1

      Younger kids than him racing isn't a big deal, but drifting at that level is pretty impressive especially with a little car like that, things twisting all over the place

  • @sepg5084

  • @bencheesecake8795

    why does drifting have so camber? A fast track setup wouldn't have anyway near that amount.

    • @sil80irl98
      @sil80irl98 Год назад +1

      I can't explain it properly but they run more camber on the front so that there is more tyre making contact with the tarmac on full lock, someone please correct me if I'm wrong

    • @Iain240
      @Iain240 Год назад +1

      A big part of it is just that the lower control arm has to be extended a lot to allow for the huge steering angles necessary, and the rules of most series say the top mount can't be moved so that produces a lot of camber.
      Also as another has already been said when on lock the castor angle will give the leading wheel positive camber, so the negative camber cancels that and leads to the leading wheel being flat on the ground.
