That American Crane (America Hoist/ Industrial Brownhoist) was made in Bay City,Mi. My Father(1911-1992) worked there from 1942-1972. I saw many of them as they left the plant. I'm 85 now. The plant has been demolished , and is now High rises and fancy resturants....
It is hard watching great places and great things we have built waste away and disappear forever. I love documenting these places and things, so at least they won't be forgotten.
After two tank cars I see a steam engine's tender. Wonder how did it get into the middle of the train consist. Several more tenders after the crane and logger.
I grew up less than a mile from here they started parking them here in the mid 80's they said to start with they were temporarily and just being "stored" for future restoration. That was when it was cheails western then later on it became the mount rainier "scenic" railroad and more old cars started being sent in to be parked. It's a shame the older tender wasn't saved! The engine for it is in the Mt rainier railroad museum.
YEP... the Mt Rainier Scenic railroad Tender you found was off of the #5 2- 8 - 2 Porter engine. The engine is in the Mt Rainier Scenic Railroad museum but I guess the tender wound up out here. This is all old Milwaukee Railroad trackage.
The reporting mark MRSR is the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad which is still running excursions in Elbe, Washington, It would be interesting to know if the tracks parallel to the railcars in this video are still in service as part of the MRSR.
It was interesting seeing those old freat cars but surprised to see Cole tenders and that one was a Vanderbilt tender and yes that was a snoplow and that indianola is a rare one . but I was most interested in seeing was that third tank car the first two tank cars we're small Dom's and were good too see but that third one I wanted to see more of like what was that at the bottom of the trock I watched the video again and stop it at certain times to get a better look at it. I'm also interested in other tank cars like that one like the twin dome the triple dome and even a 6 dome if you can find any of them but the twin dome is the rarest...
It was truly amazing to find them and the response and comments has been amazing. Thank you for your knowledge I enjoy reading the comments, thank you.
Looks like this is in Washington, sense one of the cars said Mt. Rainier. Too bad you didn't have a rail cart. It would be fun to see where the track went to. Awesome find.
Those were parked there somewhere in the late 1980 s when Chehalis Western owned by the Weyerhaeuser corporation shut down the log hauling operation and sold off some of it to the City of Tacoma through the state I beleive. CW on the log car was for Chehalis Western. This was in Washington state right?
The crane was most likely used for bridge maintenance/building, it would be way more trouble than it’s economically worth to move the crane and it’s support cars to a location likely tens or even hundreds of miles away just to remove a fallen tree from the tracks when a section gang with some light track equipment could clear the tracks in a couple hours.
Wow that was very wonderful and beautiful thank you yes that train that says b**** race me I would I put it back in service and the whole line got that right have a blessed one✨🚂🚃🚃✨🌹🌹♥️♥️💯👍✨💌✨✌️✨
How many total cars were out there? I live in Washington and when my son was younger we went to Elbe and went on that train ride. Haven’t seen the museum though.
I think I remember there being about 12 to 15 cars. I haven't been to the museum either, I think after looking at google it was about 3 miles from the museum on a side track.
I know one is on display in a Town about 10 miles away ( Elbe, Washington) I show it in another video I did you might enjoy. Shown closer to the end. It's owned by MRSR Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad Abandoned Train Trestle called Boxcar Canyon. ruclips.net/video/6Zl37juQJV4/видео.html
WHO do we contact to find out about the MRSRR?? We need to get this treasure back into operation. Is it simply a matter of funding?? Any info is greatly appreciated!!
I would be careful around those old tank cars, you don't know what chemical was in them or what residue may still be there. With that said it's a good video.
And how come the government or city government has done anything to remove the tracks or any of the equipment that was left behind on the Logging Company? Things like that are dangerous if someone explores around there. I know your guy that's going to be safe about stuff like that but you got to think about other people who don't. So our city government or government should do something abandoned stuff like that around each States.
Only the railroad can get by abandoning cars on their property. Anyone else would have to clean up their mess. Even abandoned a load of logs so what if the tankers are full and eventually polute the stream? Think of how much steel could be recycled.
@@snydedon9636 My dad and stepdad both worked for the railroad from 1947 till 1996 so you have no idea of the operations. Two of the companies I work for shipped by rail as well.
Ho-Hum, everybody knows about the MRSR, it has been around for 40+ years. Sometimes in better shape than now, but always around. In fact, people have operated over those tracks in August of 2021.
Sad to think because of 2020-21 that the future of MRSR is in jeopardy as they stated. Hopefully that will change and new funding will come forward to save such a great preservation of history.
@@MaxProductionsTV I agree. I take it this is in WA. I lived in the Seattle area (from the east coast) for 12 years and then OR for 7 years. Great times!

Totally amazed! There’s thousands of dollars worth of steel!
So true!
After two tank cars I see a steam engine's tender. Wonder how did it get into the middle of the train consist. Several more tenders after the crane and logger.
The big hook in there too!
The car at 7:00 is(was) a crew car that men would sleep in when working on remote sections of the RR.
Ahh thanks for the info.

The rail road did so much to build this country. People don't realize it.
Magnifique beautiful vidéo Big likes 👍🚂🚃🚃🚃
Thank you so much!
Awesome video. Did they ever get those abandoned cars out of there? Remove the tracks and replace it with a bicycle path?
Thank you, I believe they are still there last time I checked.
Hay harto material para ir a cortar con oxicorte y hacer inventos o piezas en tornos y fresadoras.
Sí, habría mucho metal para reciclar o reutilizar

Where is this located, what State. Thanks for sharing
In Washington State, near the town of Mineral.
They were, and still are, the truckers of today
Looks like someone is maintaining these tracks
Equipment stored by Mt Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum, currently closed.
Thanks Josh.

That last real car that you described is a gondola. It would haul scrap or maybe Railroad ties.
Thanks I love trains, still learning.
Are you in Elbe, Washington? That’s stuff for the museum.
No it's near a town called Mineral out in the Mountains. Elbe is about 10 miles away.
I wonder if that’s the MRRR 2-8-2’s Vanderbilt tender that last ran in 2003?
I'm not sure, thanks for watching.
This in not abandoned. It is privately owned.
out of the old cars there where two old steam engine tenders... but where are the engines they belong to?

Question. Why did the company leave stuff like this around and what state is this in abandoned rail cars and tracks at?

Near Mineral, Washington
I wonder why all of these cars were abandoned. What is the REAL story in the history of them? I wish we knew. Thanks for sharing this video.
The railroads were just very good at waste and no upkeep for decades.👎
Why would a railroad just abandon their machinery?

narrow gauge noice
Why would they just park it ans leave it abandoned?
I believe due to Covid they shut down the museum and train rides until further notice.
Lots of money just wasted.
Please be careful visiting such abandoned places. There could be wild animals in the forest.
There’s worse wild animals in the cities.
