Literally googled “cars in caves uk” and dozens of articles came up saying it was no more than 100 cars and it’s just somewhere people dumped old cars forty/fifty years ago. This dude clearly doesn’t do any research saying there’s a 1000 cars and some look new and no one knows how they got there
Hes american. Americans over exaggerate and find everything they havent seen before amazing. He’s like a kid in a candystore
the only thing he lied about was the 1000 cars and that was for views everybody does it relax bro

In the 70s and the 80s the price off scrap was so low that you were charged to scrap cars so people used to dump them in deep holes in the uk.
charles mclachlan And that's the truth. No mystery here.
lol thanks i was thinking why not scrap them
Or they were stolen
charles mclachlan - yep in the 90s to early 2000’s too.
I remember finding stolen / abondened cars dumped everywhere. If you needed parts for certain cars it was definitely a good time
It was late 90s to early 2000s this changed when China started needing scrap metal, so scrap yards started buying it up and putting it on a boat.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but the cars you can see under the water are a Saab 96, Vauxhall Viva HB and an Austin 1100. Some of the other cars in there include a maroon Ford Corsair, a couple of Mk2 Cortina Estates, Ford Capri Mk1, Hillman Imp, Green Triumph 1500, Triumph Herald, Hillman Hunter, Morris Marina Van, Morris Oxford.
I know Mark, you sold me half of them as 1 previous owner.
Sound like cars from the early 70s some scrapper lost out there. Ahh the guy just said 60s 70s 80s most of those lads sound like my accent are they mancs?

hmm seems like a trash chute to me
people of those times the 40's to early 70's used to throw their trash anywhere
look at glass beach in cali. a towns rubbish dump that only the glass remains

only major cities did not want you just dumping in out of the way locations
rural towns did not know nor care about environmental damage.
It wad the council who dumped it, it's all online
🤣🤣🤣I was waiting to see this comment from like the second I saw the sunlight from the hole
then the dude with the accent tells what likely happened
Bloke is an idiot. Worst explorer, nil research, shit equipment, and the dumbest haircut I’ve ever seen.
Infact. I am going to send a bill for wasting my life.
I did some research and when the mine closed in 1960 the nearby residents used it as a dumping ground.Chucking down cars and household items through the hole where the light come through

This happened all over the UK when we became a throwaway society in the 1960's & 1970's, people dumped things anywhere they couldn't see them, in the sea, mines, buried in the garden ETC ... when the canals in cities stopped being used commercially they also became full of unwanted stuff including cars.
Looking after the environment has become more popular & scrap metal is more valuable now too.

You can see the sky up over the pile of cars. Not hard to figure out how they got down there.
@Eryn Jones a earthquake can happen literally anywhere so maybe a earthquake happened there idk I didn’t do the research.
A new article said that the locals use this to discard their appliances and cars, etc. Its not a mystery at all if u live in that area
The dump lol
I love how authentic these are. Like this is real, you don't insist it was haunted or use Ouija boards or just fake stuff for the views. Its truly about appreciating places like these and loving what your doing. And dude, exploring is hard; when friends and I do it we go to like 3-5 duds before we find a place we can explore.
Tessa Red ...curious if your referring to the explore channel last night that brought the ouija board
Lol he literally made up a story about King Arthur’s cursed sword
"Literally NO ONE knows how these cars got here!" says about 50 times despite a quick Google search and any local person being able to tell you how they got there. I like the exploration but he adds his American way of advertising to EVERYTHING
This place is literally off the chart, I cannot believe this place is in my country it's just insane. If someone told me about this Cavern of Lost Souls I would not, could not believe them or it. Well done getting in and out safely Josh, you were definitely in good hands!

All junked car parts is what I saw. It was a dumping site for anything not worth keeping.
Even with this information, it still looks creepy tho
For real dudes a sucka fish
It was an illegal dump to save scrap costs … not city!
No one knows how these cars got here!
*Just don't pay attention to the gaping car sized hole pouring sunlight in to this super dooper mysterious place
I thought the same thing, but He says no one knows why the cars are down there. Not how.
Well, they're just abandoned, probably wrecked or not running?
@Hans Solo Well, an actual scrap yard will pay you a couple hundred to a couple thousand depending on what you bring them. parts get salvaged or smelted down to be reused. This is just a whole in the ground, Why you'd waste the value of the car by leaving it there doesnt make sense.
I'm not defending the video, It is stupid, But it's not like they're pretending that it's a wonderous mystery how the car got there.
no one knows why? okay .hahaha
@@nikolaast it depends on the price of scrap metal, which goes upand down all the time. Ive taken cars to the scrap yard and got anywhere between £30 and £250 for similat sized cars
Somebody should run one of the license plates or if they can get a VIN number and see the background on the car and maybe figure out more of where they came from.
that's what i was thinking
Odd that it hasn't been done before, or that it wasnt reportedly done. No mention what so ever and yet so elementary in this day and age to investigate and obtain any records of the cars as the first step into finding the truth....
@@astan26 Right that should've been a given. So is this real or made up? Trying to get a back story would've killed all my doubts
It might of been a dump. Easier to push them in a hole then have a cat dig holes placing them in. Then covering them back up. That or insurance jobs and GTA's. People back then didnt know old cars would be sought for like they are today too. Your car died you went and got a new one. Why you hear all these stories of people dragging old shelby mustangs out of junkyards. Theres even a group of people who will pay you a fair amount of money if you find an old Shelby gt500. Theyll come get it too. Most have been accounted for making the prices on them crazy high. If people had known what they were going to one day be worth then wouldnt of ended up many of them have lol.
Ebone Phillips umm how could it be made up? Theres pretty clearly a large pile of old cars in a cave.
This has to be by far my favorite exploring video so far! I have loved automobiles from a real young age. The fact there is 100’s of cars in a cave and nobody knows why, it’s crazy! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us so we know this place exists!
its common knowledge the mind just became a convenient place to scrap cars. Google 'Welsh car cave' and you will get several articles telling you exactly what happened.
"Advenutes in our blood" proceeds to move like its his first day ever having legs.
The main reasons why I watch your videos is for the amount of passion and respect you have for these places, not just there for the "content" - You can tell that you have an underlying appreciation for this kind of exploring. Keep it up Josh!
respect is not climbing over it
I was talking about him personally respecting these places, not the dude who nearly shredded himself clambering over the cars further up..
If there was so much respect for the place. Why add to the litter by throwing light sticks in there?
Vince Allkins Or throwing a relic of a sword into trash in a cave where no one can appreciate it. Plus the hair and pants say he's after views and only interested in this at face value, he's posh. "The sword is cursed!" What a fool. That's something you say for views. This is real man, raw entertainment hahah he's a meme.
Honestly I missed the video...I was too busy reading these amazing comments. 😂 👏

It's crazy to think that everything in these places he visits, was once mint condition. Every car in this cave was once brand new, the mine cart at the beginning of the video was once used regularly by workers. The teapot once sat in a kitchen of a house torn down years ago. But since forgotten. Likely to never see the sky again, living on only in this video.
Josh you keep these places alive. Record it's history and preserve its future.
Never stop doing what you love Josh. You're making a difference
Edit: corrected a typo
It's interesting, but if you asked a resident that lives in the area, you'd find out that rather than taking things to the junkyard, people were dumping their cars, tv's, random junk, even that sword down the mine due to laziness. Basically it's not mysterious.
Nonsense … not laziness … they had to pay for scrapping stuff.
I spoke to my dad about this as he lived in the area apparently it was a huge insurance scam as most people only had fire and theft insurance they paid to have their car stolen and then would claim on the insurance this is one of the sites the cars got dumped in.
That would make the most sense in my mind... Strip the car of engine/gearbox, dump it and report as stolen... Or use the cars for crimes and then dump it :P
Makes no sense … it was an illegal dump as scrapping shit back then did cost done money. Getting rid of scam in well known area is somewhat nonsense!

Reminds me of the original "JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH" (1959)...That water was probably filled with auto fluids that drained out? I shared this video to my Newsfeed...
DANPETRYSSHOWCASE agreed!
You can look it up. The cars were dumped for a reason. States online that the council once used that cave for a dumping ground for cars, refrigerators, old tv's, and other household items.
syndel sackett I also found this on google!
Lol...that's not a reason
Oh wow no wonder the water is so dangerous. All the hazardous materials.
Imagine how polluted that water is 😂
I couldn’t find any comments identifying the types of cars in the cave, so for whoever is interested, here goes. In the water, the car on its side and nearest to the camera looks like the rear of one of the BMC ADO16 cars (e.g. Austin/Morris 1100 or 1300), with a Saab 96 above it. The car resting on the Saab matches the shape of a Vauxhall Victor 101, but I can’t be certain.
Above the water I saw two Mark 2 Ford Cortinas (a pale blue estate and the rear of a dark blue saloon, on its side behind the estate one), the rear of a Triumph Dolomite (dark green, under the Cortina Estate), a Mark 1 Ford Capri (same pale blue, the car that one climber fell into), a Ford Corsair (maroon red - the one in the foreground that they climbed over) and under the Corsair, one of the BMC Farina cars (grey, an Austin Cambridge I think). Finally at the far side, a black Mini van (not a Mini Clubman as stated by one of the climbers). The rest were too mangled, buried or submerged to identify from the footage. All of those identified seem to be of late 1960s or early 1970s vintage.
Mo Campbell my guy it was a bel air and a impala
The car the guy is stood on and slips in the boot at ruclips.net/video/IdvcJ1yXtLU/видео.html in the video is a Ford Capri MK1 or possibly MK2
@Rick Miller I read somewhere that the county or whatever that this is in used this strictly for cars involved in road accidents. So yes it's all junk.
@@mstewart3711 the underwater Saab looks pretty intact.. but we see only this side of it..
I'm impressed Even if you have no idea I bought it
Cars like elephants know they are about to die. So they sneak off alone, to be at peace.

this is so crazy, it's ridiculously pretty. i love your videos, i've been watching them since about 2016 and i really appreciate the way you explore things and talk about the history behind places. it's fascinating as hell.
Cave explorers and they're wearing Jean's and sweaters.
You misspelled "hipsters with camera's". Cave explorers are more experienced and prepared, please don't mix these two up.
But they got zippers on their jeans so give them some credit..
It's the sword thing that got me!
Well, when jeans were created, they were actually working pants. People (e.g. gold miners) in mines and cave systems had only pants out of fabric, leather and other soft material. They were easy to tear apart but the jeans were harder and safer. That's why they were created in the first place. Only working class people had jeans back then.
I know that there are now actual clothes for that sort of things but hey, jeans are something. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is there caving pants?

matt clark they don't look like stolen vehicles that were taken for a joy ride... they are stripped down... possibly from a illegal chop-shop where parts were sold off and these are the remains that were dumped or as someone else has suggested legal business with nowhere else to get rid of the unwanted parts.
Another reason the water is toxic is the huge amounts of arsenic and other minerals in it. Just learning this in my geo 101, thought it might be helpful:) always be careful of stagnant water especially when in caves. Running river water of course is safe because of how diluted it is of all those minerals. But because cave and ground water is stagnant and fresh from in the ground, it doesn't have the time or way to be filtered out.
Go back to school and learn more.
Josh I swear you give us a heart attack every time!! THIS WAS AMAZING! Be careful and keep up the fantastic work!!!

Loved the video! People probably found the cave out in the 60’s and discovered it would be a good dumping spot for their cars. And they probably stopped in the 80’s when people discovered the cave. That’s probably what happened.
"Oh my God ;
oh my God,
oh my God........-There.
Now you don't have to
say it, anymore ."
Best ways to exsplore a cave: stylish shoes tight pants and no safety gear
Doninik L he had a respirator
Hey, at least they had hepa filters.
Like a true badass.
@@mukbunny like a true dumb ass I think is what you really ment to say
He said it was his most dangerous exportation ever but yet he doesn't bring a helmet?
You found my grandma's car! I knew I parked it somewhere around there!
Came from the instagram pics, that is insane 👀
This is my second EWJ vid, these are places I will never go. I was an explorer when I was a preteen but now I'm just a traveler.
Seriously i got goosebumps in some of the seens. It is literally very dangerous video of yours. Hats of to you man . Seriously you are very courageous explorer ever. Love you man.be safe.
Did anyone else think of “The Goonies” when he said..”It all starts here”?..🤣
Everyone that watches him haven’t even watched that movie 🤣
I absolutely love everything about your content. I’ve been following you since about 2016 and to see how your videos and channel has progressed is insane. This video is incredible, quite the gem! Keep it up my dude✌🏻👌🏻
love how he says he thinks that he’s found king Arthur’s sword, so sad lmao
British lads will look after you no problem. Honour amongst friends here Josh...
At one time those cars were somebodys pride and joy, fresh outta the show room..
@James Rm Ok fresh off the lot...
@Jet Rm1 I mean creative liberties man.
So who was illegally dumping cars down that hole? Maybe it was a "Mob" grave yard? did you look in the trunks of the cars?
A mob? In Wales 🤣🤣the local council put them there
bigpiffs lol still, look for remains in the trunks!
😂😂 maybe Jimmy Hoffa is in there
My question is why would you dump a car with license plates still on it? Im not buying the mine theory
I bet there are bodies in that water.
Man, I got full on _Goonies_ vibes from this video!! I swear, I bet one day Josh is going to come across some pot full of gold with all these explores
And then leave it where he found it because he respects places too much 😂😂
Lubii Lubna oh ya i saw that movie 🎥 call goonies
Total goonies vibe.....so cool
I think he is on actual POT
They're too young to know that Goonies never die
If you're here for the video title skip to 16:35 to save time. You're welcome. Also such a shame a beautiful cave with what looks like pristine water ruined by human trash.
PooDot StinkPants thankyou
Thanks
Thank you
No problem glad to help. Take care
I have to agree. I kept tapping my screen to get past them arriving at the cars. And totally disappointed at how much we seen when they arrived. Boring video.
This video had me on edge the whole time! I loved it so much. Your videos always make me want to do some urban exploring.
NOBODY KNOWS HOW THEY GOT THERE!! lol Literally the first Google link tells you
how
@kim it was used as a dumping grounds for a local town. @John Delk it adds to the "mystery".
When he says what’s up explorers I think in head I watch these so I don’t have to explore and I can just lay in bed 😂😳😳😳😳😳
Don't worry a quest to the fridge for supplies is kinda like a exploration. Half way there
reminds me of a scene from
the movie IT
Which one?
@@calimango7926 I think the place where the bodies were floating or where that girl was kidnapped by Pennywise
Yah ur in pennywise County
Would you like a balloon?
So if you Google the cavern of lost souls you can find that the district council used these caves as a dumping ground for big items like cars and electronics.
Joe s "this is 2018 and the Internet doesn't know why or how these cars got here!" Hahaha FAKE NEWS!!!
