First console I played was the Xbox. (Republic commando was my jam) that’s why I prefer it lol. The Xbox and PS4 controllers both have pros and cons and cool features and because of that it just comes down to whichever one you feel you are more adapted to.
The stick placement makes a lot of sense on the Xbox. The left stick is higher because it is easier to run forward as your thumb is already in the perfect position, and the right stick is down as it needs more precision for aiming/looking.
I'm just used to the ps4 controller. For me it's a lot easier to aim, and on the Xbox the analog sticks get kind of slippery and my thumbs fall off. It's probably just me lol but I cannot play on the Xbox controller

I prefer the DualShock 4 because the analog stick placement and overall design makes it a far more versatile and dependable controller. It works great for 3d games but it ALSO works wonderfully well for 2d games and fighting games. The Xbox One on the other hand is really great for 3d games, but when it comes to 2d, side scrolling, fighting, etc. it's significantly worse, and that's because of the placement of the sticks and the dpad. What some people consider the Xbox's advantage I consider its disadvantage. Even if you prefer the analog stick at the top half of the controller, you gotta admit that it's only slightly better; the PS4 stick placement is still fine. However, for 2D, fighting, and other classic genres, the dualshock 4 has a significant advantage. Overall the dualshock 4 is the more versatile controller, it works great for pretty much all kinds of games, whereas the Xbox's only really shines in games that rarely use the dpad.
I always loved PlayStation controllers until I got the 2nd generation controllers for the first Xbox. That basic design is what they still use and its fantastic. I never thought I would like anything more than the PS controller style but Xbox has such a good, comfortable design. Also, I never thought the d pad or buttons on my Xbox One was loud. 🤔
Honestly great video really covered all categories but I don’t think videos like these hold be put on RUclips cause at the end of the day day it comes to personal preference I’ve been on PS4 Xbox and pc and to this day I switch between the both controllers while playing COD or whatever there both great and both consoles are great (but pc is always gonna be the best)

Personally prefer the Xbox layout much more, the analog sticks and triggers are much more natural and fluid and the analog sticks have an indent for you thumbs where as the PS4 analog sticks have a bubble that seems to push my thumbs off. PlayStation makes a great console and has a great lineup of games, but for me at least Xbox takes the cake with their controllers in terms of options of customization, their UI is easy and clean, and they have forza so....
then you better used Xbox controller than PS to compare which is better, because I owned both PS4 and Xbox and I gotta say, Xbox is better than PS in controllers
tbh, I have played PS4 once in my life and play Xbox as a main console, and from my experience, the Xbox controller is way better, the Analog Sticks are perfectly placed, the triggers are easier to push, it fits in your hand perfectly, ofc its preference and opinion.

@@snipethestreamerairsoft9077 they're cheap though. The benefit of that is that you can just easily swap them out for a fresh pair and continue without having to be connected to charge. The downside of course being that you have to buy them and swap them out, have a charger for them etc. which I guess is just unpractical for most people. I am waging on which one to buy, and using rechargeable batteries is actually a benefit for me as I always have loads of rechargeable batteries laying around (the benefits of being a photographer), though I do like the simplicity of just a having a built in battery.

try to relax your palm completely and imagine you are holding a xbox controller, you can see that your thumb is already on the left analog, means that if you are using dualshock 4 you have to move your entire thumb to reach the dualshock's left analog so the ergonomic of dualshock sucks for real

I left a like but I think the PS4 is King in all categories. Also you can use DS4tool on Windows to fully operate your PC while still being able to game. Even the LEDs can be customized to show battery life and signal strength.
@Codrinel Cartoon I hold the PS4 controller slightly crooked, like a SNES controller. So even though it's symmetrical I turn my right wrist for a better grip. Now this is where the Xbox controller is designed to help, the sticks are more comfortable, but when I hold it like I do it makes the face buttons suck. I'm used to flat bulky old school controllers and the PS4 has a flat faced controller. It comes down to what's comfortable for you.

I do find the Xbone controller more ergonomically friendly but in terms of build quality the PS4 wins hands down. My xbone controller creaks when I grip too hard while the DS4 can take a beating.

Okay, so I have had both THIS IS MY OPINION (PLEASE DO NOT GET OFFENDED) I think both controllers are great. The ps1-3 controller design in my opinion was not the greatest and most ergonomic. Now I have been on PS4 since 2015 and I can say the controller is a massive improvement over the older designs but I just think Xbox is a bit better Reasons L2/R2 (LT/RT) placement. I just feel like the Xbox triggers fit much nicer into the hand (Quality) I also think the Xbox feels more premium. The plastic feels more solid and it feels sturdier in the grip

Honestly great video really covered all categories but I don’t think videos like these hold be put on RUclips cause at the end of the day day it comes to personal preference I’ve been on PS4 Xbox and pc and to this day I switch between the both controllers while playing COD or whatever there both great and both consoles are great (but pc is always gonna be the best)

Personally prefer the Xbox layout much more, the analog sticks and triggers are much more natural and fluid and the analog sticks have an indent for you thumbs where as the PS4 analog sticks have a bubble that seems to push my thumbs off. PlayStation makes a great console and has a great lineup of games, but for me at least Xbox takes the cake with their controllers in terms of options of customization, their UI is easy and clean, and they have forza so....

tbh, I have played PS4 once in my life and play Xbox as a main console, and from my experience, the Xbox controller is way better, the Analog Sticks are perfectly placed, the triggers are easier to push, it fits in your hand perfectly, ofc its preference and opinion.

@@snipethestreamerairsoft9077 they're cheap though. The benefit of that is that you can just easily swap them out for a fresh pair and continue without having to be connected to charge.
The downside of course being that you have to buy them and swap them out, have a charger for them etc. which I guess is just unpractical for most people.
I am waging on which one to buy, and using rechargeable batteries is actually a benefit for me as I always have loads of rechargeable batteries laying around (the benefits of being a photographer), though I do like the simplicity of just a having a built in battery.

try to relax your palm completely and imagine you are holding a xbox controller, you can see that your thumb is already on the left analog, means that if you are using dualshock 4 you have to move your entire thumb to reach the dualshock's left analog so the ergonomic of dualshock sucks for real

I left a like but I think the PS4 is King in all categories. Also you can use DS4tool on Windows to fully operate your PC while still being able to game. Even the LEDs can be customized to show battery life and signal strength.
@Codrinel Cartoon I hold the PS4 controller slightly crooked, like a SNES controller. So even though it's symmetrical I turn my right wrist for a better grip. Now this is where the Xbox controller is designed to help, the sticks are more comfortable, but when I hold it like I do it makes the face buttons suck. I'm used to flat bulky old school controllers and the PS4 has a flat faced controller. It comes down to what's comfortable for you.

Everyone just saying. Both of them are good and bad. It depends on personal preference. I prefer PS4 cause the feel and the anolog sticks feel more normal.
I do find the Xbone controller more ergonomically friendly but in terms of build quality the PS4 wins hands down. My xbone controller creaks when I grip too hard while the DS4 can take a beating.
I think you should add cost and reliability into consideration.

I hate that you have to recharge the ps4 controller. Much easier to have a pack of 4 rechargeable batteries with the Xbox controller and just swap them out and always have them charged and ready

THIS IS MY OPINION (PLEASE DO NOT GET OFFENDED) I think both controllers are great. The ps1-3 controller design in my opinion was not the greatest and most ergonomic. Now I have been on PS4 since 2015 and I can say the controller is a massive improvement over the older designs but I just think Xbox is a bit better
