I have only noticed my recently rescued streetwise cat drink out of her water bowl twice in the past few months but she pees like a racehorse. My Persian, on the other hand, drinks water like she has just crawled across the Sahara desert but prefers to make a few smaller deposits in the litter box rather than a single massive one!
My current cats love water. I think it's because of their past. One was a TNR and one was locked in a carrier for a week up to a month. They are particular about it and demand fresh water, but that's really no problem. We had to get them a water bowl for small dogs because cat water dishes were too small. They also like having a second water bowl. They only drink from 1 but throw a fit if the second isn't fresh too.
“Hay doc she got me this fountain thing ⛲️ for water called a cat fountain and I keep drinking the water, 💧, I got the zoomies again. tell her to buy more of that.” Would be great for that cat. 🐱 🐈
My parents got their cats one of those several years ago, and I still remember watching them explore it as if it were an alien spaceship before quickly accepting it.
My cat is afraid of fountains. In fact, the way we got her to drink more water was to put heavy, ceramic steins full of water around the house. She loves them, and drinks water from them. Whatever works.
"Felix, if you don't answer the questions, I'm going to tell Cheryl all the things you said about her, and I'm not going to give you this pen to bat off the counter."
