Yes it is. From Wishes to Eternity is a live dvd recorded in Finland in 2000 and it came out in 2001. The guest singer who sings this song there with Tarja is Tony Kako the frontman of the band Sonata Arctica. You should watch that performance! @@SueSueandthewolfman

The composition, the variety, and the sublime mix of vocals and instruments in this early Nightwish song intreges from the beginning to the end. A masterpiece, only one remark, too short, it finished suddenly at a time you want to attend more while listening.

Interviewer: What stands behind the Beauty and the Beast subject? Because I think those two vocabularies, they appear in a lot of Nightwish songs.
Tuomas: Well it's a matter of symbolism. Beauty and Beast, two different sides of everything. And also it's this Nightwish thing, where there's One Beauty and Four Beasts. 😇
The interviewer talked prob also about Beauty of the Beast released 2002 on the Century Child album, a song about lost/unrequited love

@@katjakoskiniemi8418 Marco's version is also great!! I like the one from the Tampere concert because the end run with Tarja and Jukka is faster-paced, but I like Marco's voice more on it! I wish we had gotten a good recording of it. Same with Beauty of the Beast, that song is also too good to not have been recorded in good quality but oh well..
Thanks for the reaction. This is one of my favorite songs from the album Angels fall first. This was their demo album and they didn't have much money for the best production yet. I saw an old recording of the performance where Tuomas sang, but the quality was terrible. I also love the From Wishes To Eternity concert performance with Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica. Tony is Tuomas and Tarja's friend.

This is one of four songs Tuomas sang on. He also sang on The Carpenter, Astral Romance, and Once Upon a Troubadour. This first album was originally recorded as a demo, so there was very little production value. The record company liked it so much they released it as-is, rather than re-recording and re-mixing. That was Emppu playing bass on this and the first album. Keep exploring Nightwish!
Once Upon a Troubadour is so underated, I didnt even know of it until a few years ago. All Nightwish fans need to listen to it if they do not know it.

Yep, Tuomas decided after this first album, that he wasn't a good enough singer. Never sang credited again. It wasn't Marko(joined 2001), or Sami (joined 1998) on bass. It was Emppu, he played the guitar and bass , in studio, on the first album.
Wolf, you liked the mix, also consider that the entire album is basically a demo. When they sent the demo album to their first label, the label liked it so much, they released it as is.
You've done 2 of the 4 songs Tuomas sang on, The Carpenter was the other you did, but you did the version with Troy and Floor. The other 2 you haven't done, Astral Romance and Once Upon a Troubadour.
I always thought that with a bit of coaching Tuomas could have done vocals. I think the elements are there. But having given it up early, he didn't take the opportunity of having an ex-vocal coach in the band ☹️
In any case, he's better than Tapio, so that wasn't an improvement
