Thanks for the very informative video, I didn't have a clue how to replace my actuator your instructions were top class and I managed to do it in less than an hour.

You don't need to buy the whole part just the white actuator it's about £10 on ebay just undo the unit with the one screw and take it off and replace in the same way. take photos of the old one in case. These normally break where the spindle goes in as they are very weak, I'm on my 3rd one!

I just replaced the motor and now the hatch wont latch, for some reason. It does latch when I wiggle the part in the hatch that should latch to the metal part on the car, but when I open it and try to close it after, it won't latch again.. Would you happen to know what goes wrong here?

Hey man great vid. Where did you get the boot latch kit?? Is there somewhere i can buy it online because I am in Australia and parts are hard to come by.

I have bought this kit in a local store here in Portugal, who also sells and repears Renaults vehicles. I am not sure if they are selling to worldwide, but you can take a shot contacting them thought: vitors@entreposto.pt, I have this contact because I have tried to purchase more parts recently. Is important to mention that they only sell new original kits and parts in package.

Thanks for the video. The tailgate on my Renault Clio II is stuck and it's making a mechanic sound whenever I lock or unlock the car. This probably means that the mechanism is not dead. I will have to check this :)

Andrej Tr if its a metal friction sound, maybe you could just spread some fine oil in the mechanical part of the locker. If this doesnt solve the sound problem, I serious advise you to change that part quickly, this warning is even more important for cars with 3 doors and 2 seats, there is no failsafe for those if you cannot open tail gate

I am planning on visiting the mechanic today because I am going on vacation next week, I'll update my fellow Clio owners later :)

A plastic part of the mechanism was broken (maybe someone was trying to break into the car or maybe it was just old) so I bought the entire mechanism (used part around 40 Euros) and replaced it successfully with the help of my friend.

Andrej Tr I dont recomend a used locker because its a matter of time till you have the same problem, and its a part that needs to be changed after sometime, because of usage and sun exposure. I have bought mine new for around that price in a local store. But you can get luck with that one.

Well, it looks as good as new:) I hope it will serve me well. None of the suppliers in my city wanted to get a mechanism like this for me. I've asked the official distributor of Renault in Macedonia and they told me that the mechanism costs 130 euros which was a little bit too much in my opinion :S

When I press the button I can hear the motor run but the door does not lock or unlock, is this the same problem as yours?

This is a poor video. You do not need to remove the bottom panel as shown. You need to only remove one screw holding in the lock actuator, A very easy fix even for the inexperienced.
All parts readily available via Amazon

What a load of garbage. You do not have to take it all to pieces like this boy did. There is only one screw to take out the locking mechanism and it is so darn easy to do.
No need to mess about with the bolts to take off the door lock etc.
All you do is take of the panel from the door carefully. Unscrew the one screw from the nylon lock and then screw your new one in making sure the steel push rod is in the correct place.
When you put the plastic panel back on door please do not use a hammer like the boy said. Use your thumbs to push and you will hear them click into place. NO NEED FOR HAMMERS.
Tools you will need is a star screwdriver and that is all.
