Once the unit is taken apart can the hard disk then be installed inside a PC? Is it simply a case of buying some cables and opening the PC case and install it?

After extracting the hard drive an connecting it into a "dock", it still wasn't working. Symptom : the dock power supply was "collapsing", as if there were a short circuit. After searching on the net, I found the existance of a protection diode : I removed it like shown here ruclips.net/video/qdXW-DUSsh8/видео.html, and that was a success !! Thanks for your video ! Thanks for this. I used a couple of very small screwdrivers to open the case. Once i cracked the end the rest came open easy. This external drive disconnects from my PC (is visible for a while then isnt). So i will chuck the HDD in my PC instead

Thanks for the video. I now know that when removing the dashboard, you have to press something at the height of the bracket of the airbag. But do you also have to do something with this when replacing the dashboard? Because mine doesn't fit tightly on the bottom part anymore. Or does this simply mean that the bracket is probably just crooked?

If you want to try replacing this, it's solderable lug audio potentiometer. the closest i've come to finding it was RV121SF-10-009J-A14-00K but no one seems to sell it anymore and the closest i could find was Alpha (Taiwan) RV121F-10-009J-A13-00K at mouser.com it just has no switch, exactly like the bass knob. hopefully i remember to update here if it actually worked, because mine has been clicking if it isn't on full volume and I assume the actual potentiometer has stared having issues.

You don't need to buy the whole part just the white actuator it's about £10 on ebay just undo the unit with the one screw and take it off and replace in the same way. take photos of the old one in case. These normally break where the spindle goes in as they are very weak, I'm on my 3rd one!

Ive tried honestly 10-15 different plugs and it wont power on . If i do as you did can i still use the harddrive ? Hey ! My creative volume rocket is damaged and I tried removing it and joining the incoming and outgoing wires only to find that they are of different colours. One has a combination of blue green and yellow , and the other has a combination of red and cream. Which do I connect to which , can someone help?

When I press the button I can hear the motor run but the door does not lock or unlock, is this the same problem as yours?

Spilled coffee on mine. Still works, and still turns on and off, but both the volume and bass controls are now EXTREMELY sloppy. I can still hear it and watch youtube, but music sounds awful. The spill must have ruined the potentiometers and they now have the wrong resistance.

This is a poor video. You do not need to remove the bottom panel as shown. You need to only remove one screw holding in the lock actuator, A very easy fix even for the inexperienced. All parts readily available via Amazon

There should be a separate on/off switch at the back of the subwoofer. But then, this speaker set only cost $80 new at the time. These 5.1/7.1 PC speakers are a thing of the past and no longer made. Nowadays, gamers use headphones, sound bars, 2.0 or 2.1 speakers.

What a load of garbage. You do not have to take it all to pieces like this boy did. There is only one screw to take out the locking mechanism and it is so darn easy to do. No need to mess about with the bolts to take off the door lock etc. All you do is take of the panel from the door carefully. Unscrew the one screw from the nylon lock and then screw your new one in making sure the steel push rod is in the correct place. When you put the plastic panel back on door please do not use a hammer like the boy said. Use your thumbs to push and you will hear them click into place. NO NEED FOR HAMMERS. Tools you will need is a star screwdriver and that is all.

Have had this drive for ages now and the ITE power supply finally kicked the bucket. Originally thought the drive itself died but using the PSU from my WD 4tb unit put those fear to rest. Thanks to your video I don't have worry about finding another power supply as the HDD shown was SATA compliant
