- I review the apps that come with Phosh on DanctNIX on my PinePhone Pro! Many of them are GNOME apps that have added mobile compatible layouts. Others are replacements for standard GNOME apps that are more mobile friendly. I'll also give updates on the camera functionality as well as the stability.

5h battery damn.. i really want a linux phone as a daily driver but looks like i gotta wait
Nice & useful video. I search by keywords for apps, text system markdown info etc. If not working, I remove & purge. The most viewed thread on PPP sub-forum is the external monitor one. PPP is really a multi distro pocket PC with phone screen/power. They should have fixed the monitor with a standard mobian release. Would be nice to see videos on external monitor performance, with serious apps like Libre Writer + Calc, various IDE apps for coding, etc.
Cool video, thanks! It seems like a cool platform to work on in order to fix bugs and to do something meaningful as a noob developer 🤔
Nice, thanks for the video I didn't know about epiphany can add sites as app shortcuts I'll definitely try it out, and about the background you can add it from the tweaks app under appearance settings, after you set it you will need to restart your phone for the background to work (I did this in my original pinephone).
Good to know! Thank you!
I'm mostly living in the terminal on mine for now and that's okay for me, though I use Firefox to look stuff up. (Tow-Boot/Mobian/Phosh.) Just curious; has yours been running particularly warm in general? My CPU temp has been hovering in the 55°C+ range a lot and I don't think I'm stressing it all that much. I looked through the forums some and haven't seen this to be a common topic.
You mentioned the mobile tethering wasn't available. In some of the distros i've tried if you go to the wifi section in settings and hit the ellipsis in the top right you can enable mobile hotspot. I had some issues with manjaro, but works very well with mobian. Definitely a deciding factor for making this a daily driver.
Epiphany/Web is good if you enable Hardware Acceleration in version 42 but you have to have some gstreamer packages. Then it works fine.
I hope in the future, phosh can be as light as lxde, so the rest of ram and resources can be used with ease. Anyway, 2GB of . . . Yeah, not even in android has been enough
How did you transfor you contact and sms from android to PPP
There is internet sharing option through WiFi hot-spot and it's working on OG PP. Press '...' button in WiFi settings to turn it of.
I'll take a look, thank you! I had a feeling I meet be missing something and I will do an updated video when I come back to Phosh.
I hope to see lomiri on pinephone pro soon
Not sure if you found the tethering option. I have yet to install a SIM card to test it. Go under Settings->Wi-Fi, click the "3 dot menu" in the upper right corner, and select "Turn On Wi-Fi Hotspot..."
Thank you! I don't think I found it yet. But I will explore more.
What sim company do you use? does 4g data work for calls text and internet?
I believe 4g lte works. I'm going to start trying to get new updates going next week. I use t-mobile. I had a bit of a break from youtube as I was finishing up a large project.
angelfish the plasma mobile web browser canadd icons to the desktop too
Whats the point of a linux phone if your just going to sign into google lol
Not having Google be a Kraken with it's tentacles deep within the os. Anyway for now I am using graphene for that.
But I would really love GNU/Linux mobile getting to a point where it is really competitive. Would make my desktop and phone be coherent:D
The clock and the calculator app is a copy of the iOS apps? Lol no the don't have anything in common except the functions Wich have been on most phones since the early 2000s
We need android versions of these apps
