The world's smallest 5G Phone - Unihertz Jelly Max Unboxing
I received my Jelly Max a few days ago to replace my Jelly Star that I lost in a taxi. I'll be opening up the box and showing exactly what's in there.
It includes:
- Extra Screen protector
- Phone (with attached screen protector and in soft shell)
- Instruction booklet
- USB-C to Headphone Jack
- Strap for the wrist
The size is comparable to an iPhone 13 mini. However, it is also about twice as fat. After some usage, my hand has gotten used to it, but it also makes the phone feel larger than what the screen size hints.

Did you know you can hack your mini console? - A Hakchi deep dive

Did you know that your mini retro console is likely to be modifiable? If it is a Nintendo Classic Mini, a Famicon Mini, a Super Nintendo Mini, a Super Famicom Mini, a Genesis Mini, or a MegaDrive Mini it is likely to be using an AllWinner board. AllWinner boards are standard ARM computers that have a built-in rescue mode, much like you have on your phone. Hakchi leverages this to install a cust...

Can I get Android Apps to run on my Linux Phone? - The magic of Waydroid

Today we take a look a Waydroid, a system for running Android Apps on Linux. While this is useful on the desktop, it is an escape hatch when moving to use a Linux phone as a daily driver. My Linux Phone Broke - What am I going to do?

My linux phone broke. I tried to insert a new sim card and it broke the pins. It looks like I can still install OSes by using tow-boot and booting in mass storage mode. I cannot believe how badly made the sim card and SD card insertion is. It is like it is designed to break, forcing you to buy a new board for $200. Today I review the state of Gnome Shell on the Pinephone Pro. While it is similar to Phosh, it's still its own thing. For the purpose of this review, I installed Gnome Shell using postmarkedOS. For 20 years now, I've been waiting to see a phone that allows you to see a desktop, tap, create file, select text, and just make a text file. Or see a file on the desktop, you click it, and it runs a program. Not an app from some marketplace, but a program, run an executable.

Another is ubuntu touch test the firefox on libertine modifited it i saw on telegram some users make it work on libertine it really fast like firefox on android, on Pinephone pro also try 4g calls let see if it works because ubuntu touch doesnt support it for android device the PPP hardware is different from android hardware though. This is the first time I've seen someone talk more about the mini consoles besides only adding more games. Thanks for showing us there's so much more we can do. Regarding Punch Out: was there that much lag on the original hardware, or is that strictly an emulation issue?

    • @bitterepic
      @bitterepic Месяц назад

      The CRT + original system is considered the 0 lag setup. There must have been some lag, but it is almost always less than compared to modern hardware. (It seems that CRTs can have around 8ms of lag.) A flat screen TV can add 20ms of lag over a CRT, especially if it is a cheaper/older one. Emulation can add lag because it is trying to accurately emulate the synchronization of the different chips. The synchronization becomes important in games that rely on timing, such as the wind effect in the beginning of FF6 which turns to a TV static sound without accurate timing. On a real system, all of these parts would be working more async. This is also why FPGAs tend to offer better results. It looks like ~20ms minimium lag from emulation. If you use a wireless controller, you might lose another 11ms. USB may have a 2ms. Because the OS is there, that might add some ms of latency because the emulator does not have direct access to the controllers. The beauty of runahead is that 2-3 frames will usually bring the lag to about the right spot so you don't have to put together a perfect setup or get an expensive FPGA system.

    • @graptakular
      @graptakular Месяц назад

      @bitterepic what's fascinating about this is that so many times I will indulge in a rerelease on say, the Nintendo Switch Online service, and I seem to be remarkably worse in games than I used to excel at. I used to think that aging was a factor in slower reaction speed, but perhaps maybe lag is having a larger impact that I expected. Of course, this does not apply to all games. But something like Fzero X comes to mind.

You don't need your specific device name on the waydroid website (the only thing is installation methods, they don't mind) You do not need to reboot, apart from making the root readonly. The waydroid icon (show-full-ui) starts the session for you. The separate app icons don't work properly yet. You don't need to re-type commands, when you press up, it reads the command from your hist file.
