I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting ‘The Founding of the Third Path’ to be in German. But when Surge started reading it I busted a gut and had to pause. 😂 Excellent, as always. Thank you.
This series continues to be the absolute pinnacle of content on the internet. Please continue to be amazing, and may you all constantly draw the cards in your deck printed in MH2
on the one hand, I totally get what Serge was going for with the "don't shuffle too much" line,,, on the other hand, it's Incredibly Funny as accidental BM lmao
I love this, at 26:00 serge could have pump esper sentinel in response to dark ritual to draw a card. Esper sentinel check for the X cost to pay at resolution.
Can we get a multi-angle close up of Wheeler shuffling? That post-mash flutter is so satisfying and I want to master it to intimidate my opponents. Because I'm bad at magic.
love the vibes here, really shows how magic should be played. both players just wanting to have a good game and working together to find the best lines
So what you're telling me is that Canadian Highlander deck archetype names are like LaCroix names, where it SAYS 'Raspberry' but it's really 'A single raspberry was in the next room over when this was canned'.
I've really fallen off mtg in the past year or two and unsubscribed most content creators related to magic but your show is still one of my personal content highlights in the mtg space!
51:19 i think serge missed 2 damage here which was ironic considering the following turns. Bolting on declared blockers before damage allows the creature to trample 2 over on that first strike damage as well. Not that it matters a huge deal but just found it interesting
@Sergio de la torre I was more wondering if that would be a good move. If he did, Wheeler most likely not pay the tax; meaning that he would save that one mana while Serge would get to draw a card. A good deal, to be sure. But, not sure if it would be worth the Jitte counter.
I wonder in that first game if Ben should've reanimated on Serge's turn. A surprise grizzy blocker would've still gained him 7 more life and he could've blocked face-breaker to stay alive and draw the cards so long as Serge didn't make a karn-struct on Ben's end step for safety. It would've meant not having jace to activate a loyalty ability on but I think that would've been ultimately the safer line.
Game one the play should’ve been to shallow grave grislebrand in response to attacks and used it to eat an attacker and gain life. That way it also would’ve still been in the graveyard to reanimate later as well
The first one was Snow-Covered Swamp. Wheeler's deck doesn't play any duplicates which is why he wasn't watching out for it as a possibility; it only plays 4 basics, which are regular and S-C Island/Swamp.
As the premier north 100 viewer in the format I would like to say thank you for having me, it’s great to be here

As the premier north 100 in the format I would like thank you for it's great me, having to be here
I am having a stroke
@@LoonyLucyRM Well you are the premier stroke haver in the format I hope you're at least happy to be here.
As the north 100 premier, thanks for having me it’s great to be here.
Already cracking me up. "he has land, land, embercleave, and you're LAUGHING!"
Already appreciate the achievement unlocks appearing Ben!
I, personally, think Serge was being very kind telling you not to shuffle too much.
i appreciate the dynamic ben on tech gets in this series, its uniquely different than the table friend and he also gets to pop up achivements

I feel like that's often what happens with Serge, his kindness ends up looking like accidental BM lol.
I do the same thing as Serge in Canlander all the time, shuffling twice is more annoying than shuffling once to me.
At 1:49 "What is the last thing you ever want to see me play turn one?" and my first thought was "Why does Serge insist on playing Hovermyr?"
when Wheeler said at 34:53 "kari zev is dead, the monkey will not show up", i was PRAYING for serge to rip ragavan off the top
Reminds me of a prerelease i did of ONE where we got Kari Zev and baral and had to use a real ragavan as the token
It's quite funny to watch as Serge wins his first match in months and immediately pivots to being a sassy boy.
I love this, at 26:00 serge could have pump esper sentinel in response to dark ritual to draw a card. Esper sentinel check for the X cost to pay at resolution.

I'd love to see an episode where you play a mirror match.
26:38 Sassy Savage Serge was a very great moment
I love when Ben pipes in from off camera!
I love Serge's cheekiness in these games. Keep on him Serge.
Thanks for hereing me, its great to be have
Never played Canadian highlander, probably never will, but still love watching these boys jam some powerful magic.
I cannot believe you both brought druids! Such a great deck tier -1 at least
So glad to see Boros equipment again. Best archetype in any format!
Thank you for being here, it was great to have you.
"do you think it's funny that wheeler inquisitioned and saw Land, Land, Embercleave?" i do, and i'm tired of pretending it's not
oh the iconic marsh flat swap!!! it's was being foreshadowed for so many episodes now
I am once again asking for a Wheeler tutorial on shuffling 100 card double sleeved decks. he looks so snazzy while doing it
This was a great episode, and I loved the achievements!
the chemistry of these two boys makes this series my absolute favourite on the channel, nay, the website, nay, the world of magic
Loving this new Serge arc
Thanks for having me, it's great to be here.
Love to see my girl Kemba putting in work. Amazing run as always, gents.
love the vibes here, really shows how magic should be played. both players just wanting to have a good game and working together to find the best lines
Formally requesting an appearance of dredge. Heckin love that deck
1 hour, 5 great games. Thanks for the video!
Never played CanLander, absolutely love these games/this series
Quite the epic throwdown with nail biting conclusion
Ben doing Hazoret's work out here with the Edita. Loving the content. Feeling all kinds of engaged.
So what you're telling me is that Canadian Highlander deck archetype names are like LaCroix names, where it SAYS 'Raspberry' but it's really 'A single raspberry was in the next room over when this was canned'.
Absolutely glorious!
Please, more best of fives.
WOW. It took Serge winning two games for it to become a best of five. Strange...
Love the format, love the series, love the bois. This is great.
What a terrific series. Great watch 🙌
Ben’s laugh in the background. Chefs kiss
I sympathize with the whole "Goblin Shaman tokens are a bitch to find".
So I printed one off on 110lb cardstock to function as my token. :D
Snerge is coming out tonight
56:33 The tainted pact should have finished resolving right here.
Ben hit a second swamp.
55:41 was first swamp
The 55:41 was a snow-covered swamp and 56:33 was a swamp, so tainted pact was resolved properly
I didn't catch it was snow-covered, that makes sense. I was wondering why he put 2 of the same basic with tainted pact in.
I've really fallen off mtg in the past year or two and unsubscribed most content creators related to magic but your show is still one of my personal content highlights in the mtg space!
Insane games…. Congrats on the capture!
Probably my favorite magic RUclips show to watch up there with the pre pre release. And I don't even play highlander!
This was a great one, the first win was bonkers.
I love Ben popping off in the background.
51:19 i think serge missed 2 damage here which was ironic considering the following turns. Bolting on declared blockers before damage allows the creature to trample 2 over on that first strike damage as well.
Not that it matters a huge deal but just found it interesting
Didn’t wheeler shoe two swamps on that tainted pact? Or was one of them snow covered?
One was snow covered
3 minutes in and id like to give a shoutout to keeping the xbox gamer achievements bit going, its one of my favorites
Another fantastic series!
Good Highlander guys.
Love it, loking forward for more
This series in the best magic content
I like both decks, and I will not shut up! I'm gonna leave a comment!
Serge is the kindest person to accidentally be a monster and I love it
Oh my god that Path play
Thanks for being great, is me here to have it.
0:36 you all are so worth it!
Best of 5 is so rad, still waiting for the first ever Best of 1 where Wheeler plays Mono W ruin Serge/Nelson's evening
lol, nearly every card Serge played game one could be considered "A messed up card".
I could watch reanimate decks all day
Good to see Serge winning games again.
5:39 his paws wide
Love this series!
Beautiful series.
ragavan is an ancient tomb that make your opponent take the 2
only best of 5 from now on or we riot!
Spicy games gentlemen.
Can’t believe we saw Monke (or his human) every game
who chose the puppy to be the representation of rw equipment
As an American, I find the Canadians very relaxing.
What if I *do* like that you're playing these decks again though?
North 100 engagement is engaging!
26:00 Question: Is there value in Serge using a Jitte counter in response; giving Esper Sentinel +2/+2 and making the potential tax 3 mana instead?
I just checked this after this moment the x value is check when resolving the ability so yes he could
@Sergio de la torre I was more wondering if that would be a good move. If he did, Wheeler most likely not pay the tax; meaning that he would save that one mana while Serge would get to draw a card.
A good deal, to be sure. But, not sure if it would be worth the Jitte counter.
@@ellaser93 I would do it for sure a card draw trying to find another removal in this match up seems great
I wonder in that first game if Ben should've reanimated on Serge's turn. What a series
Great stuff!!
Any suggestions for updates? I feel like bowmaster goes in, anything else?
I'm surprised that in game 1 Ben didn't reanimate Griselbrand as a surprise blocker. He would have survived and killed Kemba or a karnstruct that way.
Yes! North 100!
Love this show !!!!!
As someone who favors playing big dumb mono green, I have a deep seated loathing for Iona.
these are really fun games! Hope Ben get "turn one monkey"d every other episode!
Serge, do you think Chivalric Alliance has any viability in the deck you played?
Human Resources Giger will be the next big LRR character, I can smell it
”what would you least want to see me play turn one?”
Land, mox, hover myr?
27:00 Oh, none of that was unintentional
56:36 tainted pact stops at swamp 2
The first one was Snow-Covered Swamp. Wheeler's deck doesn't play any duplicates which is why he wasn't watching out for it as a possibility; it only plays 4 basics, which are regular and S-C Island/Swamp.
@@Willd2p2 good catch! ,
(i noticed this afterwards and left the comment so there is more engagement)
If I do like it do I still have to shut up?
17:15 why not Dash out monkey here?
Damn what good games.
I really loke this BO5 format more!
Never played with Tainted Pact before but I thought I saw Wheeler flip two Swamps before hitting Shallow Grave. Wouldn't that end the search?
It should’ve done, yea
One of the swamps was a Snow-Covered Swamp, thus having a different name, Tainted Pact was correctly resolved
To be fair, its quite hard to see, but check 55:41, that's when the Snow-Covered Swamp is played
@@Kal8Eth that makes more sense
Honestly, seeing you all play the same decks a couple times is interesting. Especially if you go tweak anything.
New pin: "We spend it all on duals..."
