    Steve, by reducing the whole process to the simplest version of each step, you have done a super service to many who watch. Those kits are so basic, they leave much out, and by combining pieces, the whole usually doesn't come together
    as well as you have demonstrated. Good work and high fives. You did not mention the cost of the materials. That would have been helpful.

    This is not bad at all for your first attempt, especially with stock foam latex appliances and cream makeup.
    This works a lot better with silicone appliances and using alcohol activated makeups.
    And making flat molds for these appliances without a life cast is not as hard. We use cling film that we wrap around the area and draw out the shapes of the for head, cheeks. And we then transfer those flattened shapes to our modeling boards. Then you can model your own anatomy closer.
    And since silicone is translucent it’s also easier to colour. And a gel 10 with some deadener also flexed like skin. So it won’t come off as easily. And then cap plastic (baldiez) that encapsulates the silicone prosthetic, also helps to blend it more to your own face.
    But this what you’ve done with these relatively beginner tools is amazing!!!

    personally the final effect looked a bit too "dirty" though it did look better in the lighting used in the morph effect. Assuming I had the budget and time for it what I'd do is use a wig, fake eye brows and a fake beard to limit the areas need to be made up, also it could help hide mistakes in the make up process, also a wig would look more natural, hair coloring like that easily looks like hair coloring especially if you got somewhat darker hair like I do.

    Instead of latex, it could have all been done with graphics.

    • @aus_liam444

      That's not as fun Paul, besides if you can achieve an effect for real then do it practically, CGI is so over used nowadays

    are these prosthetics reusable? or one time use only?.... nevermind watched the whole video. thanks

    • @SteveRamsdenYoutube
      @SteveRamsdenYoutube  3 года назад +1

      I think they can be reused about 3-4 times, but it probably depends how well you are able to remove them afterwards and keep them in good condition. Mine were covered in liquid latex though and I think it would look more like a horror effect if I reused them a second time haha!

    • @lolyfe7562
      @lolyfe7562 3 года назад

      @@SteveRamsdenRUclips If they are foam latex they are not meant to be reused (despite what the seller will tell you ;3) because you can never get the edges to lay as clean and flat again. And the pros aide remover will make the foam latex porous and blue lol.
      .. That being said ive definitely reused them more than once in a pinch. Simply stacked on pros aide cream like crazy- the poor actor’s face really suffered during removal xD.

    • @SteveRamsdenYoutube

      @@lolyfe7562 Very interesting - yes it definitely looks like it wouldn't look the same if I were to try and put it all on a second time!
