This video is 10yrs old, & still the most helpful, straightforward, & easiest tutorial I’ve found. Just know that in 2022, you’re still saving cosplays!💖
Thank you so much 😀 I'm so glad it's still helpful 😊
@@WinterRose84 One question. One of my actors in my horror film is South Asian with tanner, more brown skin tone. What type of Latex should I use?
@andrewkomaniecki480 you can get tinted liquid latex in different skin tones. Not many but it can still help. They also offer clear too, just make sure you use a good foundation to cover it. Mehron make some good options for clear or tinted liquid latex.
@@WinterRose84 When you say "tinted latex", you mean "light flesh?" Is that a good option? Andrew K.
@andrewkomaniecki480 light flesh is the pink light colour, they also have deep or dark flesh, and clear.
Yes agreed with comment below. I have gone back to this video for 3 years now. It definitely deserves more love than what it's gotten. Thank you for your tutorial! This is brilliant

love this tutorial!! needed to find a way to make make fake scars and wounds for my sister's Halloween costume. I give it a big thumbs up
when you apply the latex, make sure you apply it thinly to the edges so when you apply it to the skin, it blends in better.you can also a hairdryer to dry the latex in between each of the layers :)

YOUR AWESOME... Just want i was looking for. subscribing now THANKS!!
Great video.
a few years late but this was great. thanks sheila
never too late
Latex is what your typical halloween mask is made of, so heat doesn't really have an effect on the prosthetic itself. However, it's important to use either spirit gum, or simply more liquid latex, to adhere it to your skin. Be sure to apply to a very clean, dry section of skin and allow it to set completely before applying whatever paint you may be using. Also, it's very important to cover hair (eyebrows, hairlines, etc.) with petroleum jelly, or even a glue stick, because latex will rip it out
@Makeupgenic Thanks. I got it from IMATS and it was $15. You can buy it online or from some makeup/special FX/costumes stores.
So useful, thank you 😊
Thank you 😊
Thanks this helped a lot
Oh and awesome vid btw :)
Hi. Great Tutorial! Really awesome. Much better then slopping the liquid latex straight onto the skin! Once you've made the mold though, how do you actually apply/stick it to the skin?
Thanks though! Great Tutorial!
This is awesome, thank you so much for this video! I am planning on doing a photoshoot with my kids as zombies and this is perfect tutorial to make the sfx!
SFX is S(ound)FX
You’re looking for V(isual)FX
@@HyBrandt in the realm of makeup SFX refers to Special Effects makeup. That's when you use "special" techniques above and beyond regular makeup applications.
Oh, then I’M thinking the wrong thing lol 😂
I’m in music
