OMFG that windows setting hidding filenames really pissed me off. I had WoW.exe.exe, no wonder it wouldnt work
I am getting a critical error now every time i try to open WoW, what could I be doing wrong? I have tried putting WoW in different folders on different drives.

What kind of FPS are you getting? With a bunch of addons installed, I'm getting from anywhere between 80 to 140.
@@F_Yale I'm running on 5800X3D and a 1080ti @WQHD nearly everywhere in the open world 120fps capped.
In SW bank district it's around 40-50fps.
In AV 70-80fps.
BUT I'm also using the HD patch.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also playing in a private server, but do not trust ppl.

After being watched the whole video I've got the only one question left:
Why not to distribute the game directly from the Downloads page with all these (or most of essential) tweaks already included and applied? And of course with the only main shortcut file (for instance to VanillaFixes) as TurtleWow launcher, that could be just copied to desktop?
To my mind even for experienced pc users all these setups (download, copy-paste, different folders-extensions, a file-by-file) are quite long and complicated just to start the game. Guess all this stuff just prevents the server's popularity as it could be (much bigger).
The only thing that people need is just to push the button and start the game just like a retail.
Some people like to modify their own programs instead of having someone else do it. If you download the files and start the game it works. That’s what most people want.
If you use pfui you do not need shagu tweaks as they will conflict with each other. Pfui already includes tweaks from shagu tweaks.

Before extracting the zip file, go to properties and unblock it. I did that and Defender never complained.

Thanks for video! I downloaded vanilla fixes and i see a performance boost. However, i can no longer used "windowed" mode. Additionally, and much more concerning, whenever i close the game/ tab out, my monitor is then stuck in a permanent dimmed mode (brightness). This is only fixed when i restart my PC, and always happens again after relaunching.
First, try the other non-dxvk version of VanillaFixes, and make sure to remove all 4 files you moved over first, that should at least help the monitor dimming issue. If you're still having the windowed mode issue, in your Turtle WoW folder go in the WTF folder and edit Config.wtf with a text editor. Make sure you have these 2 lines:
SET gxWindow "1"
SET gxMaximize "1"
And you can change the gxMaximize 1 to 0 to have a regular floating window instead of borderless-fullscreen.
I have dual monitors. Whenever I click out of my main monitor where the game is to click something on my browser, it goes black for a second and reappears.. kinda annoying

Although it's not a big issue for me personally, I still agree and think the population on private servers would greatly increase if a more simple download/installation would be available.

I normally play with Proxxy server on 1.12.1 using blizzards version. But aint working on turtle wow so this is so good!!

Anyone else has laggy animations when attacking, the skill animation work 1/3 of the time its weird ?
My issue is whenever try to move the extracted tweaks files into the turtle wow directory, my anti virus deletes the tweaks launcher every time, even if i disable real time anti virus, once it comes back on automatically later, it will find it and delete it from my directory, every time. ive extracted the file multiple times and its the same result.

At this particular moment, I only have VanillaFixes (VF) and Vanilla-Tweaks installed as per instructed in TurtleWiki and this video. My text and mouse cursor are smaller when VF loads compared to when just WoW.exe (tweaked) loads.. is that normal?

Unfortunately, there's no native mac support. For m1 mac, you need to use the paid app Parallels to run it. For intel mac, you can use wineskin.

both these downloads are flagged as trojens by my windows defender.
I did it all but it just says disconnected from server when I use the tweaks
I re-enable my virus protection after installing and I can't launch the game it just detects a virus and deletes vanilla fixes entirely. Surely you can't be expected to have your antivirus switched off at all times whilst playing?
When I drag the vanilla tweks exe on top of the WoW.exe it just opens WoW. Doesnt create a new exe

Yes, there's a Turtle HD mod, it's still being actively developed so there may be bugs:

after i did all the setups the game still runs not as smooth as i hoped it would. mouse movement is still kinda slow and woolly and the build up in the castbar stutters and overall small delays while selling scrap or talking to NPCs. any ideas? thanks for the great video!

first step works and wow loads, when using Vanilla fixes, although when i drag, Wow.exe onto vanilla tweaks, it does not create a WoW_tweaked, nothing happens thanks.
any idea why do i get WoW.exe no found when i try to run VanillaFixes even when i renamed everything and the files was extraxted to the main foldier?
One more tip that helped me remove mouse delay, enable hardware cursor.
Does that make mousing more crisp?

I did this guide excactly as you said but after i have done the step with Vanilla Tweaked, now i cant open the game from Vanilla Fixes icon. ''wow.exe not found extract vanilla fixes into the game directory''. Eventho i did as you told and renamed one of the files to wow.exe. Help me pls ! :D
Edit: Ok i didnt have file/name extensions enabled so i named the file .exe .exe by misstake ! I should have read the top comment here.

Thanx for the video was very helpfull, my issue i had with resoultion was solved by unplugging the other monitors and rebooting and relaunching game, if this helps anyone.
I am running turtle wow on the steam deck. I am not able to drag and drop the WoW.exe file onto the VanillaTweaks.exe file inside linux.

Is there a way to make 32:9 + 5120x1440 work without anything being stretched?
These fixes unfortunately didn't change it so far, max resolution remains 1600 x 1200.

Hello, I have done all the setup like in the video it helped to fix minor issues but i have alway stuttering in the game. I have a RX 6700XT and a ryzen 5 3600X and i don't know why i am having so much stuttering (FPS Capped at 90 FPS and game runing on a SSD) Do you know how to fix it ?
1. Make sure windowed mode is always enabled
2. Having more than one monitor can cause stuttering, try turning other monitors off
3. Try using the other dll file with Vanilla Fixes: dxvk or non-dxvk
Thank's, with your advices i have found a fix for the stuttering.
Step 1 : Change the game location where windows is installed (I mean in the same storage device)
Step 2 : Use D3D9 (DirectX9) instead of Vulkan
(DirectX9 install and d3d9.dll change / found on the Tutle WoW forum, the topic was "Low fps and I dont know why" if you need to find it)
The game have no more stuttering but you have less max FPS (From 260 with vulkan to 120 with D3D9)
Tips : Enable VSync for more stable FPS Locked at 90 FPS for me (With RivaTuner RTSS)

For some reason after doing the vanilla-tweaks one it made it so my WoWFoV client no longer has 16:9 aspect ratio as an option and I can't get it back, even deleted and re-downloaded Turtle WoW but the WoWFoV just isn't working... sadness
What addon works fine to display cc for rogues under target bar. Shagu tweaks "works" BUT its shows nonsense, for example u use cheap shot it shws 4 sec, after you attack and its shows 4 seconds again, its unplayable for rogues (despite everybody else is buffed HARD but rogues already lol).

my anti-virus deleted some while playing and now the vanillafixes game wont start. keeps saying wow exe not found.
EDIT just had rename wow-2.exe into wow.exe again and do the hole tweank all over.
Hello, I followed step by step as you did in the video and I have a minor problem. When there is a queue for wow and I log in, the number of people is not counted, what about that?
I’m not very computer literate and I have to say that I had trouble following what you were doing. You spoke clearly but the pace that you were clicking links and changing names of things back and forth was very confusing! I can get the game to work but not via the Vanilla Fixes icon. I’m not sure if I’ve done it correctly but auto loot works. 😢
I'm actually in the process of updating this guide with a new video and making it more clear. Sorry that you couldn't get VanillaFixes working, but as long as your game runs well it's not really necessary.

One shouldn’t have to download from multiple sources and disable their PC security to get it to run. :(
Its a normal thing for ppl to do stuff to quickly while guiding someone who is not as experienced, i do it when i show my parents. Should probably slow down about 50% to make it easier to follow.
@@Salubrious388the great thing about RUclips is you can literally slow down the playback speed of any video, and at the very least you can pause it after each step to help keep up with the instruction.

The Vanillatweak gets flagged as a trojan after install
Unfortunately, vanilla fixes crashes my game instantly: fatal error 132. It happens after a few seconds after I open the game.
The fov file never has the proper resolution and it still doesn’t change when I do it manually. Has any one had this problem ?

Please help!!! ive been having this issue where im playing with my friend and lets say every 3-5 minutes ill just be randomly disconnected from the server and have to constantly relog in.
