- I really loved this stage whenever I played with Sagat in SFA2, especially since it echoes the scene in the Street Fighter 2 Anime Movie at the bginning where both fighters face off before the title. TIGER!
Ryu's rivalry with Ken is pure, wholesome and all in good fun.
Ryu's rivalry with Akuma is torturous, bitter and resentful.
But it's Ryu's rivalry with Sagat that's really something special. Because of Sagat's constant drive to improve himself for no other reason other than to just be better, I feel like he is one of the very few street fighters who understands Ryu on a level unlike any other. I honestly think it's my favorite rivalry in all of SF really. It's always magical whenever the wandering warrior and the king of muay thai face off. :')
IIRC, didn't M. Bison take advantage of Sagat's rivalry with Ryu to recruit him into Shadaloo? Like he basically used Sagat as a means to get to Ryu. Thats how I felt with him in SFA3 at least.

@@ryuhoshi9381I can confirm as an Australian that we do have very violent lightning storms mainly I n the outback and the grassy plains. Even in our cities and suburbs that’s prone to getting lightning strikes hitting powerlines frequently
I love how this sets up Sagat learning Tiger Uppercut by SFII and replacing Tiger Blow, really nice touch considering Alpha comes before II.
Great observation, I love when games do small things in the continuity like this.

Honestly, I think Sagat and Ken are Ryu's true rivals in the right direction. Ken is like the ultimate training partner, whereas sagat is the ultimate test. Sagat is literally the strongest ryu faced that didn't use any psycho power or the Satsui no hadou. All three of them, win or loss, keep improving. They even overcome the stresses of power, revenge, sadness, evil in there journey. Its just about the fight. They don't want powers, no hatred, no trophies, no shortcuts. Its only been about the fight with these three in the end.
Ken is stronger in a sense. Have u watched the live action sf film? Not the Jvcd film. Its on RUclips. Assassin fists it's called.
This stage is just EPIC! And we must thank the animated movie for the inspiration behind it.

The build up and the stage and music. All works. Great memories.
Basically the climactic fight where YOU get to play as the boss, and the CPU gets to show how technical the Protagonist can get.

My God, this had to be the hardest version of Ryu ever. The only way I could beat him was by keeping him away from me and spamming tiger shots.
