I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I've ran health clubs nightclubs and strip clubs for the last 30 years and I was their private security to say the least. There's nothing like a good song to get you in the mood for a fight. Certain songs and night clubs they were always fights right afterwards!! Well there was bras or tuffles whatever you want to call them they weren't really fights compared to what somebody like me and my crew were used to. Drunk people that have never trained for fighting it anyway or form are never even a challenge to somebody that's ready for it used to it. Now you take that gorilla on it New Orleans it was 400 lb of 7 ft tall and special forces that was in a fight either it was a draw because if I didn't jump on his back and put them in a headlock or sleeper hold his ass would have eaten me for breakfast. I have never seen a human be able to move like that in my life there was that size. I'm extremely good at what I do I've been doing it for over 30 years and this guy the only reason I'm still alive is cuz he let me stay alive!!
This is one of the best soundtracks ever, starts slow and sets the atmosphere immediately, progressively builds up to the climax perfectly. And the scene itself of course, brilliant, Sagat's frantic roars as he rushes Ryu like a wild beast and Ryu howling with the power surge as he fires that hadoken. This was pretty much religious stuff for me as a kid.
This is the best animated piece Capcom has out there. I wish they could continue with this grounded approach and give us more animated street fighter content.
1:56 that block followed by a 1-2 and a spinning back kick is such a classic Andy Hug counter (Hug tornado), who choreographed the fights in this movie.
I have not been massively into anime but the moment that Ryu launches at textbook hadouken, at a screaming, bleeding, running and deranged-looking Sagat might just be the most powerful moment I have ever seen in the entire Street Fighter universe. For sheer intensity, the only moment that comes close is when Ken Masters launches into a Hadou-Shoryu-ken to break through a skylight in Street Fighter V: Victory. The intensity is so great, it might as well shatter your TV screen! Also the most kick-ass rock soundtrack to an anime of all time. This may still be, all these years later, pound-for-pound, the best video game adaptation of all time. Also, the quotes, the quotes 'Any man, strong enough to kick the crap out of Sagat, IS A MAN I WANT FOUND!'
This is the reason why I became a sensei. Ryu was my inspiration to my career. This film changed my outlook on martial arts. Whoever made this film should have made more street fighters! This was one of the best Anime films of all time!
One of the rare instances in anime where the english dub is undeniably way better than the original Japanese version. The soundtrack in this is just killer
Oh my god, i just realized that his shoryuken was actually a shin-shoryuken. He flexes his right arm but for the first hit he turns his Body to the right to land a short Uppercut with his left fist and than he performs the shoryuken with right. it also Sounds like he hit him twice
You are correct, Metsu has it's main hit performed right handed. Shin is performed left handed. Also the Metsu makes perfect sense as in SF1 Ryu wanted to win at any cost and briefly became Evil Ryu (overcome by the Satsui no hado) to perform the move, the more destructive one just makes sense thematically.
jokes stupid since its been proven by the creator of DB that power levels meant nothing and youtube channel screw attack pointed out its a joke the creator put into the cartoon, and probably made worse when translated to english
@@snakepliskin23 Beat me to it. Yeah he'd flatten any of the fighters up to the end of Raditz' presence in the series Probably be a match for Nappa even
Awesome opening, has a very dark and foreboding energy about it. Love the details like how they made Sagat's chest scar a parting gift from Ryu's shoryuken/dragon punch. Pretty sick detail! >:]
Extreme youth sentiment for me… I can still feel waves of emotions and goose bumps as I watch this 30 years later… just as I did back then. Such a great and powerfull scene… perfect soundtrack, build up and climax!
4:35 You can Feel the anger of the God of Muay Thai he refuse to lose against Ryu and it's badass how Ryu remain calm like a Master when a Monster like Sagat are in mode Berseker coming to him.
I grew up during this era as a kid playing Street Fighter II in the arcade and on Super Nintendo and Playstation. I saw this movie when it was new on VHS. There were like three different versions of this movie. One was the original Japanese uncut movie with a Japanese music score. The other was the censored English dub with an English music score and soundtrack. The third version was the best version in my opinion, the uncut English dub with an English music score and soundtrack. This was the illest movie I have seen at that time. Pure Classic.
Crazy how epic the animation was in this entire film. It's actually insane to think something from the 90s is this good that animation today have never been able to come close. No idea what it is but these days they've just lost that detailed effort aswell as storytelling.
This background was put into Alpha 2 as a secret. Also the dramatic battle mode (Ken and Ryu VS Bison) in Alpha 1 was a reference to the movie. The whole Alpha series was basically made because the anime movie was so damn good lol
Manly as fuck. When we were kids we had beast ass shit like this to watch while growing up. Masculine shows with strong men fighting eachother like street fighter and dragon ball z. Now wtf is there for boys to grow up with? iCarly?
Greatest start to a film ever, still get goosebumps like twenty years later
I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I've ran health clubs nightclubs and strip clubs for the last 30 years and I was their private security to say the least. Same, still get chills go right through me at the end of this scene 🪿🪿🪿👊👊👊
This one scene sets the tone for the entire of the movie
This is one of the best soundtracks ever, starts slow and sets the atmosphere immediately, progressively builds up to the climax perfectly. And the scene itself of course, brilliant, Sagat's frantic roars as he rushes Ryu like a wild beast and Ryu howling with the power surge as he fires that hadoken. just re read what you commented and understand how that could sound... well... you know
Zack Brownell HAHAHAHAHA!!!! OMG how did I not see that!? XD Fuckin priceless!
+Just Plain Roastbeef XD
Yes you used the right words. Its so epic this scene.
The three treasures indeed
This is the best animated piece Capcom has out there. I wish they could continue with this grounded approach and give us more animated street fighter content.
akumous Night Warriors is better imo but this is close.
2V was good enough of a follow up
Street Fighter II V
Someday... Someday
THE BEST STREET FIGHTER MOVIE EVER!!!.
1:39 Ryu: at last we have a Challenge to the Fight!
Damn right
Probably one of the best fight scenes and movie openers ever also.
1992 it was just a movie, in 2021. its a legend, and it will never change that way
The best video game based licensed movie ever!!
I've always said this back in the 90s when I was a teen and I'm saying it in 2020.
This is THE best Hadouken EVER
The best anime fight ever. The thunderstorm in the background in some remote place as two of the best fighters in the world slug it out.
The music. It adds everything to this scene. Still watch it over and over. 🔥🔥
My favorite parts in this fight are the soundtrack, the electricity channeling around Ryu when he powers up his Haoduken, and the epic ending.
You can tell which music it is?
You can tell which music it is?
You can tell which music it is?
You can tell which music it is?
That music is damn good.
1:56 that block followed by a 1-2 and a spinning back kick is such a classic Andy Hug counter (Hug tornado), who choreographed the fights in this movie.
still the cleanest and coolest depictions of the shoryuken and hadoukens in all media
This opening scene had me out of my seat as a teenager and was saying to myself this is the best thing I've ever seen 😂
Watching this now recently it topped all other anime
This is one of the few animes that has good dub and sub voices. Capcom really did a good job in the background music.
Exactly and it's really the only anime I prefer everything over the Japanese version
I have not been massively into anime but the moment that Ryu launches at textbook hadouken, at a screaming, bleeding, running and deranged-looking Sagat might just be the most powerful moment I have ever seen in the entire Street Fighter universe. chills to this day
Wow...I just realized many years latter Ryu charging and launching his hadoken is the introduction on Super Street Fighter 2 lol
Archaon The Everchosen: Me too! I can't believe I didn't notice that before.
Morgoth Bauglir That’s what made this movie so bad ass. Awesome animation and it payed homage to the original content. It bought the game to LIFE!!
Yeah, the movie clearly took a lot of references and inspiration from the games. And the movie in turn inspired the next game release.
One of the rare instances in anime where the english dub is undeniably way better than the original Japanese version. The soundtrack in this is just killer
So badass. I feel privileged knowing about this movie including the suspenseful opening.
easily the most epic and best video game movie ever. fucking epic film this was,
This opening is still better than most movies now a days
Oh my god, i just realized that his shoryuken was actually a shin-shoryuken. He flexes his right arm but for the first hit he turns his Body to the right to land a short Uppercut with his left fist and than he performs the shoryuken with right. it also Sounds like he hit him twice
iori1303 Shit dude you're right 🤤😨
woah. i didnt think this could get more epic than it was. but u made it that. thank u
Sir.. you are a hero....
Nope it's the Metsu Shoryuken (Destroying Rising Dragon Fist). Ryu didn't learn the Shin Shoryuken until Gouken taught it to him in Street Fighter 3.
Behold the first wake up shoryuken
Despite being fictional characters, Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, and Goku influence my real training. Especially Akuma's backstory.
I watched this movie so many times as a kid. It still holds up well.
This intro used to get me pumped 🔥 them electric riffs 🎸 ⚡️
I got this movie on vhs
Sell it online and you will get plenty lol
It's over 9 thou---- Oh nvm, it's only 3620, we're fine.
nicely done
@Roque El Rompe-rocas Even more so now when he enters Muno Ken...where he goes past even his evil ryu phase
Lol still!! Ryu is tougher than raditz Goku and piccolo
jokes stupid since its been proven by the creator of DB that power levels meant nothing and youtube channel screw attack pointed out its a joke the creator put into the cartoon, and probably made worse when translated to english
@@snakepliskin23 Beat me to it. Yeah he'd flatten any of the fighters up to the end of Raditz' presence in the series

goosebumps 4:38
+Mario Vasquez BRUH THAT PART IS JUST SO SICK!!!!!
Mario Vasquez HAAAOOOOOHHH!!!
FUCK YEAH!!!
Every dam time.
from 4:35 and onwards gave me chills down my spine
Awesome opening, has a very dark and foreboding energy about it.
Love the details like how they made Sagat's chest scar a parting gift from Ryu's shoryuken/dragon punch. Pretty sick detail! >:]

They're finally paying tribute to the legacy of this scene after over 20 years by putting it into SF5 as a stage, just like in Alpha 2.
I wish in the movie Bison would of said, " his power level is over 9000!"
Haaooooooooo!!!!!
CAPCOM SHOULD REALLY MAKE A DEFINITE ANIME SEQUEL WITH THE SAME ART STYLE AND MUSIC... and not no corny shit either just keep it dark and gritty
I don’t think people realize sagat got a scar from an uppercut to the body...lethal 😮😮
Massive props to Peter Spellos for his AWESOME and BADASS Sagat. This opening wouldn't have been what it is without you.
Greatest Hadoken of all time
This is one of the greatest films of all time, not greatest anime or animated. It’s fucking excellent
Best opening to a movie ever
I grew up during this era as a kid playing Street Fighter II in the arcade and on Super Nintendo and Playstation. I saw this movie when it was new on VHS. They don't make animes like this anymore
One of the greatest animated movie’s ever but everyone knows this.
One of the greatest film openings ever.😎💚👊🔥
Crazy how epic the animation was in this entire film.
It's actually insane to think something from the 90s is this good that animation today have never been able to come close.

Hardest anime intro ever!
i grew up on these movies as a kid....i remember vividly how BAD ASS this scene was as a child.
Ryu: Wake up DP
Also Ryu: Don't jump
@3:36 I dunno why it took until now for me to realize what move Sagat doing in slow motion? Its an "Elbow Drop" from the sky right?
20 ans aprés... je l'ai vu 100 fois et j'ai encore des frissons...
the best opening scene EVER
To bad in the game(s) when you play with Ryu and get to Sagat, this didn't play in the background.
This background was put into Alpha 2 as a secret.
Also the dramatic battle mode (Ken and Ryu VS Bison) in Alpha 1 was a reference to the movie.
The whole Alpha series was basically made because the anime movie was so damn good lol
3:40 sagat's ketchup sachet for his dinner exploded!!lol
Greatest openings
Saw this movie first when i saw 14 now I'm 33 but this fight still gets me going...
4:48.
"Power level 3,620!?!? But he's only a human! *That's impossible!"*
- Raditz, probably.
1:57, when ryu misses the wheel kick and the beat drops.. Also this fight would be good if it was directed like the 300 movies.
Ryu punched on with an opponent twice his size. And WON. He is fierce. 👊😊
And this is how Ryu became the champion beating Sagat !
4:03 (Thunder Clashing)
And that, children, is how you started an anime movie back in the 90s.
3:35 Wakeup dp typical Ryu scrub
Can I say that this is one of my favorite movies ever?
The Tiger vs. The Dragon
Best rivalry in the history of gaming
Y'all know when you first that electricity around his body you started getting hyped 😎
This movie has a dope soundtrack too
BEST OST that I ever heard!!!
My awesome childhood right here
Manly as fuck. When we were kids we had beast ass shit like this to watch while growing up. Masculine shows with strong men fighting eachother like street fighter and dragon ball z. Now wtf is there for boys to grow up with? iCarly?
Chills start at 4:24 as the first lightning bulps start to flash up
Love this movie
If anyone has seen Red Hawk:Weapon of death, one of the fight scene is Exactly the same as this one. Not sure which came first
Red Hawk was released a year later after this
1:39 Ryu: At Last We Will Have Challenges Revenge!
1:40 (Thunder Clashing)⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈
How on EARTH could you upload this WITHOUT the final shot?! Without the actual Hadoken?!?!?!??!
2022 and i still hear people complaining their isnt a good video game to movie adaptation. like come on!
4:36 min. So epic awesoness. Ryu: hooowwwww!
4:14 (Thunder Clapping)
This was my introduction to japanese media. il never forget the feeling
The Japanese version on VCR kicks ass.
The 31 people who unliked this epic video should go and watch panorama!
not many things more epic than this here
imagine seeing this in the cinema for the first time.
What do you see beyond your FIST? ❤️
On a side note I've been looking for some epic metal cover of this track, would be so fuckin awesome.
Just Plain Roastbeef
Been looking for the Ryu and Ken vs bison scene music . But I don't think it's on the soundtrack.
Best of all, no stupid CG to go along with it, anime done the right way, "ALL" hand drawn.
2019 and still the SHIT 👍
Marked my childhood feels the same
come oooon, why didn't you allow the "street fighter II logo to display. it was epic
Hadouken is a conceptual variation from the megido tech.
Damn that haodoken was badass
sagot yelling in 4:28 is what made this scene for me.
4:37
It's exactly how.. Street Fighter #1.. the one and only should've ended..
Tournament for the strongest fighter in the world finale and the only audience/ media coverage is a cyborg spy.
That’s how saget got his scar? Interesting 3:38
Un clásico ya cuántos años pero es una excelente película animada
My life 😇
What a intro, however who ever posted this, shouldn't have recorded it using a potato
And that's where Sagat's scar came from
Kaioken! Hadoken!!!
