Keep in mind...this was put together by COLLEGE students for a final project. College director, college production team, mostly college student actors, on their way to greater things, so judge warily. For what they had, they accomplished a great deal, especially the magic of the bridge; they had a tough time figuring that out.

I must say that my favorite part of this film was your interpretation of Death. Death is usually presented a tall, intimidating, cloaked man, and associated with the color black. However, you interpreted death as a young girl and associated her with the color white. I found this interpretation very interesting and original, which really made me love this film.

The invisibility cloak was in the Potter family so James probably was a Potter based on two things. First of all the grandad was a Peverral, but James could be a Potter if the grandad had a daughter who married a Potter. Then secondly he is likely a Potter as by a guess of the time setting based on the house, it is only decades (20-40 years depending if this is Harry's dad James)before Harry was born, so the cloak would be in the Potter family by then to be given to Dumbledore to give back on Harry.

      @julieluke1434 7 лет назад +9

Yes, it could have been. But, in this case, that's not a valid reason as to why this isn't James Potter. There was no relative named James close enough in James Potter's/Ignotus Peverell's family tree to have electricity and all that jazz but James Potter. In fact, James' own father was probably born sometime in the late eighteen hundreds either around when or just after the lightbulb had just been invented, making it virtually impossible for this to be anyone other than James Potter.

    • @HowItOughtToBe

+HowItOughtToBe Actually, they probably did. J.K. has stated that James' parents were very old to be having children, even by wizarding standards (wizards live longer than Muggles, you know), so it's probable that he was. We know he was born pre-1909, and to be old by wizarding standards you have to be ollllldddddd. Therefore, late 1800s.

That is impossible that the little boy is James Potter sr. because it is said that Voldemort and Harry Potter are distantly related through the Peverell family ( the three brothers). Then J.K. Rowling opened to the public that Ignotus Peverell was the youngest brother and he had a daughter, just one daughter and she married Hardwin Potter and the second brother Cadmus peverell's desendant is Marvolo Gaunt, father of Tom Riddle's jr, mother making Voldemort related to Harry. So my theory is that the little boys name was James Potter but not Harry Potter's dad but insted the son of Ignotus' daughter and Hardwin Potter

    • @lizzy7365

Okay. Reasons why it IS James Potter:
      1. It said To, James P in the journal
      2. The grandpa said James
      3. He had circular glasses
      4. Think about Harry. Who did the cloak belong to before him? His father. James. Guessing it was passed down. Obviously.
      5. And the silk bedding that he had. STRANGELY looked like the one that death gave the third brother. Also he KINDA became invisible at the end.
      (I'm pretty sure it's James)

The grandfather is definitely Henry Potter ,James s grandfather how ever he is also a mirror caracter for Ignatus , long story short , he was reading this story as he knew He was about to die ...and died without telling the end also when James learned the end of the story he imagined his grandfather greeting Death as an old friend the way Ignatus has done ! Or maybe as healders of the invisibility cloak are granted by death as a friend in honor of that one only man who managed to truly cheat on her for years and years , but still choose to grant her as his oldest friend in the end ! Beautiful story that of Ignatus and Death !

Or perhaps the grandfather is simply a metaphor for the third brother, as the entire family essentially is. It is clearly implied that this is James Potter. The grandfather could be Henry Potter and his leaving at the end could be a metaphor for what the third brother did, dying at old age and giving the cloak to the next generation.

For those people who hv doubt if the boy james potter or james peverell( as some people are confused about the chronology...thinking that if the grandpa was one of the original 3 brothers how could james potter be his grandson)...i have a theory.....
As we know that as the cloak was handed from to son through all generations we understand that harry was a descendant of the 3 brothers. N ow I think that curse of the three brothers did not end with them only....but kinda continued through generations of all the younger peverall brothers ( they may be not of the same mother as in harry's generations...because all wizards are somehow related to each other). The last peverell was a girl who married a potter...so the curse was now directed towards the generations of potter family so in every generation..3 brothers were chosen by the curse to die in the same way as the original 3 brothers died. So in this way we come down to the generation of that grandfather who had a similar fate along with his brothers and that grandfather himself was chosen by the curse to die in the same way as the youngest brother died( we know that he is talking about his own generations' curse as that ''book'' looked more like a diary)....so this proves that the boy was james potter...and has to deserve a similar fate like all the males in his family did..( and relations too cuz after peverall line the chosen brothers were dispersed across families due intermarriage of the ladies into otger families)...including his own grandpa and his own son( harry potter) ..who had to share the fate along with snape( middle brother) and voldemort( eldest brother)...so ofcourse james peverell (if he had existed)would have died in the same way ....but i dont find any james peverell in the peverall line....so this he does not exist after all....and thus clears the fact that the boy is only and only james pOtTer!!!
Note: as u see the story book is actually a diary in which either his written about his own sufferings by the curse or perhaps the diary is of the original youngest peverall brother's possessions and has been passed down through generations like a second family heirloom like the invisibility cloak)...we know that james potter was then currently possessing the invisibility cloak as one of the blankets( that white one)was actually the white invisibility cloak it self....that is the reason why the grandpa told james to stay under the blankets as by doing so ...he will be covered by the invisibility cloak and death ...who had then come to that house to take away that grandpa would not be able to see or harm james.
Now....for those people who thought that why death was banging on that door when that grandpa wanted to ''greet death like an old friend ''..
....the thing is as that grandpa was himself staying under the cloak...death was searching for him too....finally on that day when he decided to tell this last story he might have taken it off and put them along with the blankets on james bed.So he let death find him that day...as he had no more wish to live anymore and finally agreed on telling the story(as u know he thought that there might not be any time left to tell the story to james the nextday( he was earlier insisting on doing so as it had been ''well past bedtime'')). So when death finally saw him she banged the door and was in a hurry so as to not let the man escape anymore. So perhaps after opening the door he would have shown that he was eager to leave the world...and death would have calmed down...thus greeting her ''like an old friend ''. Perhaps it was death's anger due to which he told james to stay under the blankets...afraid that she might even take him.
    Thankyou guys for the patience!:)

@@umraatirkhan7339 well as the video itself was said to be made as some project ( i dk correctly) it is not related to the original book. Thats y many people were hving trouble relating this video to the original theories of harry potter series itself. My explanation is about what the story in this particular video is about. Of course not jkr's or any other fanon theories found on internet:)

That was the best fan made video of Harry potter I've ever seen . Like brilliant absolutely brilliant I've always wondered if there was more to it about the brothers, how the cloak got passed down to Harry . Good job guys . I like how you made death too , the grim reaper can take whatever form it desires.

    That is fun.
The effects are good, and so is the acting.
The 2nd brother's wedding photo moving especially brought it home that we were in the Potterverse.
Lmao "he went with Death gladly, as an old friend..." [Death literally knocking his door down while he's trying to tuck his grandson in]
