This is my favorite way of sewing on the binding for my Quilts. Simple and to the point:) lol See how to make the binding here • How To Make Quilt Binding
I was JUST thinking that. I came to find one of Lauras videos to destress me before bed as I have been spending too much time on my phone watching updates. xx
Great tips on binding a quilt!!! Laura answered questions I didn't know I had! Her sewing techniques are so spot on and make a difficult situation so much simpler. She is a master at her craft!!! Thanks so much, Laura, for sharing your knowledge with us! You're the best!!!!
I almost didn't watch this video because "I already know how to bind a quilt!" I'm sew glad I did!!!!. The extra tips you gave - especially about offsetting the angles at the corner, were things I hadn't done or known before. It's never too late to teach a mature dog new tricks. Many thanks for another great video. :)
Mary Anne Cadd You said it Mary Anne. Being a self taught quilter from eons ago, there are plenty of techniques that weren't around when I first started quilting. At that rate, there's always something new to learn.
I’m finishing my first quilt. Your instructions are clear, concise and easy. Thank you for speaking slowly and enunciating the directions perfectly. I wish everyone spoke so well on other videos.
Oh my goodness what an awesome way to join the binding, so much less complicated than the way I have been doing it. I will never do it the old old way again, how clever, thank you so much!!
I love putting on the binding, and I do mine just like you did. Stitching the binding is like putting a nice frame around a work of art--which is what a quilt is! Beautifully done, Laura.
you're never too old to learn new things. I am almost 78 and I've been sewing for years. I just tried this tip on a place mat and loved it. THANKS from a native Floridan. 7 more place mats to go
Brilliant! Love the way you attach the beginning and end of the binding. Much neater and more accurate than other methods I have used. Thanks sew much!
Thank you Laura, for explaining everything, so eloquently and taking your time so that we can understand every part of your wonderful video! We really appreciate it!
Binding the quilt is my favorite part of a project. Thank you for such great tips, Laura! You are so easy to listen to and follow. Thank you for your informative videos.
I love the way you join the ends . I received your book yesterday afternoon! Thank you so much for signing it. I watch your videos many times and your tips have helped me improve my quilting and sewing.
...hallo Laura, thank you for so usefull tipps of binding. I have learned sewing as an autodidact by myself and I`m so lucky about this demonstration of perfect and cleaning working, special for binding and difficult technics for sewing, thank you so much teaching me, an older woman from the North of Germany...😊💐
You've outdone yourself Laura! I have followed your previous binding video for countless bindings & this new tutorial is even better. Thank you so much 🧡
Thank you Laura, this tutorial was really instructional for me and gave me some much needed tips to make it easier and the quilt look much nicer following those tips!!! Thank you for all your videos 😊
Yes, I agree that your voice and presentation is so very soothing and gives me confidence. I watch many videos but always come back to Sew Very Easy. Thank you!
Thank so much Laura once again you have taught me something new I have always had problems with my binding and by watching this video I feel successful can't wait to try what you have taught me
Ohhhhh Thank you sew much, this was awesome!!! I recently accomplished my first quilt and I used my back fabric as my binding. I was so pleased with the whole process and can’t wait to do more! I enjoy each of your videos and learn something from each one 👏👏👏❤️😀😀😀
Oh my gosh, you are magic! I just watched this and used your techniques. The pointed end binding for east joining and using the thread ends were complete game changers. Thanks so much for teaching so clearly.
More great tips! I also didn't know about the fold going in opposite directions at the corners. Your way of beginning and ending the binding is so much easier than what I've always done!
Omg, this is the sweetest video. I love the end saying to enjoy finishing it. I am usually so over the project by then I rush through it and it looks sloppy. But now I have learned to enjoy the ending. Thank you!
I needed to do a refresher on doing the binding. I'm so happy that I came across your video. Just finished sewing the binding on, WOW what a simple and easy way to bring the ends together. Thank you. Now off to do the hand work, most definitely not my favorite thing to do.
I used your chenille Christmas quilt as my instruction to make a sweet baby quilt for my new grandson. I just watched this video to add the binding to that quilt. Thank you for your videos. I'm a beginner quilter. Anytime I need to learn a new quilting technique, I turn to your channel!
This is one of the best tutorials I have watched on binding. You explain everything in detail. I find binding can be hit or miss. Not my favourite part of quilting. But with good instructions it can make it so much easier. Love watching all your tutorials. 🇨🇦
Very good instructions on how to bind and finish my project. I’m a first time quilter and your video gave the the confidence I needed to complete my project. Thank you!
This method of starting the binding I saw on one of your previous videos and it works so well! Because of your previous video I almost didn't watch this either, but I love your presentations. The corner tips are new and I'll do that now. My hands are too arthritic though so I'll continue to machine stitch from the top in the ditch. Not sure why but 2 1/2" is just the right size for me to use or I can't catch the binding when sewing in the ditch from the top. I do measure for the 1/4" sewing line. Thanks again for fabulous tips! Cheers! 🇨🇦🍁🍁💐
Wow, your binding video has been the most helpful one I’ve seen! Thank you so much for all the close up footage that really helped to make things clear. Love your videos! ❤️ Brenda
SOOOO VERY EXCITED!!! Just got my book!!!! Love it. Because i do alot of your projects i wanted to purchase your first book. But i cannot wait for a second book with your other crafts and projects you do so well. i like quilting but i would make a dress before a quilt. Free motion quilting is a hard one but i love how beautiful it looks if you could make a series on free motion, that would be great. Laura many blessing to you and yours and to all in this very hard time we are going through.
Hi Laura, I really love your videos and your SO calming voice. You make me feel that even I may be able to do it. I've tried many times to bind my work using 90% corners, but have usually ended up rounding them. I only have an ordinary sewing machine, and I'm too old to invest in a long-arm, so my quilts tend to be small cribb quilts or lap quilts. I look forward to attempting to bind my next quilt using your lovely detailed instruction. Thanks very much for your help.
As always, a great and concise quilting tutorial. I love your joining method, it’s easier than measuring with just a few more stitches to secure. A shout out from me for the beautiful free motion quilting on the quilt you’re binding!
What a great tutorial....Thank you Laura....lovely fabric! ( so by the way, my anti-virating mat has arrived; both of them and I don't know how on earth I have survived so long without them. A life saver for any electronic machine)
Thank you for this video, it is perfect. this is the first time that I do my binding and for once she obeys me instead of doing it at her head thank you very much
Laura, your voice is so soothing it feels like you are reading a story to us. Just what we need in these times.
I was JUST thinking that. I came to find one of Lauras videos to destress me before bed as I have been spending too much time on my phone watching updates. xx
I agree! And very knowledgeable too
The quality of your videos along with your clear instructions are second-to-none. Thanks!
wow, thanks:)
If i hadn’t. Been at home and bored, i doubt I’d have watched this one. What a lot i learned. Thank you for your wonderful hints.
You explain things so well. It’s like sitting in a class with a teacher. THX

Binding is the one element that I detest about quilting. This makes my next project a little more appealing now.
