@@jocelync1800 you gotta remember if your not baptised into the truth then you are not baptised at all, and yes thats the blessing of baptism is to be reborn again meaning if your not baptised into the truth you will also not be reborn and to be reborn means to die and be born in heaven again making baptism completely essential for our salvation😎
I am using this video to teach my mother about baptism. My 66 year old mother has recently chosen to be baptized. I'm overjoyed and grateful to the Lord!
Just curious, because I too believe baptism is essential. After all Ives seen many verses that I believe speak to this. Romans 6 gives a pretty good explanation of why baptism is a necessary part of salvation. The sinner's prayer is not found anywhere in the scriptures. However the scriptures, old and new are filled with allusions to, examples of, and commandments for baptism. Putting on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a singular event the apostle Paul delineates in Romans 6 beginning with his discussion on sinning willfully; "what should we say are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase may it never be how should we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death? Therefore; we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father, so we also might walk in newness of life; for if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this that our old self was crucified with him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. For he who has died, is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ we believe that we should also live with him knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead is never to die again death no longer is master over him for the death that he died he died to sin once for all, but the life that he lives, he lives to God even so consider yourself to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore; do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies so that you obey it's lusts...". Pretty explanatory... We are buried with Him and raised with Him through baptism. Obviously, if you don't believe your just getting wet... but it is most definitely a singular event. I am not the judge, and I don't pretend to be. I go to a church where grace is employed. There are many who don't ascribe to water baptism. Most of those have been baptized though. All that being said I have no problem calling someone who has a misunderstanding of baptism brother or sister, as I said , I'm not their judge, but after taking this chapter into consideration I could not sleep at night if I wasn't baptized. I have no problem believing that baptism and baptism is implied to verses that don't necessarily reference baptism in that specific verse.Mathew10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." And Luke12:6-9 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God."). God bless in your love for the truth.

Allan, you believe that a new creature comes out of the waters of baptism. Is it necessary to be a new creature to be a Christian, or will the old man be sufficient for God? Does the Lord add people to his Church before or after baptism? Please get back with me. May God bless you.

If they said in the name of the father, son, holy ghost they did it wrong, you've just got wet, because the name of the father, son, holy ghost is Jesus Christ. For instance my name is Melachi, I'm a son Im a brother and I'm a cousin. When I tell you to do something in my name will you say son or will you say melachi? Just wanted to let you know if you did get baptized that way, because if you did you'll need to get baptized correctly which is getting baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. GOD BLESS
A necessary act of obedience. We must believe and obey Him. There is nothing in the Bible about "accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior." Although I do agree with the sentiment, but the problem with saying that is it excludes what the Bible really does say about God's requirements of us.
Wilton Stewart Jr, you've been spoon-fed that phrase baptism as an act of obedience and conditioned to believe it. It's not your own idea, you can't honestly say that you've ever seen that in the Bible. It's an Evangelical catchphrase that was coined in 1651, nothing more. It has no meaning Biblically, only what evangelical leaders say it means.
@@DeeMoney-rj4rj many understand that it doesn't show up in the Bible anywhere. Do you have another source that has more authority than the Bible, to accept this as true.
Kevin B The passages used as proof text to represent water baptism as an outward sign of our identification in Christ being Colossians 2:12-14 is the same as Romans 6:3-5 which is a parallel to 1 Corinthians 12:13 and has nothing to do with water baptism, the word baptizo Is used in different formats and is not always associated with water. These passages speak only through Faith our union with Christ by being baptized by the Spirit into Christ at our conversion. No where in the context of these passages is water being descriptive of the type of baptism being presented. So how can one associate the type of baptism being explained to have any link to water baptism? I feel someone had just erroneously imagined this through the motion in which we are placed into the water and not because scripture actually reveals and teaches it. Thus this man made tradition was born, so why are so many receptive of it when scripture clearly does not associate water as this outward sign? If Jesus water baptism was always an outward sign of our identification in Christ then why did He command His disciples to baptize with the same baptism John was administering at the same time John was baptizing? It is obvious that when Jesus disciples were commanded to water baptize believers as they called on the name of Jesus in repentance for forgiveness of sin that they had no grasp of what Jesus was about to endure. So how can Jesus' water baptism symbolize His death, burial and resurrection as it clearly did not mean this to the Apostles at the time they were baptizing people coming to them while confessing there sins? It clearly was just an outward sign of repentance to show we would bear fruit in proving our Repentance of sin and why they came confessing thier sins towards their Messiah through Faith in Jesus and the Gospel John preached of the now arrived Messiah in whom he proclaimed to be the Lamb and Chosen on of God to take away their sins. all the passages I have seen used to represent this supposed outward sign are just passages taking out of context and reading it into water baptism. It is our faith that is taught that affects our union with Christ when by the One Baptism we are Baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ and is never associated through the act of water baptism but through our faith and the confession of that faith. So it is faith alone that represents that we were placed into Christ as a whole and not through water which alone is our outward sign of repentance and the willingness to prove we repented in bearing fruit of repentance. I am not asking anyone to re-baptize as we all received water baptism by immersion in the Name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit which is the Name of Jesus/Yeshua which means salvation.(there is no savior besides God) for repentance but I ask in light of the truth of scripture and the correct interpretation of it, that we stop associating and teaching that our identification in Christ is an outward symbol of our repentance baptism but correctly teach that it is by our Faith in Jesus that we are Baptized by the Spirit as our One Baptism that immerses us into Christ's Body, Death,Burial and Resurrection, Ascension, Exaltation and seated in heaven.
The word clearly teaches baptism by the Holy Spirit. But it clearly teaches and water. Jesus said unless you are born again of WATER and SPIRIT you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Jesus was baptized not because He had to be, but to show us we need to be. It is for the remission of sins. You are justified by faith but it brings the faith to completion just as walking in the Spirit fulfills the faith that gave you the Spirit
The End Times one is not regenerated through water baptism, the water in which Jesus is describing is His Word that washes in which is the Gospel. By the Word He spoke to the Disciples of His choosing makeing them wholly clean read John 15:3. The Word of God being the Gospel is the instrument used that causes us to be washed thus is the washing of regeneration and the water that affects our regeneration by the Working and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Yes it's amazing, I received the Holy Spirit 3 months ago, and since then he guides me every single day in everything it's incredible! He told me to get baptized with water, usually I open the bible to find the answer, but this time I opened RUclips (no idea why) and your video was on the top of my RUclips page on my mobile, just uploaded 40secs ago. I HAD to comment to let you know. Thank you for your ministry, God bless you, he truly loves you!!
Say I was baptised as a child, and have lived a life of sin as I was growing up, then later decided to follow Jesus, should I get baptised again to symbolise my renewed faith in Christ.
Hey man, I just saw this video now and as I scrolled through the comments and saw that people liked your question but they didn't really answer it. Sorry for that. In response to your question, no. You don't need to get re-baptized. If that were the case then the question would need to be asked, "how many sins does it take before I have to get baptized again". As people who have a tendency to sin, again and again, it'd mean we'd all need to be baptized like every 6months. This also applies for when people ask if they need to "re-accept Jesus into their lives as well. Jesus knew that you would wrestle with a tendency of sin but you don't need to re-pray the sinners prayer each time. What you can do though is, share with your friends, a pastor, or a family member of how God is working in you. Tell them that you are now choosing to live following Jesus, but then importantly ask them to pray for you and help you. Because let's be honest, following Jesus isn't always easy, and that's ok. Jesus gets it and he died knowing that we'd wrestle with following him.
@Lego Kgoxy, No, you should get baptized for a Biblical reason, the Bible never says baptism's purpose is to symbolize anything. Romans 6:3-4 the word symbol isn't there, it's only the commentators who say that about Romans 6:3-4. Romans 6:4-7 goes on to say about baptism that that this is where the old man is crucified and is freed from sin. For this Biblical reason you should get baptized (by people who teach the Biblical reason) and then do what Zac says Talking with friends and a pastor and asking them to pray for you and help you.
Lego I know this is a long way from your question but if you were not fully immerse then you should be baptised again. Matthew 28:18 - 20 is Jesus's last command to his apostles and tells them what to do.
Amen, this symbol of a renewed life is amazing but remembered we are saved by grace through faith. There are many commenting on here saying baptism is essential for being saved which is false doctrine. Well you almost got it right😮 when God speaks his word works. It’s not our work it’s Gods work in us to cleanse us from sin. Titus 3:5-8, Mark 7:4. I would challenge anyone reading this to get your bible out and look up all the verses regarding baptism and cross references to the Old Testament. Baptism is wonderful thing given to us and commanded by God for the forgiveness of our sins. God bless you!
It's amazing what I have seen happen after people get baptized. It changes people. I was told it was not needed but something to do if we wanted to make a public act of faith. I am glad I did it. It did wash my sins clean I believe as I started to see clearly. I started to get dreams and visions of things that ended up coming true. I was warned of a spiritual attack that was going on for a long time and when and where the attack would get bad and it did and I was able to get my wife and I to safety just in time to avoid a car that hit the tree where we woudl have been standing. It's a long story but there was gossip going around we were made aware of before we had it confirmed. It was in another city and we found out whole visiting. Our lives have been blessed and the Lord has uplifted our marriage ever since.
For those asking about being baptized in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost vs Jesus Name both are okay. Matt 28:19 Father, Son, H.G. Acts 2:38 & Acts 19: 3-5 Jesus Name Acts 10:47-48 Lord Mark 16:16 (tantamount to Matt 28:19) Acts 8:12 Simon, Acts 8:34-35 Eunuch, Acts 9:17-18 Saul, Acts 16:14-15 Lydia, Acts 16:31-33 Jailer (Just baptized)
There's power in the name of Jesus. Even demons run when they hear His name. Jesus said baptize in name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit because He was still alive, had He told them to do it in His name it would show pride and conceit. Everything Jesus said and did was for the Father. While He was on earth. Make sense?
Baptizing in Jesus's is the only way in Matt. 28:19 Jesus said in the Name and not the titles, and when you go to Acts 2:38 you can see Peter being a disciple of Jesus Peter is saying in Jesus name. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are titles and not names.
I think everyone would know who Sergeant Blunt, and Brother Brandon is if they knew me. Saying The Father, The Son and The H.G. do you think the readers in that era knew who was the subject.
When in the bible say it is just an outward sign? And if you give a verse that talk about this, you should know that some of the verse also say baptism is for salvation. It is our job to reconcile the scriptures, not picking the verse that fits to our theology. 🙏
To say baptism is merely symbolic is a danger to your audience. It is spiritual change. Symbolic in the physical for the literal change in the spiritual. It is required! It does not say we "should" be baptized. It says be baptized as a command. You can not say God's commands are optional
What about Mark 7:14-16? (I’m a baby Christian, former Mormon). I thought from looking here, it would seem that it’s more about the change of heart than it is about works and outward ordinances right? And to add to that scripture Ephesians 2:8-9 and Galatians 5:4-6? Why do these ordinances matter except for symbolical significance? Is it not just about faith in Jesus to be saved by the gift of grace alone and not works?

I needed this to clear some things in my mind about baptism. I thought that it was more of a private symbolic celebration of coming out of your old life & into your new life in Christ. I was baptized as a child twice and didn't understand the full meaning of what it means to cleanse all of what was in the past & come in the new experience of life publicly to announce to your local congregation of your coming into the body of Christ and to be held accountable. I appreciate this video & will embrace my upcoming baptism with a renewed hope in my relationship with The Father 🙏🏿
Allen, if I may ask, what did Ananias mean when he said to Paul, the apostle of Christ, "And now, why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord?" Acts 22:16
this idea of baptism being an "outward sign of inward grace" or "inward decision" is actually never mentioned in the bible. Baptism is the point at which you are forgiven and receive the holy spirit Acts 2:38 is very clear about this - all the early Christians taught and believed this up through the 3rd century. Watch David Bercot on Baptism and he clearly spells out what the early church fathers believed on baptism.

Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’" It sure looks to me like it's water baptism that washes away our sins. Desirey Olison blessings. I don’t think it clearly teaches water baptism as necessary for salvation. Peter writes “not the removal of filth from our bodies” indicating he isn’t talking about water baptism as much as “the power that raised Jesus.” This is a more obvious illustration of the believers spiritual baptism at the time of conversion. The thief on the cross wasn’t baptized, did say the sinners prayer, did “ask Jesus into his heart”, didn’t go to church, nothing. The only thing he did was trust Jesus was who he said he was. Saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Another thing is, when interpreting scripture, if something seems to contradict another area of scripture, then it is to be interpreted by what is clearly understood in order to interpret scripture that is harder to understand. For instance, there are 1 or 2 scripture people wrongly interpret as water baptism a necessity for salvation. But there is a huge body of work (thanks to paul) thst clearly shows we are saved by grace through faith with absolutely no works involved. Hope this makes sense. Blessings, John. Galatians 2:19,20
John Godsey the Bible clearly says baptism saves us.. peter was referring to the obedience that Noah had while building the ark ..Noah had faith... but if he didn’t have obedience... he wouldn’t have been saved from the flood... same for us today.. we can believe all we want..we can have good intentions.. but until we obey the command to depend... and be baptized.. we won’t receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, nor will we be saved.. in the Jewish language baptizo meant to bathe or to cleanse.. like dishes... so he was saying not putting away the filth of flesh.. in the book of acts.. 2:38 the Bible clearly states that baptism is necessary for the remission of sins.. we do it for salvation. We don’t live under the same law as the thief on the cross did. Before the cross they lived under a different law. I tend to believe that the thief on the cross was recorded to show the grace Jesus had.. perhaps if the thief COULD be baptized at that moment he would.. so Jesus had mercy on him. 1 Peter 3:21King James Version (KJV) 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: King James Version (KJV)

Are there any situations where a person needs to be re-baptised? For example, if they've been disconnected with God and their church for years. I would like your input on that. On a personal note, I've been putting off baptism for a long time and this video is further encouragement that I shouldn't put it off. Thank you!
Great question Elle! So, I would say absolute YES there is. Let me give you an example. Let's say you were baptized as a child but you did it because someone pressured you or scared you into going to hell if you didn't. So, in other words, you didn't understand what you were doing and you may not have even been saved. So, if you truly get saved later or you re-dedicate your life to Christ, I see no reason why you shouldn't go ahead and get re-baptized. But if you know you are a Christian but are just backslidden then I see no need to get baptized again. It would actually probably send the wrong message to people that you could lose your salvation if they see you getting baptized like every year! Lol.
THE BEAT by Allen Parr The Christian who had backslidden and felt the need to get re-baptised was the part I was more unsure about. Thank you for the clarification and I look forward to your upcoming videos
THE BEAT by Allen Parr ...so i was baptised as a very young teenager, my firend and I were baptized together at the same time actually. Now that im an adult, i look back and feel like i wasnt serious about it. Im in my 30s now and im finding myself JUST NOW being hungry for the Lord and his word...i have always love the Lord and was brought up in a christian household and going to church was something i always did. But now I FEEL different..and i just worry that maybe i wasnt REALLY saved because when i look back now that im older and i see things differently. It was almost like maybe me and my friend just wanted to do it for attention idk hard to explain. What are your thoughts on this?
@@bam2431 I wouldn't call that a "re-baptism" I would call it being baptized in accordance with the word of God. If you weren't serious that one time, then you were just getting wet. Faith has to accompany baptism for it to be genuine. Remember what the scriptures say about baptism and its necessity (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-8, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12, 1 Peter 3:21, etc.).
I wanted to get baptized a long time ago and I still want. But my parents don't let me. (we're orthodoxists) . Please pray that God will make a way. I know He will. I just have to be patient.
Wouldn't clarifying baptism require using scriptures to establish what one says is true? Is clarifying saying, "well this is just what I think" ? Is it "as long as it makes sense to me, it matters not where it comes from"?

Mom had me baptised when I was young and I still ended up not being a Christian from a relatively young age in my life. My name also happens to be Matthew and I was born on Easter day in 1995.
i disagree with the assumption that we should 'be baptized because jesus was baptized" and "that it is commanded" when understood in the original context and language the "great commission" means something different than what is typically assumed.
My friend, Any Christian can perform a baptism. Jesus commanded his disciples, saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." This is what Christians do. :) ruclips.net/video/sGmtYnMGQP4/видео.html

Two questions: 1 - where in the entirety of scripture are we told that "baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality"? 2 - where throughout 2000 years of church history can we find baptism described as such? I think the wedding analogy is a bad one. To make what you're saying equate to a wedding ceremony you would need to have the couple "claiming" the reality of their marriage due to them acknowledging their commitment to one another. A ceremony at the courthouse is still a ceremony - no different in substance than the ceremony that takes place in a church building.
When Namaan dipped in the Jordan 7 times and his leprosy was cleansed, it was not the water, but God who cleanses his leprosy. Would God had cleansed his leprosy if he had got into "cleaner waters in Damascus"? No! 2 Kings 5:1-14. 2 Peter 3:21. Baptism saves because our obedience gives us a good conscious towards God.
I got baptised in the seventh day adventist church some years ago and in 2016 i accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and saviour . I have not been baptised yet in the born again church. Can i be baptised again or not
I have an issue with the fact that almost all the verses referencing baptism in the Bible aren’t mentioned in this video. I can’t find where it says baptism is a symbol anywhere in the Bible. I also don’t hear anyone talking about the Bible saying baptism is for the forgiveness of sins.
baptizo in greek means immerse,,, we are being united in Christ through baptism, in His burial and ressurection bcoz Christ was resurrected we too can be resurrected bcos Christ do so if we are being united in Christ So it means baptism is part of God's redemption plan we can receive our forgiveness through it. Baptism is our redemption center were we can receive the forgiveness of God. Romans 6:1-5. 1 Peter 3:21
Can you get re baptized? If you’ve turned from God after you got baptized and want to start fresh and you have committed your life to him again? If that makes sense! Thanks!!!
What do you make of Acts chapter 2 where the disciples were speaking to the multitude on the day of Pentecost? In Acts 2 verse 37 the multitude asked the disciples what they should do and in verse 38 Peter said to them, “repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Would you say by looking at Peter’s words, that you can omit repentance or baptism and still receive the remission of your sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit? If so, why would he include both repentance and baptism?
That's a great question, Peter obviously included both repent AND be baptized for remission of sins. You are reading it correctly. Unfortunately, many people want to divorce baptism out of this very simple command by a Spirit inspired Peter.
What about Matthew 26:28 " for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many."?
Actually, Matthew 26:28 says this: "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." And about 2 months later, when the new testament began, the apostles that Jesus had chosen began to preach, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..." This is how the blood that Jesus shed for us is applied to our lives, and we are washed from our sins. Alleluia!
A key purpose in water baptism is that the ceremony itself is a public confession of your new found faith in Christ, and I think we've all heard that before. But what seldom gets mentioned (if ever, actually) is what's happening in the Spirit realm..... Spiritually, what's happening is Jesus is telling Satan that; Hey, no longer yours, THIS ONE NOW BELONGS TO ME! Amen
1 Peter 3:21 (NKJV): 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
I accepted Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior yesterday. I want to get baptized but because of this pandemic we cannot go out to any type of bathing spot for safety reasons. I could be baptized in a tub full of water but in the home where I and my parents live does not have a bathtub. What should I do?
Just my opinion, but I think that as long as you genuinely have Jesus in your heart and are taking the steps to live a Godly life to the best of your ability, there is no need to worry about getting baptized at the moment during this tough time. More of a reason why "Salvation by grace through faith" is so important. I think God would understand if you wait to get baptized until this pandemic passes. I would pray about it, refer to the Bible, and try to talk with other Godly people to hear different perspectives and then decide what you feel is right for you. Hope this helps.
Does it not worry anyone that he did not give a scripture reference saying baptism is a public expression of a private experience, or a public celebration of something that has already taking place privately in your heart? And that he did not give a scripture reference that baptism is after one gets saved? All the speaker did was recite the play book, the script on Evangelical teachings on baptism. He doesn't claim this is what the Bible teaches. He did mention one correct thing that baptism is by immersion, but again no scripture reference. I wish he would admit that this is just the Evangelical belief system on baptism.
@Bo Stephens I agree, many people don't care about the scriptures, but I think it's always been this way. As scary as it may sound, it's been my experience that people only care about the scriptures if they're taught/trained to care about the scriptures, and even in that there are degrees. You gave some good examples of that. I don't think it's a deliberate or premeditated lie every time though. Many unwittingly propagate a lie begun long ago, that they've bought into. Such as in the case with the video. I doubt he's ever even questioned if the idea that baptism is merely an outward expression is in the Bible. At an emotional level, why would one need that to be in the Bible if they trust their teacher? Another way they have of getting around this is by saying "The teaching doesn't have to be written anywhere in the Bible, as long as the concept is there". They can therefore make up ANYTHING THEY WANT, under this claim, and they don't realize how far from the Bible they've actually gotten. You ask people to show this video's definition for baptism in water in the Bible and in response get a deer in the headlights look. No doubt that the heretical teaching that baptism is merely an outward expression, or proclamation, or "the wedding ring" is an egregious blatant lie and has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bible.
We should always Remeber when we get baptized our sins are forgotten so never remind god of our sins god chooses to forget ❤🙏 god has feelings too god made us in the likeliness of his own image 😊
While I fully agree with Allen on being fully submerged in water during baptism, I do feel that it would depend on the circumstances at the time eg. A person who receives Jesus Christ on his death bed, and wants to be baptized then he would have to be sprinkled with water during baptism. Paul the apostle did it for the jailer and his family at midnight. He did not take them down to the river at midnight....
The Didache was written in the same Koine dialect as the New Testament. The authors instruct that some baptisms may be done pouring water over the head, and give the example of those who cannot get out of bed. They see no contradiction between the words dip and pour.
Baptism is necessary for salvation according to his word.. People twist scripture into making it say its not necessaryt but if you read the word w out any human influence , youll come away knowing you must be baptized.
On the day of Pentecost after Peter preached to the people about Jesus crucifixion, Peter told them, "Repent and let every one of you be baptized (by immersion) in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." They were then saved and added to the church (Acts 2:40-47). Romans 6:3-6 tells us "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin." So in baptism our sins are forgiven, we are united with Christ in the likeness of His death and His resurrection. The gospel (I corinthians 15:1-4) which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus saves us (Romans 1:16). We aren't saved before we are baptized.

I was denied baptism by my pastor. He suspected that I was sleeping with my girlfriend, who I am soon to marry, who has been with the church her whole life. So he doesn't want to represent the church improperly, to paraphrase what he's saying. Am I to go back to him and ask again? Should I go to a different church? Do I NEED some kind of church authority figure to perform the baptism, or is it possible for me and my girlfriend to perform one ourselves? This was a few years ago, and I'm still not baptized by the church's standards. I was baptized as a baby, because I grew up in a Catholic family. But have yet to be formally baptized as a self-identified, saved Christian

Hello Allen, Have you done a video on whether a person should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Matt. 28:19). Many say it doesn’t matter but I am interested in hearing your perspective.
Allen, could you please do a video on what happens when one is baptized in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - does the Holy Spirit immediately come into one's life to lead and guide at that point? Thanks.
My friend, there is no such thing as "being baptized in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". Jesus commanded us to be baptized in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. I got baptized when I was 11, even though it was my choice I didn't really understand what it meant. I just did it because everybody else was doing it. I got saved at the age of 21 and now I fully understand baptism and its importance. My question is, should I get baptized again? When I was baptized as a kid I wasn't saved but now I am.
Yes, you do need to be baptized according to the gospel of Christ, my friend. The Bible says that baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins, and that it is how we are washed from our sins by his blood (saved). Acts 2:38-40, 22:16, Mark 16:16, John 3:5, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 3;21, etc... So, if you did not know this when you were 11 (when you were baptized into three titles, and no name), then you were not saved then...and you were not saved at age 21, because your own words testify (at the time you submitted this comment) that you still have not obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ. Here is the way of salvation for sinners, since the day that the new testament began: " Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38 This is the way that anyone can be saved from his sins, and become a Christian. There is no other way. Amen.
@@TheWordprophet I believe that I'm saved. And my baptism was unto Christ when I was 11. But I submitted my life to Christ at 21. Perhaps I may get baptised again. I'm unclear of that. But I am saved. I dont subscribe to apostolic/pentecostal doctrine. I believe that being saved is through Christ by the Holy Spirit in which I was baptised spiritually and the water baptism is the outer expression of that belief. I've seen and experienced the holy spirit working in my life and renewing me. So in that regard I have no doubt that I am saved.

That said, I did not communicate with you to argue with you about what you wish to believe. You are free to believe whatever you choose, and I respect your right to believe whatever you want. However, according to your own words, what you believe is not the doctrine of Jesus Christ, according to the Bible; and you still have yet to believe and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, as it is written in the scripture. If you wish to learn of the gospel of Jesus Christ, you are welcome to visit the Wordprophet channel, and I will be happy to help you. If not, then I will leave you to your own beliefs. Good explanation. Would have preferred if he has stressed that our old self dies and we begin living a new life in Christ, which is one of the symbolisms of baptism, rather than "cleansing." I was cleansed of my sins when I repented and became born again in Christ. When we go down, it represents our old self dying. He does a good job of capturing all the main points of baptism.

For me personally Baptism is an act of Obedience that a person should do after accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
That's exactly what it is Wilton. Good answer!
Wilton Stewart Jr everybody don’t understand that though
@@DeeMoney-rj4rj many understand that it doesn't show up in the Bible anywhere. Do you have another source that has more authority than the Bible, to accept this as true.
I just got baptized a few weeks ago, best day of my life. Not necessary for salvation but everyone should though.
Kevin B following I believe God's commandments are necessary
Kevin B The passages used as proof text to represent water baptism as an outward sign of our identification in Christ being Colossians 2:12-14 is the same as Romans 6:3-5 which is a parallel to 1 Corinthians 12:13 and has nothing to do with water baptism, the word baptizo
Is used in different formats and is not always associated with water.
Do you think it is Spirit baptism only? I used to think the same thing.
Coming exactly at the right timing wow, I asked myself this question because I want to be baptized, thanks God!

@Lego Kgoxy,
No, you should get baptized for a Biblical reason, the Bible never says baptism's purpose is to symbolize anything. Romans 6:3-4 the word symbol isn't there, it's only the commentators who say that about Romans 6:3-4. Romans 6:4-7 goes on to say about baptism that that this is where the old man is crucified and is freed from sin. For this Biblical reason you should get baptized (by people who teach the Biblical reason) and then do what Zac says
Talking with friends and a pastor and asking them to pray for you and help you.
Unto what were you baptized? That is where we need to begin...

Acts 2:38 & Acts 19: 3-5 Jesus Name
Acts 10:47-48 Lord
Mark 16:16 (tantamount to Matt 28:19)
Acts 8:12 Simon, Acts 8:34-35 Eunuch, Acts 9:17-18 Saul, Acts 16:14-15 Lydia, Acts 16:31-33 Jailer (Just baptized)

Alan, I like the way you clarify things in your videos. I too agree that baptism is by submersion into water.
To say baptism is merely symbolic is a danger to your audience. It is spiritual change. Symbolic in the physical for the literal change in the spiritual. It is required! It does not say we "should" be baptized. It says be baptized as a command. You can not say God's commands are optional
He does reference baptism as a command , he mentioned that in this video.
The End Times to add works to salvation is the most dangerous according to the Bible
Thank you for such an informative straight to the point video!

I appreciate this video & will embrace my upcoming baptism with a renewed hope in my relationship with The Father 🙏🏿

this idea of baptism being an "outward sign of inward grace" or "inward decision" is actually never mentioned in the bible. Baptism is the point at which you are forgiven and receive the holy spirit Acts 2:38 is very clear about this - all the early Christians taught and believed this up through the 3rd century. Watch David Bercot on Baptism and he clearly spells out what the early church fathers believed on baptism.
How did the Gentiles receive the Holy Ghost before being water baptized in Acts 10?
@@Matt-ox2qc The Lord poured out His Spirit on them in accordance with the prophecy in Joel 2:28 that "all mankind" would receive His Spirit. Once the Jews were convinced that the Gentiles were equal partakers they continued with the teaching of Jesus to baptize them in water for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 10:47-48).

Hey Mr Parr, I am actually a new Christian. Been with Jesus for a few months now but I have not been baptized :( Although I really want to but my parents won't allow me. I was born into an atheist family. What would you do if you were me? Is there a way to persuade them? Thank you!
Rui Zhong Tay I would say that the decision is completely up to you. I have a friend who was raised in an atheist family but found God and got baptised at the age of 19. His family was there and they now attend church. His mother also wants to get baptised now. So keep praying and studying, but I would encourage you to get baptised when you're ready
Ok thanks :) so basically just wait until I am old enough to make this decision on my own?
Rui Zhong Tay how old are you now, if you don't mind me asking?
Im 16
Rui Zhong Tay I think you're old enough to know if you want to commit to God through baptism. Although, I'm not sure if your church would require parental consent. Do you have a mentor at church who can guide you and help you to talk to your parents about everything?

Great Teaching Brother Allan. Baptism is indeed symbolic & a public commitment of a Follower & Believer of Christ however Not a necessity for Salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9. 12 “A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there, 13 came to me, and standing near said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And [h]at that very time I looked up at him. 14 And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an [i]utterance from His mouth. 15 For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’" It sure looks to me like it's water baptism that washes away our sins. Water baptism does save us, not the cleansing of the flesh, but understanding that it's what God has told us to do to be saved. It's not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience towards Go d. I believe baptism is essential.
The Bible clearly states that baptism it self saves.. it never refers to water baptism as a symbolism of anything.
1 peter 3:18-21

I got baptized at the age of 7 or 8. But only 4 or 5 month ago I was born again ...should I baptize again?
I would suggest doing so China because when you got saved before you didn't understand what you were doing because you weren't saved. Now, you are and so to celebrate that within a community of people would be appropriate.
The Bible doesn't support the idea of being baptized and not understanding what you're doing. You must be baptized in order to be born again as baptism is a death and you rise to newness of life (Romans 6:3-8).
Acts 19 shows us that one must be taught correctly to be baptized correctly.

thank God for all your videos ❤
Lol.

What do you make of Acts chapter 2 where the disciples were speaking to the multitude on the day of Pentecost? In Acts 2 verse 37 the multitude asked the disciples what they should do and in verse 38 Peter said to them,
“repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Would you say by looking at Peter’s words, that you can omit repentance or baptism and still receive the remission of your sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit? If so, why would he include both repentance and baptism?
That's a great question, Peter obviously included both repent AND be baptized for remission of sins. You are reading it correctly. Unfortunately, many people want to divorce baptism out of this very simple command by a Spirit inspired Peter.

Of course
What about Matthew 26:28 " for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many."?
What about it?
Actually, Matthew 26:28 says this:
"For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
And about 2 months later, when the new testament began, the apostles that Jesus had chosen began to preach,
"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..."
This is how the blood that Jesus shed for us is applied to our lives, and we are washed from our sins.

Amen

Thank you I really needed this
It would be nice to see a scriptural basis for this claim that a specific “water” baptism is required.
Yes baptism is essential..spiritual baptism
once again a great concise explanation!!!
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin."
So in baptism our sins are forgiven, we are united with Christ in the likeness of His death and His resurrection. The gospel (I corinthians 15:1-4) which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus saves us (Romans 1:16). We aren't saved before we are baptized.
Hey Allen I have been enjoying your videos for a few weeks and also signed up for your Bible study made easy course. I really appreciate your wisdom. I have studied water baptism a lot and have been on both sides of this issue. I would suggest you watch your own video a few times with a critical mind and see if you still feel the same about the essential nature of water baptism. Thanks again and shod bless your ministry!!!
What are your thoughts on dispensationalism?
I like your the way you teach.
My question is how do the word look at mason an also eastern star
Jonathan Vallery that is not of. God they deaj with a lot of riutals sacfices follwing. Jesus thosr are occult wichtcraft.
Thanks Jonathan. Can you elaborate on your question a little further? Thanks,
ultimately the great architect is revealed as lucifer and the light masons are looking for is the false light of lucifer so it is not possible to pledge allegiance to Satan and serve God. at the 33rd degree you have to denounce Jesus and accept Muhammad. all secret societies have their origin in mystery Babylon and the occult.
I am getting baptized tomorrow and I’m extremely excited and nervous!
Hello Allen,
Have you done a video on whether a person should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Matt. 28:19). Many say it doesn’t matter but I am interested in hearing your perspective.
It does. Matter its scriptural it harmonizes with the book of Acts like in Acts 2;38. Actsv8:12-16. Acts 19:1-7. Col 3;17.
Thank you. Very informative.
I’m getting baptized tomorrow. 😊
Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38
Here are two important teachings from the scripture that will help you...

Hello brother can you make a video on holy spirit baptism
Why did Jesus have to get baptized by John? And can you describe or make a video about blood, water and spirit please brother. 🙏🏻
Here is the way of salvation for sinners, since the day that the new testament began:
" Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38
This is the way that anyone can be saved from his sins, and become a Christian.

Dear woman,
Respectfully, as a minister of Jesus Christ the Lord, I also do not subscribe to the apostolic/pentecostal doctrine. In fact, on the Wordprophet channel, there is an entire playlist dedicated to teaching the "Oneness Pentecostals" the difference between their religion and what the Bible says.
I am not here to argue, but to serve in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sincerely,
Clinton
@@TheWordprophet I am saved according to my faith and submission of my life unto Christ as Lord and Savior and His holy spirit by His grace. If He leads me to be re-baptized now that I am truly saved then so be it. Agree to disagree....may His spirit lead me.
@@naturallymemarie9650
"Agree to disagree..."
What chapter and verse is that, please?
Where is it written that Christians may disagree on the gospel of Christ?
Good explanation. Would have preferred if he has stressed that our old self dies and we begin living a new life in Christ, which is one of the symbolisms of baptism, rather than "cleansing." I was cleansed of my sins when I repented and became born again in Christ. When we go down, it represents our old self dying. He does a good job of capturing all the main points of baptism. He explains things well.
Can you please talk about the difference between christening, conversion and water baptism?
I pray you find the answers you seek. Read the scriptures daily to see if what men preach or teach is true. Acts 17:11
