One thing I forgot to mention is people might think hyperbloom powercrept things. And I do think it’s a factor. In fact I made a whole video on it here. I think you could say it powecrept the floor, rather than the ceiling, and brought a lot of worse units up. Similar to what I said about Furina except Furina also powercreep ceiling lol. Would u make an updated Nahida Guide? I wanted to know if Golden Troupe is good for her or Gilded or just Deepwood, then there is artifacts main stats like whether full em, em-dendro-em, em-em-crit, em-dendro-crit etc..... Your videos overselling Furina. She is not really above other character. She is not weak but not the uncontested best character how ur videos shows her. (For c0 f2p or wekin lvl investment).
In my opinion I think Neuvillette is the only one I consider true power creep. Other characters have different enough quirks in their kit that can really make or break a lot of strong teams in very situations. Meanwhile Neuvillette wins as long as the enemies aren’t hydro 💀
@@skyfires4499 C0R0 Neuvillette vape team calced 90k dps if you can manage to vape off guoba. (still vastly easier than sukokumon) You can just run fischl against cyro and layla/ganyu against electro or something if you don't want to work for it. At C3R1+ speedruns the other characters don't even get swapped out in most wave because it is a time loss, so you can fit another entire team in with no time loss at all. Current speedrun at 24seconds combined for all 3 chambers in 2nd half. He also clears top half hydro enemy in under a minute combined, being able to slot in hutao and xiangling in the remaining team slots only to swap out for chamber 3.

@@Ronttt Wrio is busted af on his melt teams at C0, and is a one man army at C1 just like Neuv, but he excels at single target dmg whereas Neuv at AoE. He is also top 3 characters to do solo runs with at C1, his self sustain and never ending DPS Windows is crazy, dude has basically no downtime on his DPS, even solo Neuv has to take a small break when everything is on CD and no orbs, having to manually charge his CA which takes ages. People don't talk much about Wrio cause he becomes busted at C1, when he coulda been that at C0, but Hoyo messed up there. But don't be fooled to think he is weak. He is already the king of melt, whereas Ayaka the Queen of freeze, Ganyu can do both but doesnt excel at one. I also think people won't give him the title of best cryo DPS in the game cause his direct competition, Ayaka has a massive fanbase, but me personally I think he already surpasses Ayaka, due to how flexible he is, you can run every team with this guy, melt, freeze, mono, dendro, he does it all whereas Ayaka is locked to play freeze (but she is the best at that). I could be biased cause he is one of my mains, but also I do know all his strenghts and his only one weakness very well. Dude hasnt let me down once in abyss ever since I got him, and gave me impressive abyss clearing personal records that I couldnt do with other chars.
@@alexferrier5732 I agree. Even if you don't activate his elemental skill his charged attack brings an absolute power punch. What I like is that I don't need to sprint just to apply Cryo in weapons or wait for 10 seconds for elemental skill. And additionally I don't need to plunge just to mine ores, I could just beat the crap out of it.
I truly think Neuvilette is the only true powercreep character. Its kinda hard to powercreep supports when they all do specific things, even furina relys on healers. Neuv is just unconditional damage with insane self sustain and aoe. His goal is strictly damage and he beats everyone at it. There are teams that can probably match him but as a standalone unit hes absolutely busted and powercreep incarnate.

Neuvillette is literally the Hydro Sovereign. That's literally what he was designed and written to be. People cry about him being power creep, but the only character archetype of similar power we will get like him is another Sovereign. (Or perhaps another descender like Phanes or something, which are are supposedly more powerful than the Sovereigns)
Powercreep is inevitable, but im glad it took this long to start making an appearance. Also i do like the fact that you made a point about how early constellations have more value now than ever, because for f2p it's sorta like who cares. Obviously some 5 stars perform better than other's innately, but i would make a generalization and say most 5 star units at C0 with f2p/bp weapons dont perform too absurdly out of reach of eachother. It really is only when u start looking at the signature weapons and constellations when it shows how "optimal" the stats have gotten for these things. I am excited for the route Fontaine is taking with breaking standard team philosophy. (Mono Pyro, True Hydro Carry, conditional buffer via external healer, weaponizing crystallize, overload synergy) Cant wait to see what the latter half of 4.x will be setting up in terms of meta, im guessing self applied character infusion (Bennett Burst, Jean Burst, Dori Burst) purely because of that new BP Claymore that makes no goddamm sense rn, but im optimistic about my idea.
@sutkonos he's not breaking the philosophy of Mono Pyro, he's just designed to be played in Mono Pyro to the point of making Pyro's strongest reactions (Melt and Vaporize) obsolete on him, and by far is the best on fielder for a Mono Pyro team. Mono Pyro for awhile wasn't a mainstream teamcomp, it was viable, but it wasn't mainstream like Vaporize, Freeze, Hyperbloom. Hope I gave you a satisfactory answer.
Powercreep is a natural progression for basically every live service game. The expectation should never be "this character is so good that it is impossible to powercreep." Even with genshin, there had been many times a specific unit was greatly hyped just for mihoyo to bait people with the new "best." If you are ever fixated with pulling the "most meta" units, do know that Neuvillette will eventually become a stepping stone for the new "best," just like ganyu, raiden, and alhaitham.
Yeah, I started to see some peoples and videos trashing Ayaka, which would've been unbelievable 2 or 1 years ago. I think come Natlan or Snezhnaya at most, Neuvillette will experience the same thing.

Just go for dendro and call it a day, and because of dendro they now have to level up the dps damage higher to compete with a broken ass element. @@Mr_DE_0395except dendro teams have the majority of their dmg coming out of double hydro/alhaitham/electro units. abyss has gotten harder over the years, the problem is artifact quality has also gone up a lot. better artifacts + better characters make the abyss easier, but I know for a fact you mfs are those who cried about “cringe enemies” when the difficulty goes up a bit.
Neuv dmg would not be considered insane if he was single target character but the fact that he can cover the whole floor of abyss is just stupid. C0 R1 Neuv can solo abyss as long as the enemy isn't resistance to hydro which considered as near impossible before with few exception and his full team is not only super powerful but also extremely flexible I don't mind having new character breaking record as long as they have their drawback like Hu Tao struggling in AOE scenario while managing her HP or Xiao and Ganyu being rather clunky and have their own issue while Neuv is just OP against anything that is not hydro res
I recall there was a point in beta when Neuv couldnt move while using the beam, only rotate, but testers said he felt very clunky. That was the perfect weakness for him, his AoE wouldnt feel as powerful if he could only rotate since he wouldnt been able to re-align himself in the enemy direction, but he would still have retained some AoE capabilities. But hey, blame the testers who didnt think it was ridiculous that a character that had massive single target dmg also had massive AoE capabilities.

Xiao is so dogshit to vertically invest in. Even his C1 is a questionable pull, if u have C6 Faruzan lol. The only good con is C6, and its terrible in boss fights. U compare it to recent Fontaine DPSes and Furina and they seem like C12s compared to him lmaoo😂.
as far as abyss is concerned, they'll definitely make it hard during 4.5-4.8 versions. Its usually during the start of new region(4.0-4.4) they make it easy for new players, during later half of versions when everyone has built the new units and good units have had reruns, they'll make it hard again.
i 100% agree with you. I think its been great. The new Fontaine characters give us more options :) Furina brought up some older characters. I love Jean but i never heard anyone besides Tuonto talking about her, but now shes in the conversation for one of the best support healers :) I dont mind if a new character comes out thats straight up better than my fav. I love that Neuvillette is out and ppl love him. I love using my Ayato and still use him all the time 💙 I actually pulled for Ayato because of your video on him :)
I really appreciate that you recommended new players focus on getting their favorite characters and building those characters' best teams. As someone who plays gacha games wanting to be able to play the characters I'm actually fond of, it always feels bad when meta players imply I'm playing the game less seriously because I'm not just trying to play the most meta units all the time.
Genshin still allows you to clear with older units, but I’d caution against trying that with other software that is gacha first, game second. With Genshin, I can at least be relatively sure that if I continue building my Ayato despite Neuvilette (and more later) existing, I’ll still be able to use him in the 6.0 Abyss if he’s upgraded to his non-whale ceiling. A gacha app (I won’t call it a game) that died a while back had such hilariously bad powercreep that every second patch you’d look for a rerolling guide if you weren’t a whale but still wanted to clear the content. You restart your account from zero and try to luck out on the newest unit, then auto-battle faceroll all the way to the newest story bits. The new stuff had 25% to 100% better numerical performance than the old stuff because it was forcing addicts to pull latest each time: my hard mode capable setup from before couldn’t clear a story mission in the new patch in normal mode when I quit.
I argue that powercreep is more like a supply problem; it's effectively dropping the price of a certain level of power by introducing more available account power for a certain amount of pulls; given that there's no objective, long-term in-game demand for that increased power (ie. higher game difficulty, more modes - think Pure Fiction in HSR) - any problem perceived is really based on relative ranking (ie. player anxiety), which is more of a tautological existence (there will always be some1 who is SSS tier at any point)
I think Furina is actually the biggest powercreep we have experienced. As much as she has elevated so many of my teams, all of those teams now feel bad to play without her.
@Bluzlbee yea I can understand that IF you already have the dps you need from your other 3 characters, but a lot of people can not afford to drop their dps for a comfy pick.
At least Furina is a universal support so she boosts a ton of characters even really old ones. Different from a primary DPS unit that can solo damage output entire teams while requiring zero skill (spin2win neuvilette)

before furina came out ppl heavily coped that Yelan was a better solo hydro than XQ and as someone who has c0r1 Yelan that is still bs (still true to this day). but now that furina is out and double hydro is strong, its fair to say yelan is stronger but they all work their best with each other so it just depends on who you have built
about constellation investment and banner sales: Mihoyo is fully aware of it that if a very powerfull constellation is early avaible it leads to more pulls. A prime example is Furina where in the beta her C6 got swapped with her C2.
I think re-tuning older characters to keep up should be standard practice. I get why they don't do it, proft-wise, but for the sake of the health of the game, it should be done regularly. Also, the enemies behavior and stats/resistances should be modified to address the sudden appearance of broken characters. Don't nerf characters. Ever. Just creep everything else up to their level.
honestly they still could make decent money tuning old characters to stay relevant because then they would still make money on rerun banners from new players.
Sadly this rarely happens in the gacha title game. Because they don't see any value in doing it financially wise. Better drop a new unit and milked from that. Unlike moba, fps, rts style competitive game. Which needs balancing as the game progresses
I will tell you why Hoyo doesnt re-tune older characters to keep up: Money, why re-tuning for free when they can sell you the re-tunes in the form of new characters? Sounds cold to say it, but it is what is, Hoyo is not known for doing charity at all.
I also believe theres a law that prevents characters to change at all after release if they have limited availability, only way of tuning are indirect ones like artifacts or the kind of enemies you face
You know, another crazy thing that's happened with Fontaine characters especially, is that the sound and visual design of their abilities end up making them FEEL much enjoyable and impressive to play as well. Like, the particle effects, the hum of power, and the rune being drawn in front of Neuvillette as his charges up his hydro cannon just look and feels cool as hell. Chevruese's gunshot while she yells "Last chance!" feels more impactful when you let that explosive charge fly. All the other bursts, explosions, thumps, rain of damage, particle effect and general visual and audible impact that actually changes the looks of the character and battlefield as you play also heavily influences how fun something seems in the moment. Fontaine characters seem to be on another level when it comes to that visceral impact, though maybe that's just me. It's not something I can actually apply any real numerical value to and those things are heavily dependent on your aesthetic sense, but... certainly feels like it's on a different level to me...
Yep, thats what I feel when I play Wrio, his punch sound effects are so satisfying, also his animations are amazing, dude came up with a full new moveset (boxing) which is definitely out of the main 5 archetypes (bow, greatsword, sword, spear, catalyst), very few characters are out of those archetypes like Childe (daggers), Heizou (martial arts), Kaz, Raiden and Ayaka (katana), Neuv (beam) from the top of my mind.
It hurts me to see that fontaine character are this good. I'm not spending much on the game (only welkin and sometimes bp) but over three years of playing I managed to get c6r4 xiao and c6 venti. I knew that theirs constellations are not really worth it, but they're my favourite characters and i wanted to build them as strong as possible. And i get sad when I realise that all those investments gave me just a little bit of dps increase while new characters are broken just at c0r1

Yeah. I buy Welkin and the BP and was able to get almost all Fontaine characters with that. Little did I know that I wouldn’t be able to use all of them because I ran out of resources reaaaally quickly, despite playing every day. That’s such a no-go for me. They add features that make it easier for you to determine which artifacts to use and how to build characters AND THEN YOU DON‘T HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DO IT. A big chunk of the problem are the randomized artifacts. You just don‘t get very far with a day‘s amount of resin and that’s so frustrating…
Yeah.. honestly having to build characters has made me too lazy to pull for them. The first time this happened was with cyno. I really liked him, but I did not want to collect scarabs. Especially when I still had others to build and they had easier materials to gather
It will be scary to think what Natlan will be like, and we have more characters to come out. Clorande, arlachino, chiori, and more coming in Fontaine. I am loving the difference in each characters play styles, it is awesome to see how more unique and less played teams come in to meta.
MHY is probably setting up a stage for future Sovereign Dragons to become the peak on-field DPS. Archons are usually the best at supporting/damaging without needing significant field time. I expected that the Harbringers will fill the on-field spot but it seems like it is not the case with the currently released Harbringers.
My perspective is that when I pull a character, if that particular character is getting benched in the future, it feels like a really bad investment, its 180 pulls to gurantee ONE CHARACTER. I feel a particular joy hyper investing in my characters, especially getting their premium team rather than going for constellations since they feel like bait to spend money (I'm a welkin only player).
I couldn't care less how good Nuevelette is, I will never go for him because he's way too boring. I'd rather hyper invest in my favorite characters. I already did that with C6 R5 Furina, C6 R1 Navia (eventually R5), C6 R1 Raiden (also eventually R5) C6 R1 Kokomi, and I'll be getting C6 R5 Clorinde, the Pyro Archon to C6 R5, the Cryo Archon to C6 R5 and Nahida to C6 R5 eventually. Yelan will also eventually be C6 R5 and I'm not wishing on anyone but my favorites anymore. I'll be skipping a majority of banners just so I can hyper invest in a few characters instead of going for a bunch of characters
it was about time. the same characters have been at a decent level for years now and only now it feels like characters are straight up better. but i like how theres still a purpose to older characters at least in the sense that they feel different to play and have unique mechanics. i just hope that like we stay at this new power level for a while instead of constantly going up in power cuz that would be bad imo
People cry about power level in Fontaine cycle. But that's only because they are releasing characters that are purposely strong (Furina, Neuvillette, Lyney), or fit well in their niche (Navia, Wriothesley, and soon to be Xianyun) One of the best ways they can improve older characters is release new characters that mesh well together.
The characters that have been strong and relevant for years are still strong and relevant, it’s the fringe characters that get hit the hardest by power creep
Neuvillette is quickly becoming my favorite character to play, but I still have a soft spot for Raiden, one of my previous mains. When her banner first released, I was extremely lucky in pulling her and her signature weapon without even reaching pity. Now that her Banner is back, I just pulled her C2. So my plan now is to make a couple teams dedicated to Neuvillette and Raiden specifically. My Neuvillette team has Fischl, Venti, and Kirara, while I'm going for a Rational team for Raiden. My Sara is C3, I don't have Kazuha or Chevreuse, and I lost my 50/50 on Furina's banner, so I don't have her either. So Raiden's Hypercarry teams are not available atm. Raiden's current banner upgraded my Bennett to C5 (he was C0 previously), and I picked up a Xiangling with Starglitter. Then if course, Lantern Rite offers XQ. So I'm all set for Rational.
They don't really powercreep top units - rather they "comfort creep". Kazuha is barely better than Sucrose, but much easier to play. Neuvillette allows even complete noobs obtain power levels of meta teams like Alhaitham Hyperbloom or International, but at C0R0 his teams don't massively outperform them against non-pyro content. Chevreuse allows people to use overload teams without needing to do complex double-swirl rotations, but again not massively powercreeping anemo supports. etc.
@sarettodn5708 He is massively better when his grouping advantage is needed or when you have a proper on-fielder. When I got him, my best chamber 12 clear times with XQ Xiangling and Bennett did not improve over Sucrose. The consistency improved. So for example if with Sucrose I could clear a chamber in 60-90 secs, with Kazuha I could do it in 70-80 secs and it was much easier. But tbh, without Childe Sucrose was kind of better when everything aligned perfectly (she is an on-fielder after all)
yeaa i think i agree with this most. keeping in mind what hoyo said about endgame, i think they won’t make abyss specifically harder (unless they will idk), so to powercreep characters, they make them comfier to use, meaning it’s easier to get full value out of them (easier to build, more accessible teams, etc.). my fave comfort character is still zhongli, since his buffs are unconditional when you have his shield, so i only really need him on hp build.
my 2nd account got Neuvi c1 and now noticeably outperforms my main acc that is more than a half a year older. And my Neuvi still even lacks good artifacts or a 5* weapon. Neuvi has damage, he has survivability, he has self healing (which also means he works great with Furina), smooth rotation, ease of play, basically - everything you could ever want. The only time he struggles is when i need to fight water resistant enemies. 2nd account is now a dedicated Neuvi playground.
I'm so happy with my C1R1 Neuvillette, and none of my other characters can hold a candle him, especially since he's the only character I have used a crown on, and he has made clear times on the Abyss side I use him on give me enough breathing room to make 36 staring the Abyss with my other characters feel more feasible. Best I've done is 35 stars with only 15 seconds keeping me from my last star, but before that, I struggled to get to floor 12, let alone with full stars.
I think they do a really good job that powercreep doesn’t feel bad. Older build characters are able to clear the abyss. I worry more about the fact that we get more and more events with less primos as a reward
Genshin recycles it's content, even the power levels, so I'd say it's not powercreep but they power lift forgotten or unused characters. Tbh the only powercreep that's not even one, it's Furina, bc she rises the dmg ceilings of everyone.
I'm going to make a counterpoint that we've been here before, it was Inazuma in general mostly Raiden Kazuha Ayaka, but if you look at it now people have calmed from the hype, or in other cases certain characters got serious ways to build teams (new supports etc) that elevated them again. Very very similar to that era we feel it more because of the current abyss, which we had the same thing happen around early half of 2.0+ era where it was repeatedly tailored extremely well for new 5* characters. Eventually people realized none of this was be all end all, although new comps and character buffs helped this. What i would say about Fontaine is they nailed character purpose more, the way they play, this doesn't make them better imo but it makes building and using them more intuitive, and for casual players way less chance of having any odd feelings like with Ayato when you realize what he actually specializes at (all about his ult. idc if Zajeff said otherwise originally) Childe with a good nuke build and busted Xiangling beside him I'm pretty certain still can beat out Neuvi for low constellation investment, and Ayatos synergy for AoE comps (not relevant right now, but surely can be again) namely in Nilou bloom but also Freeze comps with Venti still scales, the difference is nobody pulled these characters originally for these purposes with Neuvillette you know exactly what your getting, a big dong watergun dragon of a man who does exactly what you thought. Also why roll any of these dudes if you don't care for them Yelan is still crazy as ever. Oh also Sucrose is still better then Kazuha in most comps lower investment players would use the two as either or situation, shes just harder to use, greedier for field time, doesn't make Kazuha bad i prefer his style of buffing and play but people still cling to him as a true example of powercreep incorrectly like crazy. I'd conclude with saying we do have some creep but its usability creep, and hes top tier example of that as are most if not all the new Fontaine characters. Neuvillette should be more compared as a Archon style character imo, and in that regard I'm not going to say hes more useful or amazing then Nahida still can be or especially was back when she came out, its just on field single character vs off field supportive.
I mained Phys Keqing before 4.3 mostly due to hilariously bad rolls - now I main Navia. For anyone who's had C4+ Nationals for a while but nobody to really tie it together, Navia is ridiculous. Click for 120k+ on command after a week of farming. Crazy.
Powercreep is the general trend of new characters being better than old character and its best exemplified if a character that was considered strong at one point is strictly worse than a newer character. This doesnt have to happen for power creep to have occured

I have been skipping characters for a while now simply because I'm not even happy yet with the build of the ones I pulled previously, so yeah, pulling have been meaning less and less for me with time, this is one of the reasons I have always been in favor of vertical investment.
I love the idea of furina being Omega Giga zoomer turbo broken as she is because that means that whatever you throw in with her will also be! Ngl I was gonna be an Eula simp REGARDLESS since I got her in 3.8 but the difference of playing her with Raiden(c2), Zhongli and Bennett to play her with Raiden, Furina(c1) and Mika(c2) is HUUUUGE, Furina really made my favorite character become even more favorite! And I will atribute this to the fact that Furina is omegabroken while being off field, unlike Neuvillette who would feel like he overcrept your Ayato/childe/maindps because he takes the whole field for himself, Furina really is the best character ever made in a sense. Cant wait to get her C2 + weapon next rerun
Honestly powercreep has been in the game forever - it just hasn't been *characters*. Weapons and especially artifact sets have been getting powercrept for years. Like look back at 2.0 and tell me Emblem of Severed Fate wasn't an absolutely massive upgrade for any character that deals most of their damage with their burst.
sort of agree, we can’t really know the future, but for example, fischl’s 4pc set in the beginning were not really better than 2pc 2pc, but now her uncontested best set for skill is 4pc golden troupe
Does the artifact & weapon powercreep really matter? It hardly affects the older characters, and the newer ones have their kits designed around them from the very beginning. Besides, it's not like you have to pay for the good artifacts. It's the characters that are the main problem, seeing your favourite character falling off or just being lackluster in the first place is just plain terrible and disheartening.
I think the biggest reason for perceived power creep in Genshin is often a misunderstanding and lack of knowledge of certain units and roles within the game from the community as a whole

As a Welkin player who has been playing for about 1.5 years now, I have started going for constellations instead of more characters for a lot of the reasons you outlined. Unless I really love a character, it just isn’t worth the investment to build them when I can just save those wishes for someone I really, really like and make them even more powerful.
I would say furina power crep very support in the game because her damage buff is universal that she fits in almost every team possible if not every team. The fact that she provides a buff that it would take two units to provide already says alot but hoyo had to give her a down side which is needing a healer to take up another slot but if that healer as you said can bring something else to the team then we can come to some idea that furina gives you essentially 4 slots of supports in a hyper team for the carry or in a example navia team it would be possible to run Ben-xl. If you're able to cycle through your team good enough to keep everyone topped up you essential have 2 Bens on your team at that point with the buffs that navia and xl would get
In similar fashion to vertical investment, one of the biggest gripes in Genshin right now is the "artifact powercreep". It's laughable how big the gap between the best set and the second option now. This wasn't the case 2 years ago except some notable exceptions (Raiden and to lesser extent, Ayaka at the time). Fontaine's artifacts are just miles better than the older ones, and you know how painful artifact farming is. I'm not having fun farming that Golden+Mare domains for two/three months now. It's kinda tiring to dedicate myself to just get that one good sands artifacts that never come.
Yep, I’m haunted by the Husk artifacts on my Noelle and Albedo that I spent most of last January farming. Funny enough I’m farming Emblem of Severed Fate right now because I’ve taken a liking to a bunch of burst dependent characters.
Given the Archons have supportive role and now we have Neuvi setting the standard as the first Dragon Sovereign main DPS , Hoyo might already have the same pattern set for future Sovereigns. Question is how they gonna balance or step up from Neuvi. Given that pyro resonance buffs ATK, Pyro Sovereign (if playable) might have ATK buffing main DPS kit or the BiS artifacts might do it. Bennett might be even more stellar in Natlan teams. Let see what Natlan has to offer ❤
I only ever get C0 period. If I really like a character then I will go for cons on rerun banners. But I refuse to fall victim to FOMO. I also couldnt care less about abyss. I am satisfied with 3 stars on floor 11. Floor 12 is bait and optional imho. I also refuse to spend money on this game. Same with HSR.
Hsr is where I find it hard to keep up. I cant clear things unless I have the proper element because all enemies have shields like im fighting abyss mage using incorrect element without having the opportunity to break its shield.
I wonder if the crazy buffing of hydro characters is because of how close we are to Snezhnaya and a bunch of characters who will just slap hydro. In Snezhnaya, you'll basically be running with pyro and electro teams 90% of the time so the focus on overload makes complete sense.
the only powercreeping here is neuvillete. No one else really did much powercreeping imo. Like Lyney is restrictive, Navia has the worst range, Furina doesnt have enough good team healers. Im trynna keep it real

I think she's going to be an overload DPS. Besides, Cyno was never the best electro DPS but he's still solid despite that, and Yae is mostly a strong sub DPS

for me Neuvi is the only character feels too op , he has no downside at all ,lyney need to be in full pyro team, navia need a geo pair and crystalize mechanic, furina is strong but she needs team wide healer but neuvi can just solo which is i dont like , if he is cryo do this beam of death, it wouldn't be this bad the fact is he is hydro and doing sooo much damage make me feel like why im building other characters, he is practically good on any sort of domain and with elemental checks you cant restrict hydro so much because its really important element. He never require a team to shine even though it feels that way. I love the team building and still relevance of the old characters that what I love about the game . There is no pvp but the fact some one can beat your DPS output with a one single character makes the game boring and makes you wonder why to build any other characters. They should have made him to required a healer or to be in a mono hydro team like a team player not like he is the whole team . I will stop ranting
Im a destiny player who came to genshin about 2 years ago now, so i have experience playing the same content for years. I enjoy the endless upgrades and the constant goals if build these chars but also manage your resources. I mike that no matter what i can be doing something more to make my characters better at any given time
I dont think they powercreep but rather upgraded a certain playstyle.. the hypercarry playstyle.. I think the only powercreep is Navia because we already have a geo hypercarry with Itto.. Neuvillette has no proper competition because the only other hydro hypercarry I can think of is Ayato and he isnt necessarily a hypercarry but rather a flex pick.. you can argue Lyney powercrept Yoimiya in terms of pyro hypercarry but he still isnt better than Hu Tao..
I think having neuvilette is the same level having zhongli, he's pretty much easy to build, very strong character at c0 and very easy to play like there's no extra steps how to min max the damage. And also his survivability is pretty high since he can heals from the water droplets.. Yea surely he did powercreep Ayato by a lot..
You're right about Beeing hard to keep up. I'm an occasional welkin buyer with terrible luck when it comes to pulls and I still always feel behind when it comes to building characters I want to build. It takes so many resources to get the character up to endgame standard and before you can you already have another character.

I play coop most of the time and I one time almost rage quit when an AR56 player with an underbuilt Nuevellette out dpsed all the characters I've been building for years. This is just messed up. So, if you are a player like me that wants to have a strong account, there is literrily no reason to pull for any character other than Neuvillette. He powercreeps every other dps in every situation - He is good at aoe content, - Good at single target, - He is hydro basically best element in the game. - Can hit flying enemies. - Can heal himself, - He almost has no downtime on his skill - Probably the most braindead character to use. You name it. Do you know the worst part is? If they go down the powercreep path, Nuivellette will get powercrept in the future too. This puts the players in an endless cycle of unsatisfaction with their characters. This is why I despise powercreep in games.
I am a welkin and that is all that I use, and I got Ayato, Ayaka, Navia, and Yoimiya already I've never lost a 50/50, and I'm really happy with my choices, but I also feel that I can literally never pull another DPS character again, because I'll never be able to build them
I was pretty crap at this game up until AR 55 when Neuvillette came out. I was using Tighnari as my main DPS as he was literally my only good DPS, so I made a choice to save all my primos for a choice DPS. Banners came and went but I stayed strong, finally saving nearly 200 wishes. Once Neuvillette came out I went nuts, I got him first then immediately went for his weapon and got it first try. Once I built him up a bit he quickly became my strongest character, easily surpassing Tighnari's damage output. Once I was more familiar with his kit I decided C1 would be a great addition to his damage output and versatility, and managed to win my 50/50 for his C1. Neuvillette completely turned my account and gaming experience around, now I was able to confidently stride into any battle, explore wherever at a decent pace, not constantly getting caught in long battles. Not having much experience with the game I didn't realize just how strong he was compared to other units, and now with 45 CR and 290 CD he just wipes the floor with everything.
Have used C1 Ganyu as basically my only dps since she came out because I stopped playing between original Eula banner and Furina. Game reset my accumulated pity in that time. Lost 50/50 Furina to Jean, got Navia, then Dehya, Yoimiya, Chevreuse, Diluc, and Raiden in that order. It's thousands resin to farm for Ascension and talent material, tens of millions of Mora, and I haven't even started any artifacts. On top of that, a new or returning player like me has to do hundreds of hours of questing to even unlock craftable weapons, the necessary domains, and every boss required. The game is extremely unfriendly to new or returning players.
I can’t wait to get Neuv/Wriothesley/furina/alhaitham. I might be waiting awhile :(( but the joy I got from Wriothesley’s trial in the sword Fontaine event rn was the best feeling ever.
Do you remember the first powercreep? Ganyu's launch. Until then, Diluc was the strongest, and Childe was not that good at time. Ganyu basically outdamage every other character... Then came Hu Tao kkkkkkkkk
I feel like at the welkin and maybe battle pass level, you can go for one c2r1 per region and one c0r0, maybe getting lucky and snagging a rerun character or two. Thankfully most regions weren’t more tempting than that. I don’t envy your channel having to build every character, there just isn’t enough resin for every character to be built. I saved to be able to do just Furina and Navia and day 1 ascend them, have only built charlotte otherwise and am tapped out of resources at this point.
Thats how they get you, I just wanted a few xq cons building pity on Neuvillette's banner and got him on the very first pull in the first ten pull and now basically main him. Hope you have as much fun with your raiden too!
Lyney considerably outclasses Klee (and in some scenarios even Hu Tao) in DPS and DPR . I feel like people underrate how much buffing and frontload he gets from Furina compared to the other two, combined with having access to XL for better aoe and not having to do stricter rotations or weird swirl setups for vv vape. I wouldn't call it powercreep tho, since he can suffer from not being able to use a shielder without losing lots of damage.
And that's the thing. Lyney (especially on paper) is stronger. But in practice not a lot of people can do this. I remember when Jstern talked (in one of his podcasts) everyone to play Furina + Lyney and in the end: All for them saw the potential but they also overall agreed that playing this team can be such of an hassle that they prefer the other teams much more. And this is a good trade off. This is why Lyney is such an perfectly balanced unit and doesn't powercreep Klee to the ground while being overall stronger. His gameplay has issues but the trade off is more damage. While Klee isn't super easy to use she has more ways to dodge withtout losing a bunch of damage. But her damage is overall worse than Lyney.

These are some great points. I think so long as they keep the content at the current level and don't make things absurdly difficult with stupidly high HP AND lethality (3.6 and 3.7 abysses were really concerning...), then there really isn't too much issue. But it really puts things into perspective when older characters need so much more investment, yet there is no compensation or catch-up to make up for that. Not really sure what hoyo can do with this with their refusal to retrospectively look at older characters and improve them directly. There's only so much that new supports and game mechanics etc. can do to elevate old characters like what Dendro did, at a certain point raw numerical scalings are going to become an issue.
I understand your concern but there is really no chance Hoyo directly buff their older characters. They have never done it in their lifetime except Zhongli but he has many reason to that. Plus new support and mechanic have been really effective. Hu tao, ganyu is still the very best
Neuv definitely spoiled me. I quit playing when Raiden first ever released and maybe did like 2 commissions in between then and fontaine's release. Nobody feels as strong and probably never will with my terrible artifact luck. Still enjoy playing other characters, especially Raiden since I finally have her now.
Saw Lyney in the thumbnail, and I had to click. All the characters of fontaine have been baseline good, save perhaps Freminet, and even he isnt that bad, physical just inst great. Lynette is a solid anemo support and atk buffer, Charlotte is an excellent healer and team mate to Furina, Chevie can rival kazuha buff at c0, Furina is...well, Furina. Same with Neuvillette, he's insanity. Lyney amd Navia are both huge nuke dps's that have managed to outclass their elements by a margin. Wrio is also a good dps, especially with c1. I wouldn't say he powercrept but hes very good. I'm lucky since I like all the fontaine characters, Lyney in particular is my all time fave. I have them all except Wrio and Charlotte, hope to get them all at some point. Probably going to have to skip some banners for Lyney c2 and Neuvillette c1
Amazing video! I think it's crazy how everyone was hating on the hyperbloom reaction for it being broken and saying "hmph it's a reaction for lazy people that goes against everything blah blah blah" but at the same time everyone was head over heels for neuvilette for being too broken?? Like make it make sense!! I think they were just sad a small flower was doing more damage than their waifu, lol. What's more, not everyone's gonna have neuvi, but literally everyone can have acess to the hyperbloom reaction.
I am at the point where I’m planning for constellations. I have enough characters for team and gameplay diversity and always stick to my faves leaving most benched. I’ll definitely still get the occasional new character if I really enjoy their design or gameplay but I’m at the point where I just want to push my current characters. Plus if I have to keep farming new domains and materials constantly I’m going to burn out and leave the game again so wishing for my cons on already built characters is actually way more enjoyable for me currently. Same goes for weapons. I’ve only gone for kazuha and furina cons so far but they both proved the extra investment to be worth it on my account so now I’m aiming for nahida’s c1 and c2
Sumeru was also powercreep because of how strong hyperbloom was. Also aggravate teams were in a lot of cases stronger than vape/melt comps. During sumeru - eula, ganyu, klee, yoimiya, itto, zhongli, diona and sucrose just fell off and became irrelevant in the meta. And yes, before sumeru these characters were considered at least decent to very good characters, just look up any tierlist
Sucrose never fell off. I used her every Sumeru Abyss until I got Kazuha in 3.7. The problem with Sucrose is she actually takes a little bit of skill/game knowledge compared to for example Raiden Shogun where you just build the character and press buttons to win. So Sucrose will always be unpopular with most of player base. Also most of the units on your list got a pretty decent buff with Furina. Doesn't make them meta but good enough for f2ps to comfortably clear Abyss 12 (whereas in the past only meta teams could clear for f2ps)

Same with kazuha, he buffs characters so that they seem better than they are. Mono elemental teams is where kazuha finds most success. @@Zarya. Do you remember her launch? TC's absolutely shat on her. Who exactly rated her A before sumeru? Yoi was always ST locked, needed a shielder for her combos and didn't have enough ST damage to compensate. At most some people started to consider her "not bad" before Sumeru launch, because her range became moderately useful. But Yoi had never stepped into meta. During her launch people had written entire dessertations in reddit why she was god awful, ala Dehya. She wasn't anywhere as bad as Dehya so it became forgotten quickly, but she isn't what I would consider meta unit that got powercrept.
Not arguing with anything, you are right, just some observations: I have accepted the fact that some units want their c1-c2 r1 to get the full potential of their kit. Its a gacha game, it is what it is. But this pattern has been prevalent over a long time. Hu Tao, Yelan, Cyno, to name a few. they gain SO much from that early investment, you never want to go back. Some units are very good/complete at c0. Alhaitham, Nilou, Lyney, Navia. Investment always good, but it is not required. And from the latest cast, Neuvilette feels great to play even at baseline, imo the biggest c1r1 bait is Wriothesley :D He becomes an incredible carry, even if made for melt, he benched my mistsplitter Ayaka in her freeze completely. I would put him over Neuvilette in terms of investment bait, hands down
Someone finally said it. Thank you. It's so obvious. "Well you don't need Nuvilette, he's just another DPS." Yeah that can solo spiral at C0. You'll have a way easier time with him just starting out than literally any other character.
tbf ayato was never really that good even before neuv came out. he was still a good pull since he was hydro and therefore has good teams but as an on-fielder he was just ok. he's always been interchangeable with other hydros and also never been a BiS in great teams. it really doesn't take much to clearly outclass him.
Ayato soup is still quite good? Best at killing repeatedly respawning enemies like the battle events but only quite good at everything else. There is also ayato in nilou bloom as well. Every other team do feel bad for ayato in comparison to other similar teams though.
Like you say at the end, it doesn't matter right now because you can still clear abyss with nearly any units, from old favorites to wonky trial and error teams to ultra min/max. Powercreep is bad in honkai impact as a comparison, where not only do they release better units but also create bosses for those units and phase out old ones. And also a large portion of your crystal income comes from basically a competitive abyss, where its your clear time vs other players, so you're incentivized to spend, especially if you're in higher tiers.
Yeah, I have the problem where I wanna pull for so many charactars but the resources I have is so limited since I started in 4.0, I literally have navia and nuevillette at level 50 because I still have a whole other team that have like 0 artifacts but they’re levelled and their talents to my desired wants, it’s crazy how much investment 1 character needs and how long it takes to get good enough artifacts for them to be usable at best
I built several low-investment teams and the truth is I was left far behind in the abyss, even in events where I couldn't get the highest score or surpass it. When I invested in Neuvilette I discovered another reality. Nowadays, the truth is I prefer to have a few characters that I like and give them investment than to have many characters with little investment.
About building as a new player, I'm playing for 10 months, I managed to build a great diversity of characters, but I bought the favor and BP on 8 months + I grinded most of the content. I managed to get a dozen of 5 stars, and build a lot of lvl 80 and a few 90 on 5 and 4 stars. When I build, I feel like I'm always behind and I still do not have +20 artifacts (only main stat and sets) on most of my characters. I takes a f long time and if I had a job this year, I would never be able to catchup like I did.
Sigwine might powercreep kokomi since she’s hydro healer likely working better with furina and reactions and clordine will either yae, keqing or maybe even raiden since she’s an energy unit polearm…and who knows with the knave and cryo archon smhh 😢

One thing I forgot to mention is people might think hyperbloom powercrept things. And I do think it’s a factor. In fact I made a whole video on it here. I think you could say it powecrept the floor, rather than the ceiling, and brought a lot of worse units up. Similar to what I said about Furina except Furina also powercreep ceiling lol. Your videos overselling Furina. She is not really above other character. She is not weak but not the uncontested best character how ur videos shows her. (For c0 f2p or wekin lvl investment).

In my opinion I think Neuvillette is the only one I consider true power creep. Other characters have different enough quirks in their kit that can really make or break a lot of strong teams in very situations. Meanwhile Neuvillette wins as long as the enemies aren’t hydro 💀

@@skyfires4499 C0R0 Neuvillette vape team calced 90k dps if you can manage to vape off guoba. (still vastly easier than sukokumon) You can just run fischl against cyro and layla/ganyu against electro or something if you don't want to work for it. At C3R1+ speedruns the other characters don't even get swapped out in most wave because it is a time loss, so you can fit another entire team in with no time loss at all.
Current speedrun at 24seconds combined for all 3 chambers in 2nd half. He also clears top half hydro enemy in under a minute combined, being able to slot in hutao and xiangling in the remaining team slots only to swap out for chamber 3.

@@Ronttt Wrio is busted af on his melt teams at C0, and is a one man army at C1 just like Neuv, but he excels at single target dmg whereas Neuv at AoE.
He is also top 3 characters to do solo runs with at C1, his self sustain and never ending DPS Windows is crazy, dude has basically no downtime on his DPS, even solo Neuv has to take a small break when everything is on CD and no orbs, having to manually charge his CA which takes ages.
People don't talk much about Wrio cause he becomes busted at C1, when he coulda been that at C0, but Hoyo messed up there.
But don't be fooled to think he is weak. He is already the king of melt, whereas Ayaka the Queen of freeze, Ganyu can do both but doesnt excel at one.
I also think people won't give him the title of best cryo DPS in the game cause his direct competition, Ayaka has a massive fanbase, but me personally I think he already surpasses Ayaka, due to how flexible he is, you can run every team with this guy, melt, freeze, mono, dendro, he does it all whereas Ayaka is locked to play freeze (but she is the best at that).
I could be biased cause he is one of my mains, but also I do know all his strenghts and his only one weakness very well. Dude hasnt let me down once in abyss ever since I got him, and gave me impressive abyss clearing personal records that I couldnt do with other chars.

@@alexferrier5732 I agree. Even if you don't activate his elemental skill his charged attack brings an absolute power punch. What I like is that I don't need to sprint just to apply Cryo in weapons or wait for 10 seconds for elemental skill. And additionally I don't need to plunge just to mine ores, I could just beat the crap out of it.
I truly think Neuvilette is the only true powercreep character. Its kinda hard to powercreep supports when they all do specific things, even furina relys on healers. Neuv is just unconditional damage with insane self sustain and aoe. His goal is strictly damage and he beats everyone at it. There are teams that can probably match him but as a standalone unit hes absolutely busted and powercreep incarnate.

Furina's personnal damages are so huge and her buff is so big that her value is 1.5 character in one even when you count her need of a healer

Neuvillette is literally the Hydro Sovereign. That's literally what he was designed and written to be. People cry about him being power creep, but the only character archetype of similar power we will get like him is another Sovereign. (Or perhaps another descender like Phanes or something, which are are supposedly more powerful than the Sovereigns)

Powercreep is inevitable, but im glad it took this long to start making an appearance.
Also i do like the fact that you made a point about how early constellations have more value now than ever, because for f2p it's sorta like who cares.
Obviously some 5 stars perform better than other's innately, but i would make a generalization and say most 5 star units at C0 with f2p/bp weapons dont perform too absurdly out of reach of eachother.
It really is only when u start looking at the signature weapons and constellations when it shows how "optimal" the stats have gotten for these things.
I am excited for the route Fontaine is taking with breaking standard team philosophy.
(Mono Pyro, True Hydro Carry, conditional buffer via external healer, weaponizing crystallize, overload synergy)
Cant wait to see what the latter half of 4.x will be setting up in terms of meta, im guessing self applied character infusion (Bennett Burst, Jean Burst, Dori Burst) purely because of that new BP Claymore that makes no goddamm sense rn, but im optimistic about my idea.

@sutkonos he's not breaking the philosophy of Mono Pyro, he's just designed to be played in Mono Pyro to the point of making Pyro's strongest reactions (Melt and Vaporize) obsolete on him, and by far is the best on fielder for a Mono Pyro team.
Mono Pyro for awhile wasn't a mainstream teamcomp, it was viable, but it wasn't mainstream like Vaporize, Freeze, Hyperbloom.

Powercreep is a natural progression for basically every live service game. The expectation should never be "this character is so good that it is impossible to powercreep." Even with genshin, there had been many times a specific unit was greatly hyped just for mihoyo to bait people with the new "best." If you are ever fixated with pulling the "most meta" units, do know that Neuvillette will eventually become a stepping stone for the new "best," just like ganyu, raiden, and alhaitham.
Yeah, I started to see some peoples and videos trashing Ayaka, which would've been unbelievable 2 or 1 years ago.
I think come Natlan or Snezhnaya at most, Neuvillette will experience the same thing.
Raiden is an Archon, and Neuvillette is a Sovereign. Not really comparable

@@Mr_DE_0395except dendro teams have the majority of their dmg coming out of double hydro/alhaitham/electro units. abyss has gotten harder over the years, the problem is artifact quality has also gone up a lot. better artifacts + better characters make the abyss easier, but I know for a fact you mfs are those who cried about “cringe enemies” when the difficulty goes up a bit.
Neuv dmg would not be considered insane if he was single target character but the fact that he can cover the whole floor of abyss is just stupid. C0 R1 Neuv can solo abyss as long as the enemy isn't resistance to hydro which considered as near impossible before with few exception and his full team is not only super powerful but also extremely flexible
I don't mind having new character breaking record as long as they have their drawback like Hu Tao struggling in AOE scenario while managing her HP or Xiao and Ganyu being rather clunky and have their own issue while Neuv is just OP against anything that is not hydro res
I recall there was a point in beta when Neuv couldnt move while using the beam, only rotate, but testers said he felt very clunky. That was the perfect weakness for him, his AoE wouldnt feel as powerful if he could only rotate since he wouldnt been able to re-align himself in the enemy direction, but he would still have retained some AoE capabilities.
But hey, blame the testers who didnt think it was ridiculous that a character that had massive single target dmg also had massive AoE capabilities.

Tbf, a lot of 1.x characters do have dogshit Constellations. Venti, Zhongli, Childe and even Hutao outside her C1 have pretty underwhelming cons.
as far as abyss is concerned, they'll definitely make it hard during 4.5-4.8 versions. Its usually during the start of new region(4.0-4.4) they make it easy for new players, during later half of versions when everyone has built the new units and good units have had reruns, they'll make it hard again.

I really appreciate that you recommended new players focus on getting their favorite characters and building those characters' best teams. As someone who plays gacha games wanting to be able to play the characters I'm actually fond of, it always feels bad when meta players imply I'm playing the game less seriously because I'm not just trying to play the most meta units all the time.
Genshin still allows you to clear with older units, but I’d caution against trying that with other software that is gacha first, game second.
With Genshin, I can at least be relatively sure that if I continue building my Ayato despite Neuvilette (and more later) existing, I’ll still be able to use him in the 6.0 Abyss if he’s upgraded to his non-whale ceiling.
A gacha app (I won’t call it a game) that died a while back had such hilariously bad powercreep that every second patch you’d look for a rerolling guide if you weren’t a whale but still wanted to clear the content. You restart your account from zero and try to luck out on the newest unit, then auto-battle faceroll all the way to the newest story bits. The new stuff had 25% to 100% better numerical performance than the old stuff because it was forcing addicts to pull latest each time: my hard mode capable setup from before couldn’t clear a story mission in the new patch in normal mode when I quit.

I argue that powercreep is more like a supply problem; it's effectively dropping the price of a certain level of power by introducing more available account power for a certain amount of pulls; given that there's no objective, long-term in-game demand for that increased power (ie. higher game difficulty, more modes - think Pure Fiction in HSR) - any problem perceived is really based on relative ranking (ie. player anxiety), which is more of a tautological existence (there will always be some1 who is SSS tier at any point)

I think Furina is actually the biggest powercreep we have experienced. As much as she has elevated so many of my teams, all of those teams now feel bad to play without her.
I still value Zhong Li and Diona, having some of the most safe ways of not being one shotted, just feels too great in abyss
@Bluzlbee yea I can understand that IF you already have the dps you need from your other 3 characters, but a lot of people can not afford to drop their dps for a comfy pick.
But a lot of Furina teams involve a set-up that was never good before her release. Like nobody was playing Jean and Baizhu until she came around.
At least Furina is a universal support so she boosts a ton of characters even really old ones. Different from a primary DPS unit that can solo damage output entire teams while requiring zero skill (spin2win neuvilette)

about constellation investment and banner sales: Mihoyo is fully aware of it that if a very powerfull constellation is early avaible it leads to more pulls. A prime example is Furina where in the beta her C6 got swapped with her C2.
I think re-tuning older characters to keep up should be standard practice. I get why they don't do it, proft-wise, but for the sake of the health of the game, it should be done regularly. Also, the enemies behavior and stats/resistances should be modified to address the sudden appearance of broken characters. Don't nerf characters. Ever. Just creep everything else up to their level.

Sadly this rarely happens in the gacha title game. Because they don't see any value in doing it financially wise. Better drop a new unit and milked from that. Unlike moba, fps, rts style competitive game. Which needs balancing as the game progresses

You know, another crazy thing that's happened with Fontaine characters especially, is that the sound and visual design of their abilities end up making them FEEL much enjoyable and impressive to play as well. Like, the particle effects, the hum of power, and the rune being drawn in front of Neuvillette as his charges up his hydro cannon just look and feels cool as hell. Chevruese's gunshot while she yells "Last chance!" feels more impactful when you let that explosive charge fly. All the other bursts, explosions, thumps, rain of damage, particle effect and general visual and audible impact that actually changes the looks of the character and battlefield as you play also heavily influences how fun something seems in the moment.
Fontaine characters seem to be on another level when it comes to that visceral impact, though maybe that's just me. It's not something I can actually apply any real numerical value to and those things are heavily dependent on your aesthetic sense, but... certainly feels like it's on a different level to me...

Yep, thats what I feel when I play Wrio, his punch sound effects are so satisfying, also his animations are amazing, dude came up with a full new moveset (boxing) which is definitely out of the main 5 archetypes (bow, greatsword, sword, spear, catalyst), very few characters are out of those archetypes like Childe (daggers), Heizou (martial arts), Kaz, Raiden and Ayaka (katana), Neuv (beam) from the top of my mind.
It hurts me to see that fontaine character are this good. I'm not spending much on the game (only welkin and sometimes bp) but over three years of playing I managed to get c6r4 xiao and c6 venti. I knew that theirs constellations are not really worth it, but they're my favourite characters and i wanted to build them as strong as possible. And i get sad when I realise that all those investments gave me just a little bit of dps increase while new characters are broken just at c0r1
early chars have really bad cons, but if you like anemo boys scaramouche's cons are worth investing. and xiao will get a big buff next patch.

Yeah. I buy Welkin and the BP and was able to get almost all Fontaine characters with that. Little did I know that I wouldn’t be able to use all of them because I ran out of resources reaaaally quickly, despite playing every day. That’s such a no-go for me. They add features that make it easier for you to determine which artifacts to use and how to build characters AND THEN YOU DON‘T HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DO IT. A big chunk of the problem are the randomized artifacts. You just don‘t get very far with a day‘s amount of resin and that’s so frustrating…
Yeah.. honestly having to build characters has made me too lazy to pull for them. The first time this happened was with cyno. I really liked him, but I did not want to collect scarabs. Especially when I still had others to build and they had easier materials to gather

It will be scary to think what Natlan will be like, and we have more characters to come out. Clorande, arlachino, chiori, and more coming in Fontaine. I am loving the difference in each characters play styles, it is awesome to see how more unique and less played teams come in to meta.
MHY is probably setting up a stage for future Sovereign Dragons to become the peak on-field DPS. Archons are usually the best at supporting/damaging without needing significant field time. I expected that the Harbringers will fill the on-field spot but it seems like it is not the case with the currently released Harbringers.
My perspective is that when I pull a character, if that particular character is getting benched in the future, it feels like a really bad investment, its 180 pulls to gurantee ONE CHARACTER. I feel a particular joy hyper investing in my characters, especially getting their premium team rather than going for constellations since they feel like bait to spend money (I'm a welkin only player).
I couldn't care less how good Nuevelette is, I will never go for him because he's way too boring. I'd rather hyper invest in my favorite characters. I already did that with C6 R5 Furina, C6 R1 Navia (eventually R5), C6 R1 Raiden (also eventually R5) C6 R1 Kokomi, and I'll be getting C6 R5 Clorinde, the Pyro Archon to C6 R5, the Cryo Archon to C6 R5 and Nahida to C6 R5 eventually. Yelan will also eventually be C6 R5 and I'm not wishing on anyone but my favorites anymore. I'll be skipping a majority of banners just so I can hyper invest in a few characters instead of going for a bunch of characters
it was about time. the same characters have been at a decent level for years now and only now it feels like characters are straight up better. but i like how theres still a purpose to older characters at least in the sense that they feel different to play and have unique mechanics. i just hope that like we stay at this new power level for a while instead of constantly going up in power cuz that would be bad imo
People cry about power level in Fontaine cycle. But that's only because they are releasing characters that are purposely strong (Furina, Neuvillette, Lyney), or fit well in their niche (Navia, Wriothesley, and soon to be Xianyun) One of the best ways they can improve older characters is release new characters that mesh well together.
The characters that have been strong and relevant for years are still strong and relevant, it’s the fringe characters that get hit the hardest by power creep

I don't think it makes much sense to compare Ayato with Neuvillette, Ayato wasn't a very good character even when he first came out.
Neuvillette is quickly becoming my favorite character to play, but I still have a soft spot for Raiden, one of my previous mains. When her banner first released, I was extremely lucky in pulling her and her signature weapon without even reaching pity. Now that her Banner is back, I just pulled her C2.
So my plan now is to make a couple teams dedicated to Neuvillette and Raiden specifically. My Neuvillette team has Fischl, Venti, and Kirara, while I'm going for a Rational team for Raiden. My Sara is C3, I don't have Kazuha or Chevreuse, and I lost my 50/50 on Furina's banner, so I don't have her either. So Raiden's Hypercarry teams are not available atm. Raiden's current banner upgraded my Bennett to C5 (he was C0 previously), and I picked up a Xiangling with Starglitter. Then if course, Lantern Rite offers XQ. So I'm all set for Rational.
They don't really powercreep top units - rather they "comfort creep". Kazuha is barely better than Sucrose, but much easier to play. Neuvillette allows even complete noobs obtain power levels of meta teams like Alhaitham Hyperbloom or International, but at C0R0 his teams don't massively outperform them against non-pyro content. Chevreuse allows people to use overload teams without needing to do complex double-swirl rotations, but again not massively powercreeping anemo supports. etc.
@sarettodn5708 He is massively better when his grouping advantage is needed or when you have a proper on-fielder. When I got him, my best chamber 12 clear times with XQ Xiangling and Bennett did not improve over Sucrose. The consistency improved. So for example if with Sucrose I could clear a chamber in 60-90 secs, with Kazuha I could do it in 70-80 secs and it was much easier. But tbh, without Childe Sucrose was kind of better when everything aligned perfectly (she is an on-fielder after all)
yeaa i think i agree with this most. keeping in mind what hoyo said about endgame, i think they won’t make abyss specifically harder (unless they will idk), so to powercreep characters, they make them comfier to use, meaning it’s easier to get full value out of them (easier to build, more accessible teams, etc.). my fave comfort character is still zhongli, since his buffs are unconditional when you have his shield, so i only really need him on hp build.
my 2nd account got Neuvi c1 and now noticeably outperforms my main acc that is more than a half a year older. And my Neuvi still even lacks good artifacts or a 5* weapon. Neuvi has damage, he has survivability, he has self healing (which also means he works great with Furina), smooth rotation, ease of play, basically - everything you could ever want. The only time he struggles is when i need to fight water resistant enemies. 2nd account is now a dedicated Neuvi playground.
I'm so happy with my C1R1 Neuvillette, and none of my other characters can hold a candle him, especially since he's the only character I have used a crown on, and he has made clear times on the Abyss side I use him on give me enough breathing room to make 36 staring the Abyss with my other characters feel more feasible. Best I've done is 35 stars with only 15 seconds keeping me from my last star, but before that, I struggled to get to floor 12, let alone with full stars.
I think they do a really good job that powercreep doesn’t feel bad. Older build characters are able to clear the abyss. I worry more about the fact that we get more and more events with less primos as a reward

Genshin recycles it's content, even the power levels, so I'd say it's not powercreep but they power lift forgotten or unused characters.

I'm going to make a counterpoint that we've been here before, it was Inazuma in general mostly Raiden Kazuha Ayaka, but if you look at it now people have calmed from the hype, or in other cases certain characters got serious ways to build teams (new supports etc) that elevated them again. Very very similar to that era we feel it more because of the current abyss, which we had the same thing happen around early half of 2.0+ era where it was repeatedly tailored extremely well for new 5* characters. Eventually people realized none of this was be all end all, although new comps and character buffs helped this.
What i would say about Fontaine is they nailed character purpose more, the way they play, this doesn't make them better imo but it makes building and using them more intuitive, and for casual players way less chance of having any odd feelings like with Ayato when you realize what he actually specializes at (all about his ult. idc if Zajeff said otherwise originally) Childe with a good nuke build and busted Xiangling beside him I'm pretty certain still can beat out Neuvi for low constellation investment, and Ayatos synergy for AoE comps (not relevant right now, but surely can be again) namely in Nilou bloom but also Freeze comps with Venti still scales, the difference is nobody pulled these characters originally for these purposes with Neuvillette you know exactly what your getting, a big dong watergun dragon of a man who does exactly what you thought. Also why roll any of these dudes if you don't care for them Yelan is still crazy as ever.
Oh also Sucrose is still better then Kazuha in most comps lower investment players would use the two as either or situation, shes just harder to use, greedier for field time, doesn't make Kazuha bad i prefer his style of buffing and play but people still cling to him as a true example of powercreep incorrectly like crazy. I'd conclude with saying we do have some creep but its usability creep, and hes top tier example of that as are most if not all the new Fontaine characters. Neuvillette should be more compared as a Archon style character imo, and in that regard I'm not going to say hes more useful or amazing then Nahida still can be or especially was back when she came out, its just on field single character vs off field supportive.

Genshin has always had powercreep. It's just that now it can no longer be denied.
Powercreep is the general trend of new characters being better than old character and its best exemplified if a character that was considered strong at one point is strictly worse than a newer character. This doesnt have to happen for power creep to have occured

I have been skipping characters for a while now simply because I'm not even happy yet with the build of the ones I pulled previously, so yeah, pulling have been meaning less and less for me with time, this is one of the reasons I have always been in favor of vertical investment.
Neuvilette is powercreep all by himself. Lyney and navia just fell that way bc they have access to a lot of their power with minimal setup
I love the idea of furina being Omega Giga zoomer turbo broken as she is because that means that whatever you throw in with her will also be! Ngl I was gonna be an Eula simp REGARDLESS since I got her in 3.8 but the difference of playing her with Raiden(c2), Zhongli and Bennett to play her with Raiden, Furina(c1) and Mika(c2) is HUUUUGE, Furina really made my favorite character become even more favorite! And I will atribute this to the fact that Furina is omegabroken while being off field, unlike Neuvillette who would feel like he overcrept your Ayato/childe/maindps because he takes the whole field for himself, Furina really is the best character ever made in a sense. Cant wait to get her C2 + weapon next rerun
Honestly powercreep has been in the game forever - it just hasn't been *characters*. Weapons and especially artifact sets have been getting powercrept for years. Like look back at 2.0 and tell me Emblem of Severed Fate wasn't an absolutely massive upgrade for any character that deals most of their damage with their burst.
But we hadn't any set for burst centric dmg, and noblesse doesn't count. It's new set, not powercreep of existing ones.
sort of agree, we can’t really know the future, but for example, fischl’s 4pc set in the beginning were not really better than 2pc 2pc, but now her uncontested best set for skill is 4pc golden troupe
Does the artifact & weapon powercreep really matter? It hardly affects the older characters, and the newer ones have their kits designed around them from the very beginning. Besides, it's not like you have to pay for the good artifacts. It's the characters that are the main problem, seeing your favourite character falling off or just being lackluster in the first place is just plain terrible and disheartening.
I think the biggest reason for perceived power creep in Genshin is often a misunderstanding and lack of knowledge of certain units and roles within the game from the community as a whole

As a Welkin player who has been playing for about 1.5 years now, I have started going for constellations instead of more characters for a lot of the reasons you outlined. Unless I really love a character, it just isn’t worth the investment to build them when I can just save those wishes for someone I really, really like and make them even more powerful.
I would say furina power crep very support in the game because her damage buff is universal that she fits in almost every team possible if not every team. The fact that she provides a buff that it would take two units to provide already says alot but hoyo had to give her a down side which is needing a healer to take up another slot but if that healer as you said can bring something else to the team then we can come to some idea that furina gives you essentially 4 slots of supports in a hyper team for the carry or in a example navia team it would be possible to run Ben-xl. If you're able to cycle through your team good enough to keep everyone topped up you essential have 2 Bens on your team at that point with the buffs that navia and xl would get
In similar fashion to vertical investment, one of the biggest gripes in Genshin right now is the "artifact powercreep". It's laughable how big the gap between the best set and the second option now. This wasn't the case 2 years ago except some notable exceptions (Raiden and to lesser extent, Ayaka at the time).
Fontaine's artifacts are just miles better than the older ones, and you know how painful artifact farming is. I'm not having fun farming that Golden+Mare domains for two/three months now. It's kinda tiring to dedicate myself to just get that one good sands artifacts that never come.

Funny enough I’m farming Emblem of Severed Fate right now because I’ve taken a liking to a bunch of burst dependent characters.
Given the Archons have supportive role and now we have Neuvi setting the standard as the first Dragon Sovereign main DPS , Hoyo might already have the same pattern set for future Sovereigns. Question is how they gonna balance or step up from Neuvi. Given that pyro resonance buffs ATK, Pyro Sovereign (if playable) might have ATK buffing main DPS kit or the BiS artifacts might do it. Bennett might be even more stellar in Natlan teams. Let see what Natlan has to offer ❤
I only ever get C0 period. If I really like a character then I will go for cons on rerun banners. But I refuse to fall victim to FOMO. I also couldnt care less about abyss. I am satisfied with 3 stars on floor 11. Floor 12 is bait and optional imho. I also refuse to spend money on this game. Same with HSR.
How is abyss a bait? You should easily 36star abyss after a few months of playing as f2p. As long as you know what are you doing.

Hsr is where I find it hard to keep up. I cant clear things unless I have the proper element because all enemies have shields like im fighting abyss mage using incorrect element without having the opportunity to break its shield.

I wonder if the crazy buffing of hydro characters is because of how close we are to Snezhnaya and a bunch of characters who will just slap hydro. In Snezhnaya, you'll basically be running with pyro and electro teams 90% of the time so the focus on overload makes complete sense.
the only powercreeping here is neuvillete. No one else really did much powercreeping imo. Like Lyney is restrictive, Navia has the worst range, Furina doesnt have enough good team healers. Im trynna keep it real

I think she's going to be an overload DPS. Besides, Cyno was never the best electro DPS but he's still solid despite that, and Yae is mostly a strong sub DPS

for me Neuvi is the only character feels too op , he has no downside at all ,lyney need to be in full pyro team, navia need a geo pair and crystalize mechanic, furina is strong but she needs team wide healer but neuvi can just solo which is i dont like , if he is cryo do this beam of death, it wouldn't be this bad the fact is he is hydro and doing sooo much damage make me feel like why im building other characters, he is practically good on any sort of domain and with elemental checks you cant restrict hydro so much because its really important element. He never require a team to shine even though it feels that way. I love the team building and still relevance of the old characters that what I love about the game . There is no pvp but the fact some one can beat your DPS output with a one single character makes the game boring and makes you wonder why to build any other characters. They should have made him to required a healer or to be in a mono hydro team like a team player not like he is the whole team . I will stop ranting
Im a destiny player who came to genshin about 2 years ago now, so i have experience playing the same content for years. I enjoy the endless upgrades and the constant goals if build these chars but also manage your resources. I mike that no matter what i can be doing something more to make my characters better at any given time
I dont think they powercreep but rather upgraded a certain playstyle.. the hypercarry playstyle.. I think the only powercreep is Navia because we already have a geo hypercarry with Itto.. Neuvillette has no proper competition because the only other hydro hypercarry I can think of is Ayato and he isnt necessarily a hypercarry but rather a flex pick.. you can argue Lyney powercrept Yoimiya in terms of pyro hypercarry but he still isnt better than Hu Tao..
I think having neuvilette is the same level having zhongli, he's pretty much easy to build, very strong character at c0 and very easy to play like there's no extra steps how to min max the damage. And also his survivability is pretty high since he can heals from the water droplets.. Yea surely he did powercreep Ayato by a lot..
Im definitely a builder. Its really fun to just make lots of characters and try out less recommended teams to see how they work.
Same, c6 Faruzan isn't broken but its fun to see her as a dps and try out niche teams

You're right about Beeing hard to keep up. I'm an occasional welkin buyer with terrible luck when it comes to pulls and I still always feel behind when it comes to building characters I want to build. It takes so many resources to get the character up to endgame standard and before you can you already have another character.
And i though it would take into sneznaya to powercreep the kazuha team dps utility, and furina blew away my expectations
Kazuha hasn't really been powercreep by furina. It's simply the dmg

Good thing is (well might be a bad thing) is that end game is so easy that u can use anything to clear it.
I play coop most of the time and I one time almost rage quit when an AR56 player with an underbuilt Nuevellette out dpsed all the characters I've been building for years. This is just messed up.
So, if you are a player like me that wants to have a strong account, there is literrily no reason to pull for any character other than Neuvillette. He powercreeps every other dps in every situation
- He is good at aoe content,
- Good at single target,
- He is hydro basically best element in the game.
- Can hit flying enemies.
- Can heal himself,
- He almost has no downtime on his skill
- Probably the most braindead character to use.
You name it.
Do you know the worst part is? If they go down the powercreep path, Nuivellette will get powercrept in the future too. This puts the players in an endless cycle of unsatisfaction with their characters. This is why I despise powercreep in games.
I am a welkin and that is all that I use, and I got Ayato, Ayaka, Navia, and Yoimiya already I've never lost a 50/50, and I'm really happy with my choices, but I also feel that I can literally never pull another DPS character again, because I'll never be able to build them

I was pretty crap at this game up until AR 55 when Neuvillette came out. I was using Tighnari as my main DPS as he was literally my only good DPS, so I made a choice to save all my primos for a choice DPS. Banners came and went but I stayed strong, finally saving nearly 200 wishes. Once Neuvillette came out I went nuts, I got him first then immediately went for his weapon and got it first try. Once I built him up a bit he quickly became my strongest character, easily surpassing Tighnari's damage output. Once I was more familiar with his kit I decided C1 would be a great addition to his damage output and versatility, and managed to win my 50/50 for his C1. Neuvillette completely turned my account and gaming experience around, now I was able to confidently stride into any battle, explore wherever at a decent pace, not constantly getting caught in long battles. Not having much experience with the game I didn't realize just how strong he was compared to other units, and now with 45 CR and 290 CD he just wipes the floor with everything.
Have used C1 Ganyu as basically my only dps since she came out because I stopped playing between original Eula banner and Furina. Game reset my accumulated pity in that time. Lost 50/50 Furina to Jean, got Navia, then Dehya, Yoimiya, Chevreuse, Diluc, and Raiden in that order. It's thousands resin to farm for Ascension and talent material, tens of millions of Mora, and I haven't even started any artifacts.
On top of that, a new or returning player like me has to do hundreds of hours of questing to even unlock craftable weapons, the necessary domains, and every boss required.
The game is extremely unfriendly to new or returning players.
I already have Neuv and Navia as my Fontaine characters. Then I will get Clorinde as my last fontaine character 💖.
I can’t wait to get Neuv/Wriothesley/furina/alhaitham. I might be waiting awhile :(( but the joy I got from Wriothesley’s trial in the sword Fontaine event rn was the best feeling ever.
Do you remember the first powercreep? Ganyu's launch. Until then, Diluc was the strongest, and Childe was not that good at time. Ganyu basically outdamage every other character... Then came Hu Tao kkkkkkkkk
I feel like at the welkin and maybe battle pass level, you can go for one c2r1 per region and one c0r0, maybe getting lucky and snagging a rerun character or two. Thankfully most regions weren’t more tempting than that. I don’t envy your channel having to build every character, there just isn’t enough resin for every character to be built. I saved to be able to do just Furina and Navia and day 1 ascend them, have only built charlotte otherwise and am tapped out of resources at this point.
Powercreep is why I'm not investing my time effort and money into building characters in a gacha game.

Lyney considerably outclasses Klee (and in some scenarios even Hu Tao) in DPS and DPR . I feel like people underrate how much buffing and frontload he gets from Furina compared to the other two, combined with having access to XL for better aoe and not having to do stricter rotations or weird swirl setups for vv vape. I wouldn't call it powercreep tho, since he can suffer from not being able to use a shielder without losing lots of damage.
And he has more frontload, too. And don't even get me on his c1 being a delete button
And that's the thing. Lyney (especially on paper) is stronger. But in practice not a lot of people can do this.
I remember when Jstern talked (in one of his podcasts) everyone to play Furina + Lyney and in the end: All for them saw the potential but they also overall agreed that playing this team can be such of an hassle that they prefer the other teams much more. And this is a good trade off. This is why Lyney is such an perfectly balanced unit and doesn't powercreep Klee to the ground while being overall stronger. His gameplay has issues but the trade off is more damage. While Klee isn't super easy to use she has more ways to dodge withtout losing a bunch of damage. But her damage is overall worse than Lyney.

These are some great points. I think so long as they keep the content at the current level and don't make things absurdly difficult with stupidly high HP AND lethality (3.6 and 3.7 abysses were really concerning...), then there really isn't too much issue. But it really puts things into perspective when older characters need so much more investment, yet there is no compensation or catch-up to make up for that. Not really sure what hoyo can do with this with their refusal to retrospectively look at older characters and improve them directly. There's only so much that new supports and game mechanics etc. can do to elevate old characters like what Dendro did, at a certain point raw numerical scalings are going to become an issue.
I understand your concern but there is really no chance Hoyo directly buff their older characters. They have never done it in their lifetime except Zhongli but he has many reason to that. Plus new support and mechanic have been really effective. Hu tao, ganyu is still the very best
Neuv definitely spoiled me. I quit playing when Raiden first ever released and maybe did like 2 commissions in between then and fontaine's release. Nobody feels as strong and probably never will with my terrible artifact luck. Still enjoy playing other characters, especially Raiden since I finally have her now.
Saw Lyney in the thumbnail, and I had to click. All the characters of fontaine have been baseline good, save perhaps Freminet, and even he isnt that bad, physical just inst great. Lynette is a solid anemo support and atk buffer, Charlotte is an excellent healer and team mate to Furina, Chevie can rival kazuha buff at c0, Furina is...well, Furina. Same with Neuvillette, he's insanity. Lyney amd Navia are both huge nuke dps's that have managed to outclass their elements by a margin. Wrio is also a good dps, especially with c1. I wouldn't say he powercrept but hes very good. I'm lucky since I like all the fontaine characters, Lyney in particular is my all time fave. I have them all except Wrio and Charlotte, hope to get them all at some point. Probably going to have to skip some banners for Lyney c2 and Neuvillette c1
Amazing video! I think it's crazy how everyone was hating on the hyperbloom reaction for it being broken and saying "hmph it's a reaction for lazy people that goes against everything blah blah blah" but at the same time everyone was head over heels for neuvilette for being too broken?? Like make it make sense!! I think they were just sad a small flower was doing more damage than their waifu, lol.
What's more, not everyone's gonna have neuvi, but literally everyone can have acess to the hyperbloom reaction.
I am at the point where I’m planning for constellations. I have enough characters for team and gameplay diversity and always stick to my faves leaving most benched. I’ll definitely still get the occasional new character if I really enjoy their design or gameplay but I’m at the point where I just want to push my current characters.
Plus if I have to keep farming new domains and materials constantly I’m going to burn out and leave the game again so wishing for my cons on already built characters is actually way more enjoyable for me currently. Same goes for weapons.
I’ve only gone for kazuha and furina cons so far but they both proved the extra investment to be worth it on my account so now I’m aiming for nahida’s c1 and c2
Sumeru was also powercreep because of how strong hyperbloom was. Also aggravate teams were in a lot of cases stronger than vape/melt comps.
During sumeru - eula, ganyu, klee, yoimiya, itto, zhongli, diona and sucrose just fell off and became irrelevant in the meta. And yes, before sumeru these characters were considered at least decent to very good characters, just look up any tierlist
Sucrose never fell off. I used her every Sumeru Abyss until I got Kazuha in 3.7. The problem with Sucrose is she actually takes a little bit of skill/game knowledge compared to for example Raiden Shogun where you just build the character and press buttons to win. So Sucrose will always be unpopular with most of player base. Also most of the units on your list got a pretty decent buff with Furina. Doesn't make them meta but good enough for f2ps to comfortably clear Abyss 12 (whereas in the past only meta teams could clear for f2ps)
Yoi was considered the worst limited 5 star when she launched. How exactly did she fall off from the bottom?
@@nagorner3791 not exactly most theorycrafters still rated her A tier or A+, but during sumeru especially when abysses became harder she became a B tier carry and stays there for most people

Same with kazuha, he buffs characters so that they seem better than they are. Mono elemental teams is where kazuha finds most success. Whereas sucrose buffs reaction based characters which are already strong like xiangling and fischl
@@Zarya. Do you remember her launch? TC's absolutely shat on her. Who exactly rated her A before sumeru? Yoi was always ST locked, needed a shielder for her combos and didn't have enough ST damage to compensate.
At most some people started to consider her "not bad" before Sumeru launch, because her range became moderately useful. But Yoi had never stepped into meta. During her launch people had written entire dessertations in reddit why she was god awful, ala Dehya. She wasn't anywhere as bad as Dehya so it became forgotten quickly, but she isn't what I would consider meta unit that got powercrept.
Not arguing with anything, you are right, just some observations: I have accepted the fact that some units want their c1-c2 r1 to get the full potential of their kit. Its a gacha game, it is what it is. But this pattern has been prevalent over a long time. Hu Tao, Yelan, Cyno, to name a few. they gain SO much from that early investment, you never want to go back. Some units are very good/complete at c0. Alhaitham, Nilou, Lyney, Navia. Investment always good, but it is not required.
And from the latest cast, Neuvilette feels great to play even at baseline, imo the biggest c1r1 bait is Wriothesley :D He becomes an incredible carry, even if made for melt, he benched my mistsplitter Ayaka in her freeze completely. I would put him over Neuvilette in terms of investment bait, hands down
Someone finally said it. Thank you. It's so obvious. "Well you don't need Nuvilette, he's just another DPS." Yeah that can solo spiral at C0. You'll have a way easier time with him just starting out than literally any other character.

tbf ayato was never really that good even before neuv came out. he was still a good pull since he was hydro and therefore has good teams but as an on-fielder he was just ok. he's always been interchangeable with other hydros and also never been a BiS in great teams.

Ayato soup is still quite good? Best at killing repeatedly respawning enemies like the battle events but only quite good at everything else. There is also ayato in nilou bloom as well. Every other team do feel bad for ayato in comparison to other similar teams though.

Like you say at the end, it doesn't matter right now because you can still clear abyss with nearly any units, from old favorites to wonky trial and error teams to ultra min/max. Powercreep is bad in honkai impact as a comparison, where not only do they release better units but also create bosses for those units and phase out old ones. And also a large portion of your crystal income comes from basically a competitive abyss, where its your clear time vs other players, so you're incentivized to spend, especially if you're in higher tiers.
Yeah, I have the problem where I wanna pull for so many charactars but the resources I have is so limited since I started in 4.0, I literally have navia and nuevillette at level 50 because I still have a whole other team that have like 0 artifacts but they’re levelled and their talents to my desired wants, it’s crazy how much investment 1 character needs and how long it takes to get good enough artifacts for them to be usable at best
I built several low-investment teams and the truth is I was left far behind in the abyss, even in events where I couldn't get the highest score or surpass it. When I invested in Neuvilette I discovered another reality. Nowadays, the truth is I prefer to have a few characters that I like and give them investment than to have many characters with little investment.
About building as a new player, I'm playing for 10 months, I managed to build a great diversity of characters, but I bought the favor and BP on 8 months + I grinded most of the content. I managed to get a dozen of 5 stars, and build a lot of lvl 80 and a few 90 on 5 and 4 stars. When I build, I feel like I'm always behind and I still do not have +20 artifacts (only main stat and sets) on most of my characters. I takes a f long time and if I had a job this year, I would never be able to catchup like I did.
