I just love his confidence when he says he is the best bass player. When I listen to all the tunes he has played on I think this is true. There many bass players out there but his bass lines are very unique.

i really really appreciate this effort to expose the talent behind the megga hit songs from reggae music , most of whom we have never heard their names , our jamaican journalists have failed badly in this regard , for the most part it has been left to foreigners to chronicle the contributions of the unsung heroes (a lot of whom are gone now) behind reggae music .

Roots Radics - Flabba/ Style/ other members of the band with singers like Johnny Osbourne, Barrington Levi, Linval Thompson etc recorded at channel 1 mixed at King Tubbys by Scientist. That's a major part of my music education as a teen. I now live in Atlanta and blast then tunes very loudly to this day when I drive especially if I feel a little stress to feel good, very therapeutic :)

Rory Selby-Smith But not number one dancer. Flabba Holt.. nuff respect to the "I" as a bass player- musician. I love the "I" bass lines. Roots Radics is a well recognized band, but when it comes to dancing you can't touch "Persian" the cat. You and me are about the same age ...I may even be a few years older from Fletchers Land. In the heart of Sir Coxsone, Duke Reid, V Rocket, Prince Buster, Billy's Hometown HiFi, and all the other systems of the East, and I have never heard of you or anyone that can out dance Persian. You need to stop saying that you can dance better than Persian. In your mind! Have you ever danced at Forester's Hall, Mutual hall, Jubilee tile Gardens, Caterers, Kings Lawn, Liberty Hall among many others. These are places where Persian have danced on many occasions in front of hundreds or thousands of people. You may have been good out in your area but not good enough to mix with Patta Cat. Ask King Stitch about Persian. Ask Matchuke about Persian. Ask Skatalites about Persian. I'm talking about late 50's to early 60's. Who can I ask about you and what name were you known by. You mentioned "Bop" in a video and he can't dance like Persian. Bop would watch Persian dance. I've witnessed it. You would first have to out dance Bop to get to Persian. Please stop saying that, cause you cannot dance like Persian the Cat, Flabba!
      I rest my case.
