It's just a perfect detail for Plankton to say Shia Kazing when he claps with his Up B. That also explains why he explodes. Love the attention to detail in this game and for using all the best references.
I really like the segments that show off the different visual options you can select for each character. This one in particular explicitly shows off a 4-way ditto with each plankton having a different alt. That’s just awesome
As soon as I heard Plankton had access to.... "The Sauce" I knew it was game over. He's already S tier and we haven't even seen him in high level competitive yet.
His ultimate being inspired by the “Coin Operated Self Destruct” is really funny Not only is that a reference to an iconic SpongeBob moment, but also the character from Dragon Ball FighterZ, Android 16, a grappler who’s finishing move is a self destruct 😂

I wouldn’t say Plankton is like Kirby If anything Plankton is like Terry since he has the power wave and burn knuckle for his charged attacks. Also he has the Potemkin Buster from Guilty Gear and like what the other dude said, Android 16’s self destruct
Love how much more expressive the animation is in this one, looks really cool. Plankton seems to be like the combination of all the better parts of smash's heavies, which is very interesting.
As a dedede/bowser main i wish that my mains had theae kind of tools id suffer way less. Plus slime burst can reset neutral and keep you from being comboed to oblivion.

It isn't just some big strong mech, it struggles with speed and needs Plankton to be smart and creative, controlling space and debuffing opponents so he can finally get them!! Burning with his mech, poisoning with chum, slowing down and limiting DI with sauce, and Karen helps out a lot too! Shia-kazing, self-destructing, and his adorable little march-waddle, so super cute and fun, love it all so much, great work everyone!
You guys really captured the essence of Plankton with this moveset. His entire kit literally screams "supervillain" I can tell the devs really had a blast with him, I just hope it's enough to make him more than just viable

I main King K. Rool, so Plankton's "Heavy Zoner Grappler Playstyle" is something I'm hella comfortable with. + I love villains and just Plankton in general, I'm hype af for this game
Yeah, as a toon link main plankton will probably be a better fit. I'm ok with him as a heavy zoner/slow. None of the characters in one fit my playstyle. Since I main more sword and floaty characters. Kirby is my second main

So Plankton is pretty much K. Rool, but instead of armor he has Inkling’s mechanic and it applies debuffs. This is so awesome, cannot wait to use this tiny genius and make my opponents get lost in the sauce!
The sauce kind of reminds me of the Inklings' paint in Smash. The difference being it lowers stats instead of durability. Also, I freaking LOVE that super move with the self destruct 🤣 Man I can't wait to play this game 🥲
This is the kind of character would get the K Rool treatment is smash. Heavy that dominates at the start of the game and would fall off as time goes on, but because of early game dominance gets nerfed and never recovers.
Having a heavy character with the ability to slow down the opponents sounds very interesting I feel like compared to other platform fighters like multiversus, nick all star definitely seems to lean to the more competitive side rather than casual
I wouldn't say this at all. Especially since the devs have said they regretted that nasb 1 got seen as being compettive focused. I feel like they're focused on the fun first on this one, while still having compettive options available, seeing as it seems like most, if not all stages have an "normal" and "Simple" form, similarly to rivals of Aether, and the fact that the items are in at launch, something they weren't able to do before. In addition to a whole new single player mode with unlockable and replayability

@@thefatbearcrew I feel like those are all less of compettive focused things and more of just, general cool gameplay mechanics things, especially the meter as I've seen many comp players complaining that supers are gonna be involved in the game, when I think of comp freindly options in a game, I think of, again the stage variant toggle, but other things like the ability to turn off items, tons of useful training mode settings, stable online and with an online segment made for comp play, etc. Not to say the game is doing anything bad. but like, it feels less like "This game is going to be competitive focused" And more like "this is just going to be a good fucking video game for anyone involved with cool mechanics"
I swear, every character looks more sick than the last. And every character looks and feels so unique. It wasn’t like NASB 1 where most characters looked and felt same-y. NASB 2. MK1. SF6. Tekken 8. Project L. It's the best time to be a fighting game fan

Even though the latest DBFZ patch is fairly devisive, I loved it and I love the direction DBFZ has been going in these last 2 patches. If Strive is more like DBFZ then it gets a thumbs up from me, lol

This is perhaps the most unique, and craziest moveset I’ve seen for a heavyweight. Plankton looks a lot of fun, can’t wait to play as him.

Well, Ink slows you down when you walk on it, and it makes you take more damage when it covers you so they’re close
