It is mainly to prevent radical and unobjective discussions and/or insults, that are prevalent in the comment sections of political videos. As far as I know, every news outlet, that posts political/controversial on social media disables the comment section in order to prevent the previously described scenario. Also, you can comment on their newest videos normally, so I don't understand what you're referring to.
