That shot of the baby at “it’s just 1 life to take” was not really him offering the baby. He was remembering the last time he was in the situation where just killing 1 more person would let him get home
The Cyclops was smiling because now he has a name You can't send someone after 'nobody', but you can absolutely send someone after Odysseus, king of Ithica
Athena: "You should probably kill him, he's still a threat." Ody: "Nah, I'm gonna give him my name and tell him where I live." Athena: "...You're fired."
My Goodbye is one of my favorite songs, but also one of the most heartbreaking. (Wolfy’s animatic definitely aided with both of those). Athena had been with him for half of his life. He grew up with her, learning life skills and training. Not to mention that he idolized her as a kid. She was so much more than his patron goddess. But the second he won’t kill, where he just wants to leave, she pops up, pushing him to kill. If she had just let him get to his fleet and go everything would’ve been fine, but he had to be her perfect warrior. And, just like that, she drops him. No mistakes are allowed. No grieving. It kills me, but is also really accurate as to how the Greek gods are in stories. Also, keep an ear out for Athena’s instrument, the piano, in later songs. It’s a hint that she might still be lurking.
Same. It's such a catchy song and it feels like an intense back and forth between a teacher and student. You could hear the disappointment in Athena's vocals.
Yes and no, I'm going to break a lance for Athena and say she was right. Polyphemus was a potential threat until he killed him, And then I try to stop Odysseus' stupidity of doxxing himself. Odysseus was not "merciful" he was vengeful, that's why Athena knew how it was going to end, leaving a fighter disabled was worse than dying, she humiliated him and then doxxed him And to me it even seemed like Athena wanted him to apologize, she was scolding him, yes, but she didn't seem as willing to cut him off as in her final stanza, in which the tone changes slightly. And Athena herself tells him "One day you will understand" and spoilers He understood it, but he understood it without a patron goddess who could help and guide him. Athena is not really wrong, is she cruel? Is she cold? Yes, she is, but she is right. ((More spoilers) And yet, when the moment comes, she breaks a lance for him and goes to save him, because deep down she appreciates him, (and also because of the influence of Telemachus, My baby deserves recognition) Athena didn't just see Odysseus as a tool, he was more than that to her but the biggest problem with Odysseus is that he tends to be too arrogant. He stood up to his patron goddess and threw a string of emotions at her, yes, but not facts, not data, not realities, He says that mercy is a tool that could be used more, but he had no mercy on the Cyclops, He took revenge and then commented on the arrogance of telling him his name. It is also half-understood that Athena helped him in some key parts, when Hermes appears you actually hear a bit of piano, Which to me makes it seem like Athena had her hand in there. So I think many went for the emotional side without coldly analyzing Athena's actions and words. And Athena is one of the goddesses I hate the most, but I really think she deserves more points here.
haha love your excitement. i’m not surprised you’re vibing with it, the creator of the musical wanted to make a musical that felt like a video game and this is the result! subscribed!
Hell yea duo reaction! If nothin more this is a story about a man simping mega hard for his wife. And youve picked some top tier a+ animatics to watch too
And in my opinion Athena was trying to prevent exactly what happens later on in the ocean Saga and since he didn't listen she knew what was coming because she knows who the Cyclop father is and he was so arrogant and had too much pride and also he wanted it as a sense of Revenge in my opinion because he was spiteful that the Cyclop killed his best friend he wanted the Cyclop to know who did this to him and that's what hurt him in the end and that's what made him stay away from getting home for so long his arrogance was the main thing that caused him not to get home quicker so if he would have listened to Athena because she wasn't just telling this to be cruel or to be evil she's doing it cuz she knew the outcome already and she was trying to guide him but he took it as being ruthless for the sake of being ruthless not being ruthless because the outcome if you don't is far worse than if you would have been ruthless at that moment

@@WeAINTseenITREACTIONS and the anger from Odysseus at being seen as nothing more than her warrior puppet. It’s such a good song

No one took Telemachus from him, he was taken to war away from his wife and son
Actually, it's not a good thing that Odysseus spared the Cyclops and told his name, it was very stupid, and it's going to bite him in ass very soon.
Poseidon couldn't agree more.

He's definitely a man on a mission. A mission to get back to wifey. It's crazy how he keeps getting thrown off course by these annoying gods
My absolute favorite thing is always people who have no reference for greek mythology or the Odyssey being absolutely delighted by the Nobody trick
If you didn't notice polities was holding a baby that was the child he dropped in just a man
