    I noticed when I was mixing this that this guitar has a very chunky, almost single coil/P90 characteristic to the attack, made it really easy for the guitars to cut through the mix.

      @STEPHEN BENNETT If you're talking about the model I just mentioned I'd have to disagree... SS frets should not add much to the price. The wire itself isn't any more expensive. The only thing you need is better tools that don't wear out as fast as the standard nickel fret tools. I have no idea why a lot of builders up-charge SO much for SS frets, there's really no logical reason.

    • @pedrosilvaproductions
      @pedrosilvaproductions 4 года назад +1

      SS is less soft than nickel thus harder to insert, bends less easily. Overall its a tad more work. Whilst you can bend nickel with a rubber hammer. But i agree

    • @frmcf
      @frmcf 4 года назад

      I'm not a luthier, but they must be harder to work with. The installation might not be that much harder, but the levelling, crowning and polishing surely is?

      @@pedrosilvaproductions There are proper tools that can bend SS wire they're no more expensive than the tools needed to process and radius ns frets, and they last a lot longer too. Ryan Bruce has been at it longer, but kinda jumped the shark after hawking a bunch of crappy gear like everyone else (most pedals are just unnecessary imo). At least with a guitar, it is what it is: glue, wood, hardware- so you can always envision what you could change and upgrade about it should you not be 100% happy with it. I think that's why, when it comes to gear-based channels, I prefer channels like Agu's, ArnoldPlaysGuitar, Guitar Pit, and Troggly's.

But it eats a huge hole through that drug business. Personally if people want the real deal no matter what the product, it's usually to do with the infatuation of the brand and prestige of said item, this goes for cars, guns, etc. I could care less if they're slave laboured copycats, I need something that plays good at a cheap price.

    I've ordered 2 time with 4 guitars (MS-60VW, MB-4 SB, SC-450 Plus, CST-24 T) in total from Thomann and had the units shipped to California, other that the annoyance of my mail person not actually attempting delivery, but lying and saying they had, I haven't had any issues with import or having to pay extra fees. Just had to run to the post office and sign for them so it sounds like maybe it's a state to state thing here in the US. Shipping has run about $30 both times, and it's a flat rate up to a certain weight, so if you can, try and order more than one item at a time to make it a slightly better deal.

And then stock them and play them not so often because of lack of time. I have 2 HB (st62 and sc450+) and I really have to work out my zen to not buy those Fusions (HH with Floyd) or a Tele or their CST24 (already have a PRS...) or their Jaguar or SC with P90 and... I play virtually every genre of music with the exception of "C"Rap and R&B....ya know, the "DIVA" Beyoncé......BEYOND COMPREHENSION AS TO BEING ALL VOICE CORRECTED, PROTOOLED TO DEATH, Taylor, "Can't Carry A Tune In My Sandbucket If I Tried" Swift to write a song about another one of her 10,000+ guy's she's broken up with....ya get the point.
    I play everything from Boston, Bryan Adams to Black Sabbath.
    Journey to Judas Priest, Jason Aldean to to Hank Jr. REAL MUSIC!! A.O.R. Metal and Blues.
    Now that my overly opinionated rant is over....you're welcome and I apologize.
    This Beautiful Looking and Sounding Guitar seems to cover all the Bases. I am shocked.
    I do, however wish, the HSH Configuration came with the Floyd as an option!!!.......hint, hint!!
    The Truss adjustment is very "San Dimas".....cool!!
    I guess, as with a great number of other players, my only MAJOR CONCERN is how the shape and playability are with the Neck.
    For over 4 Decades, I'm used to playing Compound Radius Necks from Jackson's, Charvels and the great Ibanez RG-550's.
    It's just too bad I can't "Kick the tires" so to speak, before buying it.
    But hey........this will be an exciting opportunity, if the Neck is even remotely close, to FINALLY RETIRE ALL of my Vintage 80's SHREDMASTERS, finally putting them back to pass down to the kids and Grandkids, then LOUDLY ROCK INTO THE SUNSET WITH A REALLY GOOD QUALITY COLLECTION OF GUITARS THAT I NO LONGER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE SALTY, HEAT AND HUMIDITY OF THE FLORIDA HELL HOLE DESTROYING A WHOLE LOT OF $$$$$!!!!
    Thanks for making a great Demo Video and for turning me on to, what looks and sounds to be some really great Guitars!!
    Keep 'em coming!!

    How did you get that low tuning with a Floyd? ready to grab one, still figuring which color, I think the new ones have a string tree, for sure want HSH, clean strat sound is nice, does Wilkinson Trem stay in tune? On back order anyway, which should mean somethin, unless Thomann is holding on to them, if something sounds to good to be true, you know the rest,,

      @@guitarsimon1 I'm also skeptical when a Chinese brand like this offers a "Genuine" Floyd rose for such a low price.
      A real Floyd rose 1000 series costs $225 and a set of Grover's costs $80.
      I mean, theoretically if I wanted to upgrade one of my guitars, it would be almost the same price to buy one of these guitars, as it would to just buy the parts separately from thomman.
      Which... Seems suspicious. Makes me feel like the guitar Is made with off make parts.
      They're real but not up to the same Standard. Or so I suspect.

    Just checked out their website. After perusing their inventory, its pretty obvious what's happening here - I would bet these are made in the same Chinese factories that make other bigger brand name guitars, but rebranded "Harley Benton" and sold without the crazy markup of the other lines. Which is fine. Thank you for this.

    • @ThePedroDB

      Absolutely correct Alex. Thomann do direct sales rather than using additional distributors & sales outlets. A lack of 'middle men' keeps the prices down. I suspect their (presumably) high volume of sales of these guitars maximises their buying power too. Fair play to Thomann for making guitars with these features available at such low prices

    Well, the question should be “how the fck are other guitars so expensive?”. The material costs, when we do not consider pickups, are in reality pretty low. Wood is bought in big bulks, tuners are produced in thousands per minute in factory, etc. So the whole material costs are pretty low (100 dollars tops even for average gibson or so). What matters is work price, tolls, advertisement, branding and so on. So thats why.

    when tholman labels something b-stock, it doesn't mean that it is damaged or a factory second. it means that the costumer either opened it up and didn't like it so they sent it back or they opened it all up and realised it wasn't what they were planning on recieving. I could be wrong but by law i bet they cant sell these guitars at full price without labeling it as back stock.

    Can you please demo an LTD JH600? It's a superstrat shaped guitar with grover tuners, binding on the neck and headstock and a Kahler tremolo system, which is supposed to be less of a pain in the butt than floyd roses.
