Dude... Seriously, AWESOME video. Informative, helpful, and you don't skip 7 out of 10 steps like that useless Haynes manual I bought. Thank you for this.
Even though i'm an intermediate mechanic. I like looking at videos before i do stuff, to make sure i don't screw stuff up. But, honestly this is an amazing video. Thanks man i really appreciate the effort you put into this video. Sad part is most kia owners are never going to change their transmission fluid XD.

Yes, there is. This video provides tips for a DIY method to perform a mini flush that replaces about 70% of the old fluid without having to remove the transmission cover or filter.
Great video. Is there any reason you couldn't add the fluid into the check hole with a manual pump? Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like that might be easier, at least for topping off if needed.
I didn't fill out my ATF oil through that plug Port you showed us. In the back of the engine there is a plug that looks just like the bottom drain plug and that's where I filled up my ATF with a pump. I don't think mine has a port plug between the air filter and the engine. I could be wrong.
Do you own an SX that comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine? If so, that is likely the reason for the alternate fill port location. How did you verify the fill port location?
@@protipsplus no I have an lx 2018 2.4l. I just looked at it, and I do have a fill port in front. But in the back of the transmission there is another plug that looks exactly like the bottom 22mm drain Plug. You can fill it there.
The issue with the dry DCT 7 is due to a problem with the transmission's electric high-pressure oil pump. KIA has issued a recall for that issue. Contact your local dealer.
Unlike engine oil, the primary reason for changing transmission fluid is that it loses its ability to disapate heat. Overheating is the primary reason for transmission issues. I change filters when symptoms are present. Otherwise, I just drain and fill.
Please i would like to understand something what you mean by turning one engine for the last drain. Just one push start or turning on completely the engine during the last steps of drainage?
After the first drain and fill, turn the engine on and let it run for about one minute while shifting gears. This will mix the new fluid with the used fluid so that the second drain of fluid is about 50% used.

Hi! I have a Kia Sportage 2017 manual diesel. 37000miles on clock. I want to change the transmission fluid. I have to follow this video for manual transmision as well?
Overall, the procedure is similar, but there are a few differences. 1. Gear fluid= 75w-90, 2. The gearbox is located beneath the shifter. You'll likely need a small oil pump and hose to fill the gearbox. See ruclips.net/video/AyG9HeDfOKY/видео.html for tips. I plan to demo a Kia Soil this month
Great video. Once you drain and refill the transmission oil running it for about one minute shifts the new oil into the transmission and torque converter and put the old untrained oil into the pan so when you drain it the second time you taking out old fluid. I figure your replacing a good 90% or more of the tranny fluid. I purchased from NAPA auto parts Idemitsu SPIV oil specifically made for Hyundai. This oil company makes a lot of Asian oil for Asian vehicles. This is better than a universal oil such as Valvoline which is compatable with Hyundai oils. This is definitely the oil to get. A lot cheaper than from the dealer for the same oil.
Hey man I have a lexus ls 430 n I got a code of po770 of my shift solenoid (E) I’ve called dealers n dealer to see where I can get it at n nothing at all also having comments saying they don’t know what solenoid it is because they have it as 1234 not by letters and I’m struggling to find it out it’s the timing shift solenoid I’m having troubles for it to be n drive or reverse I would need to rev to 4000 rpm’s for it to move
If you check the fluid level when the fluid is warm/hot it will be slightly low when the transmission is cool. I guess if you run the engine for less than 1 minute the fluid would still be cool. Caution - A running vehicle vibrates and may become unstable when lifted. Always back up your lift with a support. Also moving belts, pulleys, fans, and etc. also create hazards. Great comment. Let me know how it turns out.

Just wanted to say thank you for making this could not find it anywhere
You're welcome. Let me know how it turns out.
Great video! I will be doing this work tomorrow for my 2017 Sportage. Thank you for the great details. Blessings!
God bless you for doing these great videos 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Please share with contacts. Blessed.
Hi, Amazing video, Just subscribed... Is the same procedure for Kia Sportage 1.6 CRDI 2019 with DCT7 ? Thanks
No it isn’t
A fluid level port because an old fashioned dipstick was too complicated for Kia to use on the Forte.

Unfortunately most new cars are going to this style. I think its to make maintenance more difficult so people either don't do it or pay the dealer.
Is there no oil filter in the gearbox that needs changing?

is there a need to replace fluid transmision also for dry DCT 7 speed ? thanks
