The is a transmission fluid filter, however it requires complete transmission removal and disassembly.
This was preformed on a 2017 Buick regal but it should be mostly the same for all FWD Epsilon II platform vehicles such as 2008-2017 Opel Insignia, Vauxhall Insignia, Holden Insignia VXR, Buick Regal, Chevrolet Vectra. 2012-2016 Chevrolet Malibu, Holden Malibu 2010-2016 Buick LaCrosse/Alpheon. 2010-2012 Saab 9-5. 2012-present Roewe 950.2012-2019 Cadillac XTS 2014-2019 Chevrolet Impala .

How many quarts did it take all together?
Do you use the same fluid you started with on refills?
No, new fluid Everytime
So will I need 3 gallon jugs of fluid?
@@jameshaynes224 3 gallons and one quart. Basically I drained and filled it up three times. (You could probably get away with 2 gallons). Then I used about 2/3 of a quart to get it at the right level.
I just put mine on the machine and it's coming back pressure control solenoid someone said to drain and fill the transmission first.
Did you have any kind of condition with shifting, shuttering, etc...before you did this procedure?
@@Rohde311 Ehhhh, Nothing Major It was just slushy aka soft/lazy shifts.
How many quarts did it take to refill??@@blackwatermotorwerks
@@jimmyishere about 4.5, but I drained and filled it 3 times, so I went through 12.5 quarts
What size socket did you use?
I think it was an 8mm?
I do not understand why you said keep changing until the fluid is clear, it is visibly red once you put it in.
he means transparent as opposed to opaque
@@topgun2877 Until the Fluid is clearly red instead of brown, black, purple etc
Why not just use your cruise control
@@mike454oh Doesn't work, cruise control needs information from all 4 speed sensors.
That’s transmission design is so stupid 😂 f these engineers man. I cannot believe they put the filter in like that to force you to go into a dealer
I agree and disagree. Most people are going to keep a car 10 years or 175-200k. That's how long this is designed to last. You can extend this significantly with regular oil changes, and changing the trans fluid. Only people driving 300k+ cars are people using them as taxis or people who can't afford to replace their cars.
Where is the filter?
@@donaldappelhof2059you have to split the casing on these transmissions.
Only happens if the transmission is out for service.
