I'm currently playing with a WHS of 15.4. I use Vice Tour. If you buy now you get 6 dozen for the price of 5 which works out at £16.65 per dozen. Even if you only buy 3 dozen the price is £20.99 per dozen. I think it's a really great ball that suits my game. NB I've never got on with ProV1's - may be i'm just nervous that I'm about to thrash a £4 ball into no man's land!!

I’m a 15.8 handicap player(was as low as 9.8) with a 105-108mph driver speed and as I naturally launch the ball to high with heaps of spin I needed a low launch/low spin ball and I’ve used the titleist AVX and scored my 1st ever eagle with it from 128 metres out(140 yards) and I love that ball, but as it’s a mid compression ball I wanted to try something a bit firmer I stumbled across the Bridgestone tour B X and I’ve found a gem of a ball, can hold greens and get great distance and it goes great in the wind,1st time I used it,it was blowing 21kph winds and I hit 10/14 fairways so I’ll be using that ball for a while in competition but for practice I’ll use the AVX

18 handicap. I play a couple rounds a week year around. If I'm honest, I play lost balls I find most of the time. The longest ball I have hit is a Titleist AVX. Found it in the creek and waited a couple holes before using it. Dramatic increase in distance. Lower flight, even with chips (which is my preference). I've played the same ball for two full rounds and my partners have noticed the distance difference as well. I'd never purchase one though. They cost nearly $5 a ball! The course I play has a lot of water, so I never get too attached to any one brand.

Just running into this video a little late but I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the conversation. I have tested almost every ball in my home simulator and I would have to agree with just about everything you have said here. The ERC soft is so long off the tee and low spin off the low irons, it goes miles. The Q star tour goes a bit shorter but plays great, I love the orange/Yellow divide personally. The Soft feel to me is the best feeling ball around because of the soft interaction with the clubs and putter but it doesn't spin at all on wedge shots and it's well shorter for me as someone with a 108 SS with the driver. The Kirkland for me at least is way too spinny with the irons, kind of balloons up and loses distance. My friend who swings a little slower loved them when I gave him a sleeve last year.
My personal favorite is the Titleist AVX. If you like a softer feel ball but want basically the same distance as a harder compression ball, this is the one to play. Buy them 4A/5A on EBAY for half the price of new and call it a day. Love the channels, keep up the great work.

A few months ago, I was using the Callaway Supersoft but changed to the ERC Triple Track, and I love the way the ball sounds and feels coming off of the club face for both my irons and woods and how it perfirms on the greens. I'm a 9 hcp and I wouldn't use any of these three piece high spin balls. High backspin also equals high SIDE spin, witch means your fades, draws and slices will be LARGER. High spin balls are for very low HCPS who can consistently work the ball. Two piece low spin balls will give you just as much distance and will go straighter especially when you are hitting into the wind. I started using the Maxfli Straightfli and the performance is very good and they do go straighter.

I wish the kirkland balls worked well for me due to the low price. They are great round the greens, but as an already high spin player they come up noticably, and measuarbly shorter off the tee. Left dash PV1s are the longest ball I have used off the tee, but expensive, and often hard to find. I've found that the Wilson Staff model works almost as well, and can be found for less.

Thanks!! When I was younger and working I could afford a golf club membership. Now I’m retired and the membership was just too much money for monthly dues and the every other year “assessment” (~$5K). I still have dozens of Titleist golf balls I found on that course. Anyway, I was pleased to see the ERC Soft the list. I’m not going to change until Callaway stops making them. Dave Pelz, short game and putting guy says play the same ball ALL THE TIME. Different balls do go different distances. Amateurs play different balls all the time and wonder why they are inconsistent. Duh!

I’m about an 18 handicap and I use the Wilson duo soft, cut red, and the callaway warbird. Usually it depends on which of the 3 I can find on sale. My current favorite is the cut red

Been using Wilson Triads. Did break par for the first time on 9 holes last year. 34 on par 35.
The only downside is you really need to draw your own line on them for putting. Its hard to see when you step back to look over your alignment if the sun is in the wrong position otherwise.

Q stars have always been very, very good except they wear quickly. I use Kirkland because I am not a pro and my ball speed, let's say-sucks! But I can still kick butt. Great video. Thanks

Currently year two leaning on The Noodle and I’ve mixed in the Srixon Soft Feel thanks to one of those buy two get a dozen free offers. I like, don’t love the Soft Feels. I don’t hit enough greens to be super obsessed with spin, but do enjoy the short game challenge and understand the factor spin plays.
I’m never ever taking the time to draw lines on a golf ball. It drives me nuts that people Picasso a golf ball that’s a fraction of a second away from being in my found ball collection.
I’ve found hundreds of other balls that I will or have played just for fun and to see if I can tell a difference. If you aren’t consistently smashing 90 it’s insane to spend over $30 a dozen on balls unless you are just curious and want to try different brands and styles.
Found Pro V1s in the deep rough - SURE
$55 for a fresh dozen - Um, No thanks.

Funny you should say that about the Srixon soft feel. I'm just getting back into golf after a few years off due to an injury. I hadn't purchased any golf balls in years. I went to the local store and picked up a dozen of these mainly due to their low cost and coming from Srixon. When Srixon came out some years back and were new to the market, I grabbed a dozen of theirs, not sure of the ball model though and were impressed. Anyway, I find I am hitting them fairly well from the tee and approach are fine but what I'm finding is when I'm chipping. They seem to bounce off the club well and are running faster than I expect so am going by the pin an extra couple of feet from what I've done in the past. I still have a couple sleeves left so will use them up but think I'll be trying the Wilson Duo Soft. I can't see myself spending more than $30 a dozen for the amount of time I can actually get in a round.

QST is a great golf ball. If one has yet to try it then just do it. IMO the best ball at that price point. I also like the Vice Pro as well. If you want to stretch and buy 5 doz the Vice Pro get real close to the K Sig in price too. 😊
As for the ERC. I think the TM Tour Response is a much better ball at $39.99. 😮
I am playing off a 12 hcp and i play Vice Pro & Q Star Tour.

I use the Callaway Hex Soft. It's a plastic cover, 2 piece ball that's cheap, but at the allowing rate I lose balls, I'm okay with it.

I have tried and lost most, I don't like Titleist too clicky off the face. I really like the alignment aid on the TM Tour Response Stripe, they also feel very nice off the face and when putting.

I tried Kirkland balls and they don't last. They get cut up really fast, but for the price it's not a big deal to use a bunch during the round. They play otherwise.

Currently playing Titliest Tour Speed. I’m playing off 3.7. I’ve been ball testing. Im about to move into Srixon Z Star. Im looking for more consistency into the green from around 140 and in. With the tour speed I will occasionally get a low spin flyer. For me it’s slightly unpredictable. The Z Star is more consistent for how I deliver the club.

I used the Srixon Q Star tour but my handicap of about 26 probably doesn't justify it! Good ball, urethane cover, but also relatively soft compression.

I use the Kirkland in the winter when it’s easier to lose a ball because of the amount of leaves on the ground and never touched any other ball than the Qstar for spring and summer golf. The feel around the greens and off the putter is amazing but I’ve actually changed my ball now and gone over to the Taylormade Tour Response. For me it out plays and feels better than the Qstar, but I know it’s a personal thing.
One thing you said at the start made me smile when you said mid handicap was around 13/18 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks as most other you tubers go on about mid being around 7/10

I’ve been using the ERC for 2 seasons and really like this ball for my slower senior swing speed. Perform great off the tee, in the fairway, and on/around the green.
I even brought a few to my driver fitting so I could get fit using the ball I use.

I play off 11 handicap and live in the UK. In the winter months when the greens are soft let's face it I could use a top flite because the ball is going to stop quickly. But I don't use them I use Srixon q star tour, the white ones not the divide or coloured ones as I find the colours put me off, strange to know. In the summer when the greens are like concrete I play only 1 type of ball because they offer the best feel and control around the greens. They do cost quite a lot but I find you have to speculate to accumulate. The ball is TM TP5.

Playing of 15 hcp. Playing srixon Zstar diamond . It's excellent value for tour level ball . Srixon is selling at very competitive price in my country. May try Q star tour. But not soft feel ball. Can't feel the ball when putting n I m using milled putter

Play the Srixon soft feel during the summer and the Bridgestone brx depends on the feel for me. Don’t have a issue with both balls when putting or chipping it helps me to follow through because they are softer, currently playing if 2.2

As long as I don't hit the cart path or a fence, I can use the same ProV1 for about 3-5 rounds. Assuming I don't lose it in a lake. Lol. 11HCP
I've tried all kinds of different balls trying to save money, but unfortunately I can feel and see a performance difference. I just buy a box at a time and don't even worry about the price anymore.

I've been playing titelist AVX for a couple of years. The 2024 edition is now $50.00 US.
Wednesday, while playing a round, came across a VICE Pro Soft. I used it for the rest of the round and another full round on Friday. I really like the ball. Putts well, stops on a dime, and is a little longer than the AVX. For myself anyway.
I just ordered 5 dozen. They were on sale for $31.00 each @ 5. They also had a promo by 5 get 1 free. So 6 dozen. With tax and shipping, it breaks down to about $28/dozen. Nearly half of the AVX. By by titelist.
