I have used the AD333 and even more the AD333 Tour quite a lot. I am currently a +1 handicap golfer and while I do find that I sacrifice a little performance between the AD333 and my normal gamer which is the ZStar XV, even as a low handicap golfer, I do not see a massive difference in my scoring when playing what is considered a second tier ball.
I think a lot of weekend golfers think of themselves as far better than they really are. None of us including even scratch handicappers are actually good enough to really see a massive difference. And the flipside is that as a +1 or scratch I also have sufficient ability to make the ball work and adjust my chipping enough to allow for slightly more run out or a slightly higher ball flight off my irons.

High handicapper here. I fell in love with the Srixon Ultisoft this year (might be re-branded Soft Feel?). They cost 32.90€ (I'd guess that would mean around 25-27£ in UK) for 24 balls, are quite soft and despite them being targeted towards lower club head speeds I didn't lose that much distance either.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but, does it really matter what ball you play if you’re not paying the mortgage with winnings/sponsorships? I played a Top Flite for years. Did fine. I switched to the Srixon Soft Feel awhile back simply because i got tired of aching wrists from the Top Flite. Maybe I answered my original question there…? Anyway, I played the QStar and they’re nice but my game wasn’t really able to take full advantage of what that ball says it offers. Out of all the golf equipment available, golf balls seem the most complicated.

From what I can gather on the web, SeRM is a urethane compound. So you've got an inexpensive ionomer two-piece ball with juuuuust enough urethane sprayed on it to give it some zip. For a few holes anyway. They don't put that coating on the Soft Feel. I guess it would make it too "expensive", but that would be great.
The AD333 did really well in Today's Golfer's ball test a couple of years back. Not the longest, but more than respectable for average speed swings. But that Spinskin coating is the real deal. Wedge spin was higher than a bunch of urethane tour balls.

I have become a fan of the taylormade distance plus cheap launch high and check up on green not as much spin as my tp5x but good to beat around and play with

Well, just saw this a year later. Money spent on balls? $0.00.
I work at a golf course, when I go play I just grab balls out of one of my various 5 gallon buckets. Callaway, Titleist, Taylormade and Nitros are the most common. The first three stay in same bucket.
Bucket 2 gets filled with Bridgestone, Noodle, Vice, Cut, and Srixon. The last being the least found.
But…..after watching this I may buy a dozen to see if game improves.
    Thanks for a wonderful channel!

The Topflite XL2000 would like to have a word with you about your claims! Not sure if you had those across the pond but pretty sure EVERY golfer that was mid/high handicap or on their way to a scramble played these.

I have been using the same TM TP5 for a few rounds now. Bought them from the local pond diver. Presently 8 handicap.

I find loads of these on my local course in hull. I quite like using them if I've already lost afew balls . I'm a high handicapper and normally use any premium balls I find in the sale section

I'm playing the Wilson Duo+ and they are the same price as the Srixon here in Sweden. I do like them. I'm a 28 hcp.

I use the Srixon Distance, but they have just released a new version of that ball too. which means that the local direct sports shop (not naming the shop) no longer do 2 dozen for £18. I think the AD333 work out a few quid more. But might be a better shout.

Well James maybe in the U.K. But I live in the U.S. in approximately the middle of the country. I sneak onto golf courses in the middle of the night and collect miss hit balls. I have thousands. And at least 70 percent of my finds are Calloway Super Softs.

I looked these up and Sportchek is showing AD333. I live in Ontario. But the Q-Star is one of my favourites for the price. Soft Feel is a great deal too. Gotta love the Srixon sale at Golftown.

@@bobbrown5951 yup. I’ve used both. But I’ve only found the AD333 at sportchek (at half price late last year!). I usually just stock up every year at GT buy one get one free on the q stars. Not sure why anyone would buy the crazy expensive balls when Srixons are always on sale (including the premium z stars).

I played the AD333 recently and really liked it. My only issue was I managed to keep one for 10 holes and at the end it felt like a curled-up hedgehog. I’ve recently got a load of Slazenger v300 and can’t feel any difference between the 2 balls or see any difference in performance. Distance, flight, touch around the greens, all feel the same.
That would be a ball worth reviewing. £20 for 48! V300 (not the rock that is the V100!!!!)

There's only so much *new* golf stuff that youtubers can review. It takes time to script, film, and edit... people claiming X stole from Y, or Y steals from Z... new stuff comes out, content embargo (can't release your article until X date)...
If James has been working on on this, and Rick just released it... makes sense James to release it as well. Think petro/gas stations on all corners on an intersection. Another view, another choice. RUclips algo will probably link them together...
Try and just enjoy the content...

ADTriple3, I have these plus lots of others as in my last two rounds I have found over 30 golf balls, half gone into the practice bag. Srixon seem to be a popular ball getting lost on my local course, maybe they are recommended by the pro shops aimed at mid to high handicappers
I tend to pick either the newest looking ball in my bag or the ball from my last round if it went well to play with. Try not to tempt fate and the woods with a new ball on the first

I started in July and always played with a TP5 7.9 is my handicap ( never really lose balls as I use 2 iron from tee lol ) my mates who range from +1 to the highest being myself and they literally use anything….. had one use a commando 🤨 never even heard of it!! I must admit I love a soft ball but with my raw faced wedges they get wrecked especially out of sand
