This place would cause major panic for me but it's so intriguing. I didn't expect the small passageways and low ceilings. There's too many people crowded into the rooms and all the children squeeling and people talking and shouting would have driven me mad after only a few minutes. LOL! I imagine going there without the crowd would have made it much more pleasant. Thank you for the wonderful video! I never expected it to be like this.
I can imagine the poor old ghosts to get fed up with all those crowds too! I have never been to this beautiful place, & doubt if I ever will it would be really difficult for a disabled person, but your video has made it possible, Thank you.
That was awesome! Thanks for overcoming your fears for us! I did the tour of the garden with my grandson when he was 3 - now 13 - but would love to check out the castle when I next go there! Thanks again!
I didn’t expect the castle to be so beautiful and full of such lovely items ! Not much good for me and my friends to climb up there with our arthritic joints 😊Thank you 👍
That was fantastic and mind blowing! Thank you for sharing and making this journey! I love that relic of the castle! You know I was thinking the same thing, how did those rocks, stones and materials transported and carried up to build everything! The views are amazing and stunning!! Breathtaking! ❤️🙏
My friend lived in one of the cottages there looking after the lady of St Micheals Mount until she passed away. My friend is actually my ex sister in law and she invited us to stay on the Mount when she lived there......wish we had. x
I've be waiting excitedly to watch this video and I'm not at all disappointed. I loved the walk over to the castle with the smooth cobblestone path, turning into a jagged, uneven, ragged one. And quite steep one as well! It made getting to the castle quite interesting. It's difficult though because you must keep your eyes downward to avoid a slip and not look forward to see the magnificent castle approaching up ahead. The cannons lined up at the ready to protect against an attack was quite impressive! I love the stained glass windows here and there, they themselves tell a story. The nooks and crannies where you take a peak at the sea, I'm sure it was the most interesting thing to do if you resided there centuries ago! Thanks again for a memorable walk. Keep those trainers moving along, we'll follow :)
I loved this walk. I was there nearly 30 years ago and did a walk to and through the castle. There weren't nearly so many people then. Many of your scenery shots i have in my photo album. I didn't get the spooky feeling here but there were a few other places in the UK where I did. Thank you for taking me back there for a visit.
That was fantastic. I visited here when I was around 9 or 10 years old with my school. I mostly remember the walk there and back. Very little memory of inside. That nauseous feeling when you were inside, how weird. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for visiting my happy place. I've loved it ever since my first time back in 1980's, with many visits since then. Such a shame that you felt uneasy in the castle Neil. For anyone visiting, try to see the stunning garden too if open.
That was an amazing tour thank you so much I’ve only ever seen photos of St Micheal’s Mount my daughter has been there but the weather was not in there favour that day. 👍
Thank you for uploading this video! It has brought back such happy memories when we visited back in 2015. There is a folklore tale about Cormorant the Giant who loved on the island and kept coming onto the mainland to steal sheep and the young shepherd set a trap on the island to kill Cormorant. Fascinating story! Also on the pathway leading up to the Castle lies Cormorant's heart (which is a heart-shaped stone set un the footpath). I told my kids this story the night before we visited, I told them that if we went and were lucky enough to discover the secret pathway to the island then we can indeed go onto the island and visit the castle. Yes, I took some poetic licence with the tide being out fact lol but they were super excited to visit this amazing place.
Making my way through all your videos 😂 Ive been twice, it is a magical place 😊 The last time I was there it was a warm sunny day and I lay and a snooze under a tree looking back across to Marazion 😎
Thanks Gimbal! This place holds a special memory for me although I have never been there - I have a photo of my mother in her twenties (I think) on the Mount leaning on a car, there were several vehicles there in the photo. All classics now since it must have been some time in the 1930's. I don't suppose vehicles are allowed there now - but I did see a small lorry in your video there. Thanks for the trip 🙂
Aww really felt for you Lovely video again Been once in the 70s when it was a monastery got a bottle of something like mead i think Thanks for another visit
I really loved how you left the natural sounds, but put comments to guide us. SMM is on my bucket list, but am curious whether (as a senior and generally fit) I could do this tour. I guess we'll see soon!
I was just thinking I'd probably get claustrophobic and then you mentioned it! Lol..kind of reminded me of Edinburgh castle where we were herded like cattle. Narrow walkways there as well as crazy strong winds! But beautiful scenery..just like here. I see I need to start training for the hike uphill! One of the places I plan on visiting soon. Thanks for video! It was perfect 🥰
I love st Michaels mount , it’s history is very interesting.Must be school holidays judging by the amount of people around, I prefer it when it’s quieter.
Very Good Video We've Missed Out Going In To Tunnel I Did Not Know There was a Tunnel Thank You For Showing Next time We Go To Cornwall We definitely Go Down the Tunnel And The Lizard Peninsula , The minnack Theatre . Thank You Again For This Great Video .
For a comparison now you should go to France and do their Mont St. Michel castle. Both are castles put on rock outcrops off the coastline that are only accessible by foot during lowtide .
This is amazing we went here me and pig it’s an amazing place to see. But don’t get stuck with the sea . Iv got some photos of all the cannons. We’re sat on them a really great place to visit worth seeing and climbing to the top . I couldn’t do it now wish I could Amazing enjoy 😊👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I am the opposite to you, in that when you looked over battlements I moved back & pushed my phone away at the same time. Hubby just smiled 😃 at me. I think you would have been fine if they didn't have so many twists & small corridors to give the impression of being in a tunnel underground. I could spend hours looking at everything & asking zillions of questions. Thank you so much.
The giants heart used to be on a path way around the castle itself in the 80s , i went on holiday with my junior school there its was, amazing we went all over Cornwall two weeks we were there ..
Not sure you picked up on it but the video (excellent by the way, ignoring a few spellings) shows the Giants Heart as being the big rock behind the little sign. The heart is actually a small "heart shaped" pebble in the path way about a foot or two to the left of the big rock. If you google giants heart and "show all images" you may see a lady in pink pointing at it.
When i first saw St Michaels Mount we saw it from high up across.....i was gobsmacked how amazingly beautiful it stood out. I still have yet to go even if i didn't manage to stay over with my ex sister in-law at a cottage there. Gutted
That was lovely, I hadn’t been there for 20 years , I’d forgotten how fantastic the view was. Have to see your white trainers🤣 I wonder what had gone in in the creepy room, I’m glad the Church was peaceful .
Beautiful indeed. And yes, some parts really do feel rather claustrophobic and that spiral staircase near the end gave me a feeling vertigo (never liked the things to be honest modern or ancient). Having also seen a tour of the French counterpart Mont St Michel, it hard to choose which one I like better. Bother have their own merits. Oh an in a place like this, there's bound to be a resident ghost or two...but they're probably harmless.
thank you, that was a really good video, I really enjoyed that. Just a quick question, for people with disabilities, is there an easier way of getting up the hill to the castle? or is it all steep steps?
Great video and loved the view of the famous trainers 🙂. However, that looked crowded, noisy and claustrophobic 🥴🤯. Better to go, when the kids are back in school.
Can someone tell me some facts about the old dairy? Are there (old) pictures of the interior, until when the bulding was used as dairy? I'm searching for some more information due to a writingproject, but I can't find any. Best Regards, Klaus

I'm not clausstrophobic, but have a fear of heights... not a fan of some of the peeks over the parapets! Very interesting tour, but would have liked a peek into the dairy building.
My ex-neighbour rents his house out because he got a job on the Mount and the accommodation came with it - at least, that happened about 20 years ago and they've not come back to live and are still renting it out, so I hope he still has his job over there anyway! Tenants have never left and I've never seen any for sale signs, nor estate agents coming and going, so I'm going to hope he still has his job. Nice couple they were, good neighbours. Ok I'm shutting up before I trip off down memory lane lol.
Looks like they get very big tides there. I expected that the rooms inside the castle would be bigger but they seemed so small, cramped even.. But maybe you being 6/3 tall might have caused that feeling because your camera height would be higher..
I am pretty sure the old ghosts there abandoned the place already because of noisy and nosey crowds.😅 I could have a good sleep there if there's room accommodation. 😊
Is better they put earphones explain the tour. Instead on hearing all that loud voices of the kids and people. They don’t let appreciate the place in real calmness. Is sad….
You said that you suddenly felt claustrophobic and a sense of fear and dread, and that all came on right after you looked into that so-called secret passageway which really was not a secret passage tunnel it is actually a holding chamber for prisoners... so there could have been a Ghostly prisoner spirit that had once been in that chamber now roaming the castle that made you feel how they felt back then... just throwing that out there.

Did this 70 years ago! Thanks for the memory.
Did the visit 50yrs ago. It was a trip down memory lane. I loved it.

Thank you so much for this video it’s so nice not to have any music just the natural soundtrack well done 10 out of 10👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you very much!

Thank you Sharon ❤️
This is wonderful to see! Thank you so much for sharing this, makes me want to come now and walk around and explore.
You should!
Wow! I feel like I have actually been there already in that beautiful island castle through this very nice video. Great job 👍🫡💖
That was awesome! Thanks for overcoming your fears for us! I did the tour of the garden with my grandson when he was 3 - now 13 - but would love to check out the castle when I next go there! Thanks again!
Enjoyed that.

I didn’t expect the castle to be so beautiful and full of such lovely items ! Not much good for me and my friends to climb up there with our arthritic joints 😊Thank you 👍
I did struggle a bit (I edited out the parts where I had to stop every ten minutes to catch my breath!)
That was fantastic and mind blowing! Thank you for sharing and making this journey! I love that relic of the castle! You know I was thinking the same thing, how did those rocks, stones and materials transported and carried up to build everything! The views are amazing and stunning!! Breathtaking! ❤️🙏

Was a tough one to film that one!
Fantastic video of this castle. It is like fairy tale castle. Fanstic views arround the castle as well. Thanks for making such a lovely video
So nice of you thank you!

I have booked to stay in Marazion in June 2023 so that I can see this p[ace myself. Great video and thank you for making it.
You’re welcome
It’s one place I can’t wait to go back to!
I love your channel. Your videography is excellent!! Beautiful camera movements that doesn't make one fell dizzy!!!

🫢! I want to move there!!! Thank you so much for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

You and me both!
Thanks mr Gimbal, I haven't been there, too old now, very enjoyable..

You will have done better on the hill than me too I would imagine 🤣

Another great & fantastic video of St Michael's Mount | Full walking tour of St Michaels Mount, Cornwall, England in 4K!.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Many thanks!
Aww really felt for you
Lovely video again
Been once in the 70s when it was a monastery got a bottle of something like mead i think
Thanks for another visit
Фантастическое место. Хотела бы там побывать в этой жизни. Кажется, в прошлой я там была. Энергетика от видео 💪👍❤️🔥
good one i enjoyed this and will make a visit one day
You should!
ive been there but didnt get to do a walking tour. this is FABULOUS.
Thank you Janet!
Amazing love it
Fab isn't it!
loved the castle but dont fancy the walk and climb to it fantastic vidio
Would definitely have preferred to take the lift! 🤣
I really loved how you left the natural sounds, but put comments to guide us. SMM is on my bucket list, but am curious whether (as a senior and generally fit) I could do this tour. I guess we'll see soon!
I’m definitely not the fittest
It’s not too bad if you stop and rest every now and again

How long is the pathway exposed during low tide? I’m looking forward to this ‘breathtaking’ climb. March 2022.
Thanks for sharing this. I'd love to visit in person but I know I am physically not able to make that climb.
You’re welcome
It was a pretty tough climb to be fair
Not sure I’d be able to do it again for much longer
This is a place I'd love to visit 🙂
It was on my hitlist for ages - glad I did it but would take my time next time I think!
@@GimbalWalkTV Lyme Regis is a really lovely place to visit. And Beer not far from is lovely. All that area down south really lol.

I'd visit all the armory stuff. I would have taken hundreds of pics if not more. Great place to visit and even stay at...
Defintiely

Really enjoyed St Michaels Mount. It brought back memories. One of which was walking up the mount on the old path .
Beautiful indeed. And yes, some parts really do feel rather claustrophobic and that spiral staircase near the end gave me a feeling vertigo (never liked the things to be honest modern or ancient). ❤️❤️
I have been here it's a good place to go
thank you, that was a really good video, I really enjoyed that. Just a quick question, for people with disabilities, is there an easier way of getting up the hill to the castle? or is it all steep steps?
Was this a location for The Eagle has landed film? it looks familiar! thankyou for sharing such an interesting video.
So much to see
How long did you stay there?
I was there in 1975, couldn't walk up all the hills and steps now, hardly noticed then
Oh yes. I understand that one for sure!
Thank you for a fantastic video really enjoyed it from beginning to end. Is it expensive to go in the castle? And as always keep on walking 👍🚶🏻♂️
Thank you!
Was only like £8 to go to the castle
Great video and loved the view of the famous trainers 🙂. However, that looked crowded, noisy and claustrophobic 🥴🤯. Better to go, when the kids are back in school.
Looks” lovley
Stone for the castle seems to have come from d island itself…so, d castle 🏰 blends into its natural surroundings…👌🏻😃👍🏻
Can someone tell me some facts about the old dairy? Are there (old) pictures of the interior, until when the bulding was used as dairy? I'm searching for some more information due to a writingproject, but I can't find any. Best Regards, Klaus
The castle has been remodeled over the centuries.
11:17 if you pause it on this time stamp, the Giant's Heart is not actually the huge rock. If you pause it on 11:17 or 11:18 then you'll see a small heart-shaped stone on the floor as part if the path. That is the Giant's heart 👍
Ah that’s amazing thank you so much!!
Amazing tour, but I had expected more of the medievil times left inside the castle.
Yes me too
Just a walk not explaining much about the history of the castle. Whether the Chapel is consecrated? Thank you for the view.
Thanks for this. I had no idea what was there. Like you, one of my thoughts went to how the heck they carried all the stone there to make the thing.
I'm a bit of an introvert and large groups of people make me want to leave. I have to have an exit, or I start feeling flushed, and like I'm going to be sick. On the other hand, although I don't think I believe in "ghosts", I think there are lots of things we don't understand, or don't yet understand. I can think of quite a few places I've visited in the past that seemed to have their own presence? Not sure what the right word is.
Yeah interesting - maybe I have the same introverted feeling as yourself and it wasn't paranormal? Not sure!
What camera/video did you use?
Just my phone for this one!
Is the garden arw worth visiting 🤔???
Not sure. I'm not really a fan of wandering round gardens if I have to pay for it really but if you are then it could be!
Is there a model of the castle in the model of the castle?
Ha ha now there’s a question!!
Sorry I jumped in a bit quick with the spelling correction. Nice tour, shame about the weather. The castle started life as a monastery, which is the reason for its peculiar layout.
We had a beautiful walk but everyone needs to remember that it is closed every SATURDAY!
The first thing I noticed was the incorrect spelling, it's Marazion and not Morizion. Apart from that a very good video.
Thank you
I'm not clausstrophobic, but have a fear of heights... not a fan of some of the peeks over the parapets! Very interesting tour, but would have liked a peek into the dairy building.
Can you live here? Or is it just part of the national trust or something like that.?
You can’t live on the island I don’t think
Yes people do live on the island, in the visitor centre there's a good film about the people who live and work on the island.
Just looked on the website - don't know when the staff photos were taken but he's still part of the team in those pics - good for him (I hope!).
👍
❤️
Is better they put earphones explain the tour. Instead on hearing all that loud voices of the kids and people. They don’t let appreciate the place in real calmness. Is sad….
Just mute the video and you can enjoy it in silence if you prefer to. 😉

Spent many happy hours on that beach in the 50's and playing on Chapel Rock. Pity you spelt Marazion incorrectly though.
Yeh unfortunate - the spell checker on my software sometimes flips the spellings just as I click off them
Didn't think that the island was that big. Those steep steps won't be very good for my dodgy knee
Yeah it’s a challenge!
I had no idea there was a counterpart to Mont Saint Michel in England
Yeah! I’m heading to the French one soon to film that too
Members of the National Trust get free admission.
That’s good!
I’m an English Heritage member and might have to join National Trust too!
Cornwall is a beautiful part of the country. Shame about the 'locals' though. They want the tourist revenues but have utter contempt for the tourists themselves!
So glad we did not lose the camera man on that one. The reason Castles are at the top of hills is exercise for the peasants.😇😂
My knees are still recovering 🤣🤣
Lots of children there.
True
It's like the Aldi version of the French town..
Yes, it's nice to walk I know.
But in all peninsulars, to call an island an island - it's more realistic and convincing if you have to get there by boat. I know from my experience on having stayed overnight on several british islands.
If you don't see it as an island at night time, you would think "why bother staying here".

Revelation 12 v 7
And the war broke out in heaven, Saint Michael and his followers, fighting the devil, the devil war defeated and thrust down.......
Its Marazion 😊
It is
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil may God rebuke him we humbly pray and do though oh prince of heavenly host, with the power obtained from God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits moving around the world seeking the ruin of souls.Amen.
Marazion, not Morazion
I PRESUME YOU MADE IT BACK BEFORE THE TIDE CAME IN !
Only just 😮🤣
At 14:15 you can see the Cornwall flag.
Yeah! ❤️
