What up y'all, it's time for an epic ballad. I haven't done too many covers so here is one that hopefully will delight your ear buds.
I actually worked out an acoustic arrangement of this song years ago and that was my original plan for this cover, but as I love the original so much I thought why not just recreate the entire track. Turned to be quite a challenge. This here is my biggest recording production to date and I'm sure it won't be my last.
Bonus points if you can spot the 3 Michael Boltons throughout the video
Anyway let me know what you think in the comments and don't forget to like and subscribe!

Thank you very very much! I'll keep churning them out!
Great job Jake! Michael's face says it all at 3.17!!
Haha thanks man, yea I felt his face there was particularly emotional and would fit that moment.
Another song very tastefully done. Great job Jake.
Thanks Floyd, got more coming soon!
@@JakeFaun Been following you for awhile now. Do you have recorded lessons available for sale? And maybe some tabs for some of your songs?
Wow.. you sure can make the guitar sing Jake! Absolutely fantastic one again!!
Thanks again Pat, I'm glad this one came out the way it did!
Now , I have to go listen to Bolton's version for comparision . Thank's for passing on some music I might not normally listen to . Also , as usual , you killed it . Thank's for posting .
Thanks Bud! Yea go check out the original, such a great song, hopefully I did it justice!
Some of your best work Jake.
Thank you michael!
So smooth. I bet Bolton's beautiful golden locks are waving in the wind right now in honor of this cover
Haha thanks, yea the Bolton had quite the hair back in the day. I wanted to pay tribute by splicing in some of his best moments haha
@@JakeFaun 🤘
Beautiful!!! Especially the dramatic moment with Michael Bolton’s face! My favorite part
Yes the appearance of Bolton was a treat for us all.
Great sound! That's a wonderful word.
Thanks again man!
Bravo!Sounding great.
Thanks midi man!
Great 🎸played, really great arranged
Thanks Magnus, yea I spent more time arranging this one than any of my other tracks. Took a while to figure everything out!
2 days ago my mother killed herself by throwing herself out the window, and being at home I couldn't help it. I have a broken soul, it is a pain that floods me and overwhelms me. And these moments listening to music comforts and reassures me. Jake your videos, your songs, and this cover that I also didn't know, has gotten me so excited. I love it. Thank you very much for your videos that help me in these hard times. Thank you very much. And sorry for my English because it is the Google translator. From Spain deeply grateful
Ah man I'm so sorry to hear that, that's terrible. I'm glad that music is helping you, I find too that music can be a very useful tool at certain times, a much more healthy option than some other coping mechanisms. I'm happy that my music is one of the things that provide comfort for you, and I can understand you clearly so it's all good! Again I am sorry for your loss, I hope you're staying safe and healthy and that you can find positivity wherever you can.
Right in the feels man... Nice work!
Thanks man, it certainly is an emotional song.
Amazing.. thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Very nice !!!
Thank you!
Really nice Jake! Great feel... Very enjoyable... Listened to it three times when I saw it pop up. This is truly how a tremolo should be used. Your instrumentals always just "bring it." Cheers!
Thanks Jim, yea I haven't done much with the tremolo in other songs. I used to use it all the time when I was younger and I was big into Vai and Satriani, played an Ibanez etc. So when I started working out this song the tremolo arm was a great way to evoke emotion. So even though there isn't much 'shred' in this song, hopefully it's still engaging to watch/listen!
Nice cool! 👍👏👏
Thank you sir!
1:17 tremolo master !
Ditto. A device so often overused by many. He mastered it in this one!
Thanks guys, yea there are a few moments in this song that took a while to get right. It's easy so overuse the tremolo arm and also easy to use it badly. So hopefully I got it right!
So cool . That intros sounded just like something from Happy Gilmore when the midget was riding the stick horse LOL! 🤘🤘
Haha yea it does sound like the music from that moment. Perhaps I should have spliced some of those clips in...
@@JakeFaun naa that would have just interfered with the mood of that bad ass video
Nice job, keep it up!
Thank you!
Been checking out some of the Roth tour you've been doing..Fauntastic!!You definitely deserve some good lead time..But who these days really backs David Lee's performance as a singer..No sweat brother..He's a good vehicle for you till where you'll be the limelight where you belong..My opinion is David Lee has the luck to have you on stage with him.God didn't give you those good looks let alone that superb fingering you possess to sit back on playing chords from and old coot that's had his day. You just keep that studio stuff ripping..You'll find the right members to suit you..That's the day you'll be simply a star...
Thank you Michael, well I am very fortunate to be playing with David, I remember learning Van Halen licks when I was 14 years old so to be playing wit the man himself is pretty cool! But yes when the time comes for us to part ways hopefully I'll be in a good position to keep things going. I must say I do quite like playing arenas! Anyway if you stick around my channel I guess you'll see if I do anything else particularly cool so let's hope that happens!
Hell ya..I played for a living through my 20's and some of my 30's..Your average rockin blues stuff..Bands were hard..People had issues, families and yes those famous girlfriends that would sometimes take you away from the music but all in all it's a hard life to keep up with..Always working on tunes for gigs etc..Don't get me wrong it was fun on the stage but it had it's hard times too..I played mostly bass..It was a quiet place too be..No heavy leads and nobody really knows what your playing so it's a safe instrument..I would imagine your on the West coast ?
When the Michael Bolton pic popped up I died 😂
He has been known to have that effect on people.
Mom..Pop..you’re the best parents anyone can ask for but…I gotta know
Haha yep, probably the best Disney movie in my opinion!
@@JakeFaun same you just got a subscriber for life
Nice cover !!!!. Have a question. What picks do you use?? Soft or hard??
Thanks Rafael! I typically use 1.14 millimeter Jim Dunlop picks. So they're relatively hard/thick. If I'm playing acoustic or something where I need to do a lot of fast strumming I'll use a thinner pick though.
Almost as good as those pirates of the caribbean movies
Those are indeed some good movies.
Great arrangement and performance.. Awesome sound coming out of your fender!! Big like and subscription to your channel.. Will check more of your videos! I also make covers and some original songs playing all instruments.. If you want have a look at my channel too
Thanks Andrea, yea just checked out your channel, love the Pokemon cover you did, that was always one of my favourite theme songs!
@@JakeFaun thanks a lot for checking.. Really appreciate it!
I'm STILL better looking! 😁
Haha I'm sure you are!
